Finding The Funk(VH1 Documentary)

There's a very good documentary on VH1 right now called Finding the Funk.

It chronicles the history of funk from James Brown, Sly Stone, The Ohio

Players, Slave, etc. from 10:00-11:30.

It repeats at 1:30 am

Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Slave2daGroove

twocents

Finally some respect for those 70s funk bands (Slave, Ohio Players, etc).

Sly needs to stay off camera now. Disco is not funk.

Not enough spent on James Brown but they covered a lot in 90 minutes.

Anything Funk is good television.

Abdul

I watched this last night and like Slave2daGroove said they didn't spend enough time on JB but other then that they did a good job in that 90 minutes.

You can watch it here: http://www.vh1.com/video/...list.jhtml (And, as I've just found out, non-US orgers can get access to watch it using Tunnel Bear.) thumbs up!

Been looking forward to seeing this documentary.

Thank you, I missed the broadcast.

No probs. biggrin Actually, as it happens, I used up the measly 500MB per month Tunnel Bear allows its free account customers watching Janelle's Superbowl Blitz performance on the American VH-1 site, so I still haven't seen more than the first few minutes of the doc. I hereby withdraw my endorsement of those cheap bastids! lol
