Black Sweat is a great dirty sexy funky tune and there is nothing weak in the chorus. I love it... very James Brownish and electrofunk.

Fury is . An instant classic as well.

te Amo Corazon : nice ballad (great arrangements). Not a clzassicbut can fit perfectly in the flow of a Prince CD.

You can do that even for his past work. Examples: 1999 - too electronic, Purple Rain - too commercial, ATWIAD - too much 60's influence, and so on.

In other words: YOU seem to prefer music with more sing-along type choruses, but does that make a tune bad if it doesn't have that kind of chorus, or is it just something YOU dislike?

I still find the hook of "Fury" very memorable btw...

AT LAST I HEARD WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN RANTING ABOUT!!!! Living in the UK, I can't watch SNL anywhere and have instead spent the last few days salivating over the comments about it here and on other forums. But I found it online at last!! Watched both clips and WOW!!!! In fact both songs are great, but Fury being so powerful you kind of forget there was another track!

Now, humming and humming it I knew it reminded me of something, and eventually my humming morphed in to: WHITESNAKE - Fool For Your Loving!!!! you know the one with guitars by Steve Vai.....I think our man actually played this just to impress Stevie who we know is a big fan too....!!!! Prince is pretty much the only mainstream musician's website that he has a link to from his home page vai.com.

Anyone agree or not...?

You can watch Fury at Housequake and there is a way to save HQ clips to your computer... (Although I don't know how to isolate only the audio part for burning to a cd or iPod) Can anyone tell me if there is a way to do that?

Yes, technically the song has a hook, but it isn't a very good one imo. The lyrics are kinda cute, the guitar is awesome, but the song just doesn't stick with me. Sounds a little too much like a Vegas show tune.

Sure, they will admit to liking songs from the "recent past", in an effort to prove how they're not biased, but they will never admit to it when a song/project is the most current release.
