Better check it out now before it's pulled.

typing

If it gets pulled, just search for Bruno Mars on YouTube, and when the results come up, click on "Filters" and click on "Last Hour" or "Today." It was a little over 13 minutes, so you'll want to look for videos with that listed as the approximate time. After more than 24 hours, you'll probably want to search for Bruno Mars Superbowl or Bruno Mars Halftime to keep the results narrowed down.

And I agree, he KILLED it! One of my high school acquaintances on Facebook who's a total redneck apparently thought it was weird or something. I just wanted to comment "OMG BROWN PEOPLE ON STAGE!!!!!" Seriously, there is no pleasing some people. I'm always really impressed with his live vocals.

I thought Bruno did a fine job. I think he should've ended on a dance number rather than a ballad but he had a strong performance. Yup, and all the screaming teens were out in force just like when I saw him live. nod lol As for Beyawnce--I haven't even seen her half-time performance. lol

lol I noticed that, too! The first time I saw him live, it was only because Janelle was his opening act. It's a testament to his talent that I managed to enjoy his performance despite all the teenagers losing their minds.

Super Bowl halftime review: Bruno Mars shines in his big moment

Bruno Mars performs during the halftime show of the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII football game between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks in East Rutherford, New Jersey, February 2, 2014. REUTERS/Andrew Kelly (UNITED STATES - Tags: SPORT FOOTBALL ENTERTAINMENT)

As far as Super Bowl halftime shows go, this year’s was heavy on showmanship and shoulda-coulda.

Back in September, the NFL made a bold announcement: pompadoured singer-songwriter Bruno Mars would provide the tunes during the intermission of Super Bowl XLVIII. Then, in January, an update: Mars would be joined by a rock band that formed two years before he was born.

So on Sunday night in New Jersey, Mars sang for the biggest audience of his life alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers when he should have – and easily could have — done it on his own.

How confident was the 28-year-old pop sensation ? Confident enough to kick the entire thing off with a drum solo. From there, he was as charismatic as he was physical, channeling Sting’s sense of melody during “Locked Out of Heaven” and James Brown’s hamstrings during “Runaway Baby.” And somewhere in the middle of it all, the Chili Peppers materialized to romp through their 1991 hit “Give It Away.”

The alt-rock legends were presumably roped into this gig to quell the jitters of older viewers unfamiliar with Mars and his highly flexible brand of R&B. But Mars is a big deal on his own — and by various metrics.

His two albums – 2010’s “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” and 2012’s “Unorthodox Jukebox” — have sold more than three million copies in the U.S. There are two Grammy awards sitting on his mantel. He has five No. 1 singles – the same number as Prince. And if you measure greatness in sweat, Mars has spilled buckets of it since his “Moonshine Jungle” tour kicked off in Washington last June. (It returns to the area in July.)

But the NFL is still playing it safe 10 years after “Nipplegate” — that fateful evening when millions upon millions of Americans watched Justin Timberlake expose Janet Jackson’s right breast for nine-sixteenths of a second. Since then, the NFL has avoided the edge by tapping the biggest names available: Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, the Who and, last year, Beyonce.

That made their choice to book Mars feel both risky and refreshing. Closing the set with his croony ballad, “Just the Way You Are,” Mars wore a triumphant smile, seemingly aware he was a risk well worth taking.

Bruno Mars gives a forgettable Super Bowl halftime show for the ages

[img:$uid]http://usatftw.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/usatsi_7711147.jpg?w=640&h=412[/img:$uid]

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Fifty years ago this week, the Beatles made their first appearance in New York.

We listened to The Beatles. We grew up with The Beatles. You, Bruno Mars, are no Beatles.

Despite the best attempts of the NFL and Pepsi to sell Mars as a pop idol worthy of shrieking girls and an audience of 110 million people, the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show was a wholly unspectacular production that will join Tom Petty and The Who in the annals of instantly-forgettable halftime entertainment.

There was a palpable electricity in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome before Beyonce’s performance last year – until there was no actual electricity moments afterward- and Mars’ show just didn’t match that. It’s not really the fault of the 28-year-old Hawaii native, whose two albums fail to give him the legacy of previous performers like Prince, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones.

[img:$uid]http://usatftw.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/usatsi_7711164.jpg?w=640&h=413[/img:$uid]

Perhaps the game’s 22-0 halftime margin had sucked much of the energy out of the sold out MetLife Stadium crowd or maybe the loudest members just hadn’t returned from their journeys to the restroom and concession stands, but Mars’ performance didn’t seem to have impact of previous performers in that spot.

Until the appearance by the always-game Red Hot Chili Peppers, the show felt like a snooze. It belonged at the People’s Choice Awards, not on the Super Bowl stage. It’s not great when a band in their 50s has to perform a 23-year-old song to inject energy into the biggest 15 minutes of the music year.

Look, we’re not immune to the charms of Bruno Mars. Grenade may or may not have been stuck in our head for the past 72 hours. He has some undeniable swag. He knows what makes a good melody and hook. Those dance moves are nice.

That other USA Today article is irrelevant as it was written by an idiot lol THIS article is the only one from USA Today that matters nod

Did the Super Bowl make a superstar out of Bruno Mars?

Brian Mansfield, Special for USA TODAY10:05 p.m. EST February 2, 2014

His records are more famous than he is, but that may have all changed Sunday night

The Super Bowl has made cultural icons out of quarterbacks, running backs and Budweiser frogs. Why shouldn't it do the same for halftime headliner Bruno Mars?

Mars wasn't the biggest name that the biggest game could have booked. Compared to the superstars who have performed for the past several years — Beyoncé, Madonna, the Black Eyed Peas, The Who,Bruce Springsteen — he's a relative unknown.

But the Super Bowl has a way of elevating those who step up their game in the spotlight. And Mars, the Hawaii-born pop/R&B singer whose style draws on Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and a wide range of '60s and '70s soul, has made a career out of doing just that.

The fireworks over MetLife Stadium were secondary to Mars' incendiary, 2.2 million tweet-generating set, which was packed with hits and steeped in history, starting with a blackout that recalled last year's Super Bowl in New Orleans. Dressed in a gold lamé jacket and black tuxedo pants, Mars established his musician credentials quickly, starting his set behind the drum kit before launching into a 12-minute medley that launched withLocked Out of Heaven then segued seamlessly into Treasure and Runaway Baby.

MORE: Mars' Super Bowl set lights up Twitter, too

ALSO: History suggests Bruno Mars can expect nice sales spike

Mars' eight-piece band is modeled after the R&B revue style of James Brown and the old Motown Records tour, a setup perfectly suited for a halftime show that requires musicians to shift suddenly in a punched-up medley of shortened songs. Mars paid tribute to the bands of that era, inserting a few bars of the Isley Brothers' Shout! intoRunaway Baby before breaking into a dance routine borrowed directly from Brown, then introducing the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Give It Away. He even added a patriotic touch at the end, with members of the military dedicating Just the Way You Are to family members and loved ones.

Many Super Bowl viewers may not have made the connection between Mars' image and his music before Sunday night, but for anyone who has turned on a radio in the past four years, he's been inescapable.

In an era where pop-music celebrities often are best-known for their outrageous style and outsized personalities, Mars is a musician's' musician, a bandleader and a true showman, the kind of entertainer with an appeal that can cross generations.

Mars may not have been the biggest entertainer the Super Bowl has booked, but he came in with something to prove. He probably left with his Moonshine Jungle world tour, which goes on sale Monday, being a hotter ticket than this year's game.

Bruno Mars' Super Bowl show lights up Twitter, too

Brian Mansfield, Special for USA TODAY9:55 p.m. EST February 2, 2014

Carrie Underwood, Gavin DeGraw and others rave about Mars' star turn at the big game.

Hillary Clinton may have had the tweet of the Super Bowl — saying, "It's so much more fun to watch FOX when it's someone else being blitzed & sacked!" — but Bruno Mars got plenty of Twitter action for his halftime set.

Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers generated 2.2 million tweets during their 12-minute show, including raves from Carrie Underwood, Steve Harvey, Eva Longoria and Jordin Sparks.

"Entrance on drums, James brown, chili peppers, I loved that whole thing," said actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Gavin DeGraw said Mars "tore up that halftime performance," while Sparks said she got chills when Mars broke out James Brown's signature dance moves.

Bruno Mars delivers red hot set at Super Bowl

Anybody worried about how Bruno Mars would do on one of the world's largest stages had obviously never seen the young star perform live. That all changed Sunday night when tens of millions got their first chance to see why he's one of the most exciting live acts of his generation.

AP Music Writer

Anybody worried about how Bruno Mars would do on one of the world's largest stages had obviously never seen the young star perform live. That all changed Sunday night when tens of millions got their first chance to see why he's one of the most exciting live acts of his generation.

Mars, 28, took his high-powered live show to Super Bowl halftime, creating what felt like an intimate show in the arena in East Rutherford, N.J., and supersizing it in what has become a defining moment for those who preceded him on the list of halftime performers in the big game.

The Grammy Award-winning singer eliminated any doubters from the second he appeared on screen in a skinny tie and gold jacket almost as dazzling as his smile. He played a deep-groove drum solo while rolling across the field on a raised, motorized platform, then joined his smoking-hot live band for a series of energetically executed hits that were clearly not lip-synced. He then seamlessly integrated the Red Hot Chili Peppers into his set.

"There were a lot of doubters and my man delivered," Fox commentator Howie Long said after the performance.

Hard to disagree. There were no flubs, no negative moments that will live on at the water cooler Monday morning. And while you can argue about the entertainment value of watching shirtless Chili Peppers gambol about the stage, the 50-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famers managed to match Mars' energy in a brief appearance that was no less memorable.

Mars trades in shared memories, taking the best of acts that have come before like the infectiousness of Sting and The Police, or the groove of James Brown, and updating them with lyrics and sounds that capture the freshness of the current moment. He opened by displaying the beauty of his high tenor with the sing-a-long-inviting "Locked Out of Heaven" and "Treasure" before transitioning to "Runaway Baby."

That song, with its Brown-flavored beat, allowed the Hawaiian-born singer to dance in homage to "Soul Brother Number One," complete with an impressive gymnastics-style split as part of his moves. He broke down the band to silence and killed the lights for a moment, allowing the crowd's screams to be heard at home, before transitioning to the Chili Peppers and the funky "Give It Away."

The Chili Peppers, which included singer Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea sans shirts in temperatures that hovered in the 40s, powered through the song, then joined Mars and his Hooligans in a quick few bars from Black Sabbath.

Mars and his eight-piece band, The Hooligans, were dressed from head-to-toe in custom-made clothes from Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane.

Fox cut to video segments of soldiers around the world dedicating the next song to loved ones before going back to Mars. He appeared alone on a small stage in the center of the field where he sang the ballad "Just the Way You Are" with the stands full of lights and the sky aflame with the biggest fireworks display in NFL Super Bowl history.

It was a powerful moment and compared favorably to past performances by stars like Prince and Bruce Springsteen.

There was never a dull moment. That's about all you can ask, especially in a game that was full of them.

Best Halftime show since Bruce Springsteen. True musicianship, real instruments, ZERO autotune, the RHCP!!!!! and his dancing was exactly like James Brown, but awesome nonetheless. This man has got the talent

The recurring comments I keep seeing from people is that 1) They have become a new fan of Bruno Mars after seeing him perform tonight and 2) That this was the best halftime show since Prince's! eek

It always cracks me up after the Superbowl each year how people suddenly "discover" and artist immediately after the game but I guess if you're the artist, being in front of 300 million people for 20 minutes can't be that bad for your career smile

Watch Bruno Mars Rock With the Chili Peppers at the Super Bowl

Super-bowl-halftime-show-bruno-mars4

Bruno Mars pulled off a spectacular Super Bowl halftime show performance Sunday with a spirited assist from his eight-piece band, The Hooligans, as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Mars is the youngest artist to ever serve as a sole halftime show headliner.

The 28-year-old pop star opened the show on the drums for "Billionaire," a Travie McCoy song on which he was featured in 2009, before launching into his doo-wop swagger with a hip-swinging performance of "Locked Out of Heaven."

Mars, who was named Billboard's 2013 Artist of the Year, followed those songs up with a rambunctious rendition of "Runaway Baby." He closed the set with "Just The Way You Are," which began with an emotional video of troops addressing their loved ones.

Between "Runaway" and "Just The Way You Are," the Red Hot Chili Peppers joined Bruno Mars onstage to rock out on "Give It Away." The acclaimed band — consisting of singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer — was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 after selling more than 60 million albums and winning six Grammys over three decades together. Mars won a Grammy Award this year for Best Pop Album for his sophomore album,Unorthodox Jukebox.

Before the performance, Bruno Mars told his 17.6 million Twitter followers to use Shazam's app during his halftime show. People who did that got an exclusive video of him performing "If I Knew" during a Paris show from his "Moonshine Jungle" tour.

Last year, more than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched Beyonce's electrifying halftime show, which was also broadcast worldwide.

LOVED the drum kit, loved everything literally

I wished RCHP were there longer and I wished they'd make a more coherent stage appearance but oh well them Chili Peppers are too funky they can't stop (Flea played bass like hard!!)

The best Super Bowl since Prince & Springsteen. No other show can come THIS close. I'm so glad it paid off, his albums are now on TOP and every one is admitting his talent & musicanship.
