Moving this to this thread makes no sense.

well, i disagree...you create a thread like that and the song gets lost into the third/fourth page of this forum..now, it lives on...

Damn, March 21s is soooo far away! I'm so ready for this album, I like all the songs.

1.Black Sweat/Fury (both TOTALLY different of course, I cannot decide which one I like more. Although we haven't heard the studio version of Fury)

2.BLB (Nice. I find myself humming this a lot actually. Dig the jam at the end!)

3.Te Amo Corazon (I like this one, too, but it pales in comparison)

I starting to like the song after a third listening. The song is growing on me. I am founding myself singing it along with Black Sweat. Prince looked so fione especially with the suit and the rag on his hair. I cant wait to get 3121.

So far out of four nods here is what I think of the songs:
Fury: nod nod nod
Black Sweat: nod nod nod nod
Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed: nod nod nod
Te Amo: disbelief disbelief disbelief disbelief

My conclusion: 3121 is going to be the best album that I like entirety since SOTT. I am vowed to see Prince in live in the summer and I going to put some overtime hours in my home-based job. He is so worth it.

hmmmm.... I think that if he goes into the screeching and falsetto in a rocksong, he might repulse the mainstream of today.... I happen to like the low voice on Peach... that was refreshing to hear from him... but then again who can predict?

Its a wrap...

3121 is on its way 2 become a classic

All these tunes including Te Amo have touched me deep inside unlike anything on Musicology (which I thoughwas very solid) but this....ahhh...this is

THE REAL DEAL

Fury - WOW! What an unexpectd victory - I have 2 see this and hear it again SOON!!
His guitar work was on the mark - the build, the build, and than that ending!!! Great vocal gymnastics that were flawless! This song embodies all that is P - Rock, Pop, Funk, Folk, S-e-x

Good job P! Once again proving he is a musical GENIUS! cool

I knew something was missing in the song but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It's the falsetto. This song would have been really hot sung in his sassy falsetto. It just seems kind of bland, generic, and ordinary without it. As far as it pissing off today's mainstream, well, that would be a good thing. evillol

It sounded great. Many here are certainly effusive about the song. Fans have been waiting for a real rocker for ages.

The dancers look like a big mistake. Whether he's trying to evoke Ike and Tina or JB, it looks awfully dated, especially on this small stage. The choreography is too Solid Gold for words.

GAH!!! People!! Stop saying the 90's Prince sucks! Please! Some of my most dear P songs comes from that era. I do honestly believe the 80's era, though good, is just considered too holy, too godly. Probably due to the popularity and the movie and things like this...Purple Rain was good, but not THAT good. Listening to the songs now...and besides When Does Cry and maybe Purple Rain...they ALL sound dated and pretty "meh" to me. Give me some Emancipation and even Rave...(The Greatest Romance Ever Sold...mmm!!) and Im good. (Obviously Black Sweat is my fav of the newbies...but Fury was great for the guitar playing alone. Wowzas!)

theres nothing sad about liking Emancipation and his 90s output , lots of us got into Prince in the 1990s and love that decade of music , get over it .
As for the new songs , liking Fury a lot , it does seem to be missing a solid
chorus ( as does TAC and Black Sweat ) but its very encouraging that Prince seems to have some more energetic and passionate music on the way , certainly
have higher hopes for 3121 now anyway .

I may prefer funk over rock but considering the rediculous state of R&B today, I'd much rather see Prince do a rock song than do a watered down sell out sounding R&B song simply to get radio airplay. So, by all means Prince, rock on.

It's alright.

His guitar playing was breathtaking, but the song itself just doesn't have much of a memorable hook or chorus.

I don't think Prince knows how to write a song that's catchy anymore.

I don't know... like I've said before, the 'Black Sweat' chorus is stuck in my head. It's not a particularly great melody, but something about the rhythm of the vocals and the arrangement make it catchy to me. Same goes for the bridge of 'Fury'.
And what's this "Prince cannot do this and that anymore"? He doesn't rock out anymore, he doesn't do synth-loaded raw dance funk anymore... you see, one of these days he will. And I think now just might be this day.

Thanks Moon for backing me up. =P. Im a newbie, but hey...I like what I like. The 80's just didn't get me clickin' quite as much. I don't know. Im sure Prince would be quite happy that SOMEBODY was listening to his 90's stuff...and LIKING it. Lol. Thats my 2cents.

Like alot of great rock songs the hook is not in the lyrics, it is in the guitar lick.

This song rocks! woot!
