"Pretty Face" "Joy in Rempatition" "We can fall" These italian booleggers really were under drugs or something back in the days I know we didn't know the genuine song names back then, but how can u hear "pretty face" instead of "data bank" and "fall" instead of "funk"??! ... [Edited 3/14/10 7:52am] I know, right? The Italian bootleggers need to clean their ears out with one of these: RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

The absolute highlight 4 me is "Wonderful Ass". Everytime a new source would circulate, I thought I had the bomb, like the versions from the bootlegs "Electric Intercourse:the Anthology" and "Bright Eyes In the Vault". But this version of "Wonderful Ass" is the clearest I've ever heard it. I've never even noticed Wendy and Lisa's banter in the background during Prince's ad libs toward the end. Thank U 2 the freer of this release!

WOW. Awesome Bootleg. Awesome. 'Starfish and Coffee' and 'Ballad Of Dorothy Parker' both sound like they are simply different mixes of the song, but with crazy superior mastering to the basically non-mastered versions on the CD. If someone were to lend this kind of mastering job to 'Sign O' The Times' I probably wouldn't stop ejaculating until I was dehydrated to death. So maybe it's best if that never happens...

I definately dig it; especially "We Can Funk". I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.

You did not notice the hyped treble? You did not notice the tape flaws? (yes, those are harder if not impossible to fix) Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Nothing fishy. There's always a hierarchy within tape/bootleg trading circles who have the best sounding stuff quality wise which doesn't tend to be shared outside of that group. Obviously someone's decided to. And thanks to them! Great to have better quality versions of "Wonderful Ass" and the original version/mix of "We Can Funk". Bring on Volume 2!

No. SPOOKYGAS dangled a chain and I yanked it. Prince is behind this release only because he recorded the songs and carelessly let them get out into the wild many years ago. That's where Prince's involvement in bootlegs such as this ends. This is a fan made treat of the highest order. I think of Box O Chocolates as a fellow Prince enthusiast's effort to cauterize the gaping wound that Purple And Gold barbarically inflicted on the devoted turned disenfranchised. Does anybody know who is on the drums on the track "All Day All Night"? I'm listening to this track now, and I'm lovin it. It almost sounds like it could be Sheila E., but I could be wrong. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

It's The Revolution. Prince recorded the song on June 7, 1984, at The Warehouse, while rehearsing for the birthday gig later that evening at First Avenue. There's a video of this rehearsal floating around. It's shows the song being actually recorded, which is even more rare and a great part of Prince history. It was The Revolution playing and Prince singing. It was a true representation of how Prince recorded music back then. Songs like "Let's Go Crazy", "Darling Nikki", etc were recorded with the band, opposed to broken down in parts and mixed later (ie one man band sound). Prince later worked on the song for Jill's album, but it was mainly overdubs. The video is great, and also houses the songs "Our Destiny" and "Roadhouse Garden" (which is where the bootlegs are taken from - ie: this rehearsal on video). I believe there audio of the birthday gig out there as well which has all these songs on it for the most part. But no, Sheila E. did not play on this track. It was Bobby Z on drums. I love the clarity of this track the most from the BOC boot. It's the one song I'm playing over and over it seems.
