The Brits is on this month, hopefully these are all warm up gigs so he can announce his new group in style on TV and then sell out some big arenas at the end the month.

I dont understand why you would think the arenas would not sell out !!

At the end of the day the casual music goer will attend just to see Prince because of his live reputation

The casual music fan will not care who Prince is playing with, all they will see is PRINCE headlining.

2 days at Hyde Park x 40,000 easy

I guess it depends. I'm really excited at maybe (and it's a big fucking maybe with this 'tour')seeing the girls of 3rdeye girl...but I'm going to see Prince as we all do whether he's with 3EG,NPG,NPS....B&Q,YTS,BFG ETC

The 3rdeyeGirl clips show they can fill fairly big venues already. It eoujdbt be the same in a cavernous space but they'd fill it for sure

Completely agree. We're not all getting excited at seeing 3EG, it's Prince. 3EG as a standalone band without Prince would not fill arenas (no offence 3EG). Prince would though, no question, so whatever band he's playing with, if Prince is there, we're there.

Hi all,I'm working in London this week but it seems a fat chance of getting tickets unless able to queue for hours on the strength of a rumour. For someone who is not twitter savvy (no smart phone) what is the latest- anything looking hopeful yet? Where do y'all 'hear it first'?Cheers,C

I'd say here is the best place to find out about shows. There's a great network of fans here that share all the news very quickly. And as for not being able to queue, for the second Electric Ballroom show and the Shep Bush show, you could have turned up quite late and still got in....so worth chancing it if you're in London anyway.

Yeah and the Gold Tour was Prince and it didn't sell out, people want the hits...not slowed down versions and material from albums that no one is familiar with i.e 3EG, Chaos and Disorder etc etc

Even on post show come down, its clear from the words of gig big hitters (the few of us with serious three digit attendances) that this was up there with the very best. Certainly outside of after shows, is up there with Dublin Point 95.

I never knew Dublin 95 was held in such high regard. I thought I was just biased.

To be fair, He did sell out arenas, but if i remember he added dates on that didnt completey sell out. And it was right in the middle of the name change , which he got mainly bad press for, and he said he wouldnt play any hits either! But now he has the living legend mode going, and he is playing some of his so called hits.

It's strange going to work each morning not knowing whether you'll be going to see Prince later that evening...

Yeah, I'm sure there is going to be something this week so I'll be keeping a change of clothes in my car just in case. Kind of glad I won't have to go tonight wearing brown slacks and beige shoes.....................

Well, I have a meeting in Westminster 2-4 tomorrow, so if P decides he wants to play across the road at Union Chapel I'm game on, but I'll have to where my suit to the gig. That will be a first for me!

Whsts everyone's feeling? Do u reckon they'll announce with enough time to allow for that and queue?

I actually like a man in a suit. I'm not getting caught out again though, I've prepared shoes, jeans and a top which is going into the boot of my car tomorrow and is staying there until I get a chance to wear it. To a Prince gig. I'm not missing out again. I've learned my lesson from Sunday.

If it's billed as Prince & 3rd Eye Girl, they woudlnt haave a problem filling an arena for a couple of nights.

Woops, yep, I meant Westminster City Hall! Great venue. I can't take spare clothes as I'm on the train. If I keep my suit on just for you, can I tie my tie around my head like rambo lol

Prince can sell out arenas if he wants to sell out arenas. He had little difficulty selling out the O2 arena for 21 nights in 2007 and he'd have little difficulty now.

However, larger venues require better notice and mean playing more hits. Shepherd's Bush on Sunday was not only the best Prince gig I've ever seen (and I've seen many), but the greatest gig I've ever witnessed by anyone. I'd much rather Prince continue to perform songs he is most passionate about and is emotionally connected to. He seems completely energised and is on blazing form.

Can't you just PRETEND it was mediocre.

I wrestled with my conscience with ditching my family and driving down to London and was just about to go when they announced £70. Hmmm I thought by the time I get there it'll be packed and I might not get in...time passed, not packed 'ah but still £70 which I don't have "

Wrong!!!

I do wonder what you look like though. I could be standing next to you at a Prince concert and wouldn't know it was you. I don't recall seeing you in 2007 either, I didn't take you up on your offer to sit on your shoulders at the 21st September Indigo2 gig, remember?!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to meet you all on the last night, but my meeting over ran. I had a quick beer with TheEnglishGent on arrival as everyone else had gone in. Aftershow would have been fun. We should all put our pictures up here so we know who to look for at the next gig. As for the aftershow offer, would have been fine. Which way did I suggest facing?? lol

Naughty naughty! I don't recall you specifying, we'll give it a try next time. Yeah, I agree, pics is a good idea, a really good idea. We should definitely do that! Very few, if any, actually have a pic of ourselves under our screen name on here.
