Bruno was slick, but really low impact compared to The Red Hot Chili Peppers... they were amazing. But of course they really know how to plug right into a strong vibe.
One thing Bruno did that I've alway hoped Prince would do at a big show performance, is open on the drums. Prince would really suprose quite a few if he ever did that at a big performance on TV.

The intro on the drums must be God's apologies for the Black Eyed Peas dismal performance a few years ago. Bruno is an amazing talent!

Who did last year's halftime show? Anyone remember?
I was on another messageboard immediately following the halftime performance cuz I wanted to see people's reactions especially from those who doubted Bruno.
Lets just say that Bruno did in fact gain some new fans and folks talking about going to buy tickets to his tour which go on sale tomorrow. Some of them critics admitting they were wrong about Bruno and giving him his due props for slaying this halftime show.
TOUCHDOWN!
I liked to know myself because I definitly can't remember
Bruno's halftime was WAYYYYY better and more creative than last year. NOBODY remembers last years I am so happy he decided to open up with the drums so people can see his musicianship. He pretty much stuck with his well known songs. I love his old school flare and influences. He really stand outs from the rest of his peers. This was a good live show. All that extra stuff is not needed to put on a good live show.
I also liked that he dedicated a segment in his show to his fans/public. I think that was nice because it does not always have to be about the actual entertainer. It is good to cover a theme with a positive and universal message. Bruno said his favs with MJ and Prince and I think he definitly took a page out of MJ's book on that. I also loved the James Brown moves and the awesome split lol

Bruno came along I think at the peak of the disastrous autotune era....to say he stands out from his peers is an understatement Very glad to see him (and his fabulous band) reminding people that real music is refreshing....congrats to all the Bruno fans out there, you proved all the haters wrong

Too different to compare,,, the chili peppers brought it with the guitars though.
But they can't dance like Bruno and look that pretty doing it!

RHCP should have been the headliners with him as their guest. Bruno Mars himself was a poor choice to headline this show. He didn't keep my attention at all.

Girl I felt like passing out moments BEFORE the show! The tension was real! But I stayed strong for my Bruno and as soon as he hit the stage that tension and nervousness left and I was on my feet dancing and hollerin and yellin GO BABY GO!!!!
It was a great show. Bruno delivered and more and anyone who says otherwise is STRAIGHT UP LYING!

Last year's halftime over 10 million viewers tuned out and was very low compared to the previous year and there were over a 1,000 complaints made BUT you never here nobody talk about that
I thought Bruno did a fine job. I think he should've ended on a dance number rather than a ballad but he had a strong performance. Yup, and all the screaming teens were out in force just like when I saw him live. As for Beyawnce--I haven't even seen her half-time performance.
