This bootleg is the bomb... Not only is the music great but the artwork is pretty bad-ass as well.

One thing I wanna bring up.... Maybe I'm wrong, but how far-fetched is it to think that alot of these bootlegs are made available by Prince himself?
I mean all of a sudden, out of nowhere, these tracks appear in high quality with great artwork and easy to find (when the Prince police is usually right on top of things).

When you think about it, this would be a great way for Prince to release tracks/albums for free which keeps fans interested in him and gets a buzz going and he doesn't have to do any distribution deals or anything to release it... PLUS he never has to promote it and he never has to do any intreviews for it and he can release his older tunes that is more sexual and not have to answer to it in terms of his current religous beliefs.

And I also don't understand why even after something like this gets released, people still want Prince to "release them" on cd????? It's already available .
And the quality is pretty damn good. And it makes it almost cooler that it's an underground thing, where only if you are in the know and actively looking for it will you find it.

And regarding the whole "Prince being behind it" thing... Just look at all the dvd concert bootleg shows out there... I can find all of his dvd bootlegs extremely easily online. They've been at one particular place forever and they haven't been taken down... To be able to amass such a collection is not easy at all... Could I be wrong? Maybe....But I think it's very possible, maybe even likely that Prince could be behind a lot of this.

If that's the case... THANK YOU PRINCE. Hope he keeps releasing gems like this, I dig it. I'm sure some of you will disagree with me but that's my take on it. Of course he coulda just released it on Lotusflower.com.... Hmmm..

Why is it nonsense? Expand on your answer...

Fact is ....

*All of a sudden the Roadhouse Rehearsal footage became widely available all of a sudden.

*All of a sudden the video for "A Million Days" magically appears.

*All of a sudden "Box of Chocolates" appears.

*I can go online and in less than 10 seconds find a place that has hundreds of Prince concerts and bootlegs available for sale out in the open.

* Yet if you post a cover of a Prince song on youtube it gets taken down in no time.

What's so hard to believe that Prince is behind SOME of these???

I'm no "Prince FAM" (in other words, deranged Prince lunatic like some people on here) so I don't know what's up with your response. Seems like a logical explanation to some of these releases that go viral online and get a buzz going.
If you are gonna disagree at least give an intelligent response.

Prince doesn't give away albums of unreleased music for free. Simple as. And if he had, it'd be edited, overdubbed and Starfish & Coffee/Dorothy Parker wouldn't be on there. Neither would Wonderful Ass come to that.

Prince did not leak this, someone else did, and I am grateful that they did.

You cannot know that for sure. Again, hypothetically speaking, if he were to release it like this he wouldn't have to answer questions about it or read articles questioning "Why is he releasing this now" and "Is he releasing this now because he feels that his 80's material is better than his current material"...etc. This would be a great way to remind people of what a genius you are... Releasing music without officially releasing it. If you think that idea is far-fetched than you are being very close minded (I'm speaking to everyone). It would be very easy for him to do this if he wanted to. I have absolutely no insider knowledge or anything like that, just a hardcore music fan who is pointing out the obvious.

Yes, you're right. Maybe Prince leaks his own stuff to well known free labels run by fans.

Maybe he also has a vagina. You cannot know that for sure either. Again, hypothetically speaking, if he were to show his vagina, he wouldn't have to answer questions about it anymore or read articles questioning "Is Prince gay?" and "Is he boy or girl?"... etc. So this would be a great way to remind people of what a drag queen he was... vc40 did answer the question earlier. But more specifically, Dorothy Parker and Starfish And Coffee are the same mix-downs that appear on the official vinyl, 8-track, cassette and CD releases we have had for years. The difference is, as vc40 pointed out, proprietary source tapes were used to master this digital release and to my ears, the sound is refreshingly new.

I listened to Dorothy Parker yesterday and got lost in the bassline & snare. Just concentrate on those and the song just becomes hypnotic, it's fantastic. Doesn't do it the same with the album version.

It's understood that you did try to spark up a conversation. The problem is that you offer an opinion which is based on absolutely no facts, is completely conspiratorial and makes no sense in regard to Prince's current religious beliefs, history of turning his back on the past and complete disdain for bootlegs and unauthorized use of his music/image/Symbol etc.

Bootlegs are released on CD/download regularly, this being one of them. The "catalog" number FBG29, denotes it is not the first time this label has released something, unless you're saying Prince is behind all the others too.

The tracks on BOC aren't perfect, why would Prince clandestinely release audio tracks in low-generation quality, to known bootleggers, so they could put this out there for free. He has his own subscription based website where he could charge MONEY for putting them out there himself in perfect quality.

It's not a case of belief, there's simply no evidence, besides being entirely unlikely and illogical - I'd guess some folks here know the people behind these releases, they're fans after all.

Precisely, it was the same with all the 'Prince released this on 3121 date' (which I still don't get)... Err no, people have had this stuff for years, slowly but surely it has been passed to other people and it just happened to go mainstream last week and we could all enjoy them. No Prince involvement other than originally recording them.

Okay, good points NouveauDance & SquirrelGrease. I understand what you guys are saying. I honestly wasn't trying to start a crazy conspiracy theory and yes I could very well be totally wrong about the Box of Chocolates bootleg but many other artist have released albums for free and the fact that virtually every Prince concert dvd bootleg that you can think of can be easily found and purchased online also makes me wonder... So while I concede that I might be wrong about this bootleg, I do still think that it's possible that he has a hand in some other leaks... That's all, no need to attack.

I can reveal to you the percentage of involvement Prince has had with these recent releases.

0%

That would mean that out of a possible 100% involvement, the actual percentage is 0. Zero means none, as in no involvement. Its like when someone could have done something, but didn't. In that case you would say "hey, he had nothing to do with that" and I would say "yes, he had zero involvement".
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
