I still can't beleive some people don't like the song. Someone, I won't sy any names (PurpleKnight) even said that it sounds like a Vegas show tune (Wayne Newton must really be gettin' down these days). I respect everyone's opinions and their right to voice thm, but come on!! [Edited 2/7/06 17:30pm]

this album seems to be on its way to another prince classic... those that disagree are probably useless anyway.

These are the same fans who love the awful Rainbow Chicklets. Ahh, spoken like a true "contrarian"... Aren't you the same person who started a "Kamusutra is pretty good" thread today? Credibility...Zero!

Credibility...Zero! I'm glad someone else noticed that too. I was like, . The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Only a contrarian loves all music. You are bigoted against classical, not me. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and a bunch of others are amazing composers of the past.
Prince doesn't do classical, at least not on Kamasutra. It was trash. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Haven't read much about responses, but I can easily say.
If you don't love it, you need to listen to some old Prince for awhile, until he's back for you again. Listen to all the 90s stuff and hope for him to come back. He's back for us funk/rock lovers. I think "Fury" is the next "Lets Go Crazy". A minor (as in the chord) funked up tribute to Hendrix combined with Prince's own style. You have to love it.

Remember how good Life of the Party sounded live?????..... I feel you. I just watched the SNL performance again. Damn, that's hot. I hope more than a shred of that energy is in the recording. Mad Sex seemed much better live before it was released as well, then the NPS came out and it seemed flat to me on record. Some things are just so much better played live ... i liked Face Down on Emancipation, but that song was Amazing live. slapping the one eyed base, all of us screaming "play that mutha f**king base" (back when prince condoned swearing ) ... its rare to capture that electricity on alblum.

Well i really liked it first time, and I rarely like songs first time. I really disliked Te Amo Corazon first time i heard it, Black Sweat was ok, and B,L&B was nice.
Ive not seen the performance, but the audio was enough for me to know this is a great song. It definitely gives me the Endorphin Machine vibe, i hope he doesnt go overboard with the synths like he did with the album version of that though. 3121 is definitely going to be a box of chocolates kind of record, but Prince cant help but make those. Heres the token rock song, heres the funk/pop number, heres the romantic R&B ballad, its what he does, and has excelled in doing since he gave us "Prince" 25 years ago. In recent times, it sometimes works (Musicology), and sometimes it sounds contrived (Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic), but for fans to say they want the funk or they want the rock just aint right as hes always given us both.
