That's all right, we're all human. lol I can love most of Madonna's legacy and still enjoy some of Lady GaGa's songs--although GaGa also owes part of her sound to Madonna. Nothing under the sun is original--everyone imitates and builds on what comes before them. It's all good--as long as an artist makes it her own sound in the end. wink

nod Madonna owes a lot to Cher and Marilyn, sadly she seems to forget this lol

I don't know if she so much forgets it as not thinking about it and keep on moving to the next thing, much as Prince does. lol Too bad their collaboration wasn't very good; two Alphas do not a duet make! lol

I thonk the problem was that they didn't go for a dance song. Considering both artists are awesome at them, I thik it would have turned out better.

Why does she support the far less talented Kylie and Britney but do this to Gaga?

My guess is jealousy. Madonna can't play any instruments as well as Gaga can piano.

I thought Madge played the guitar.

I agree--it wasn't the right type of song at all--Prince should have known better! razz lol

Actually I saw GaGa play piano and sing on a local news clip before she blew up big with the Fame Monster LP and I tried to get a ticket at a local venue for only $35 but it was already sold out. Try to get that price now... razz lol

lol Well, I hope you get to see Madonna--although you may have seen her a million times. For me, even though I started listening to her in the early 80s, this will be my first time seeing her live--so, I am really looking forward to these shows. wink

I've never seen Madonna live either. I've only been a big fan since Confessions On A Dance Floor and she wasn't near me during the Confessions Tour and I wasn't going to go see that mess called the Sticky & Sweet Tour lol

I absolutely LOVE Confessions On A Dance Floor and believe it or not I only heard it shortly before I got the MDNA album for the first time. eek What a great one that is! I like a lot of songs on MDNA deluxe, also, and that is one reason why I really want to see Madonna in concert now as opposed to later--when she might start doing Vegas like Cher. This might be the last gig before the oldies circuit--but I don't think so. I think Madge still has another Confessions left in her...

The rock remix of Hung Up from the Sticky and Sweet tour was too noisy and really sucked. I hope she doesn't go for it again.

I'm really missing Beautiful Killer, which I think is by far the best MDNA song. A new Madonna classic, she proved she can still do it. I think it's similar to Papa Don't Preach (the dramatic mood, the string arragement, the mid-tempo). It'd be cool if she played them together.

Some lists say Deeper and Deeper, some don't. I pray she'll sing it, 'cause it's definitely one of her best songs and she hasn't played it on tour except for the Blond Ambition, I think.

The 60's pop vibe of many songs from MDNA like Give Me All Your Luvin', B'day Song and I'm a Sinner really call for the tour her past 60's pop flavoured songs, so that this tour really should include songs from Like a Prayer like Cherish, and, of course, her greatest 60's song, Beautiful Stranger.

And I definately hope she stops doing these bad mash ups. There were a lot on the Sticky and Sweet tour (almost all didn't work). If she's really intending to mash up Music with that stupid LMFAO song, that would be it. Music started in 2000 with that incredibly catchy blend of 70's funk and French house (and that awesome exploitation video by Akerlund) and now it's turning into the most cheap and generic dance anthem.

But, most of all, I hope she sings live, the most she can. I have to agree, it's really pathetic this lip syncing thing, specially a lip syncing tour. In the Blonde Ambition tour she sang most of it. She had the help of background singers, alright, but that's a zillion times better than the help of back tapes. I know the choreography moves are nice, but what really matters in a singer is never gonna be anything alse but the voice. She can dance, but if it's gonna affect the singing, making her sing less or not even sing, leave it out. Simple as that.

I don't think Madonna's THAT desperate lol expecially considering she hates her old hits. Confessions is still one of my favorites by her. I got into Madonna because of Hung Up. Because I live in the U.S it didn't get a lot of airplay but when I heard it, I fell in love with it and was really mad no one played it so I bought the album.

Could 2012 be Madonna's most lucrative year? hmmm

Madonna's 2012 Income: Pop Star's Empire Poised To Earn $500 Million
Posted: 05/10/2012 6:15 pm

Madonna isn't called a "Material Girl" for nothing. Here's a breakdown of what she's poised to pocket in 2012 -- it could be as much as $500 million in one year alone.

- $300 million from her MDNA World Tour. Live Nation announced $240 Million in ticket sales before a South American leg was added, which could earn an additional $40 million-plus. An Australian leg of the tour is being announced shortly.

- Industry insiders say $75 million in tour merchandise sales is not unlikely. This has always been a huge moneymaker for Madonna, who will have an even bigger spread of merchandise available at her upcoming shows.

- $60 million is expected in sales for her new perfume, Truth or Dare, according to Women's Wear Daily.

- Insiders report that Madonna made $10 million from her recent deal with Smirnoff. The company has been hyping her tour with TV spots and has just released a special "Madonna" edition bottle of their vodka.

- The Queen of Pop is hoping to rake in $10 million in TV and DVD worldwide rights for the broadcast of her upcoming tour.

- Retail experts say Madonna will earn $5 million in 2012 from her "Material Girl" clothing line and upcoming Macy's lingerie line.

It's good to be Queen!

Madonna’s U.S. Tour Dates ‘Inches From Sellout’

Wall Street Journal

Madonna has sold 653,000 tickets to the 43 North American dates on her upcoming concert tour, an executive with concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment Inc. said, putting it on track to be one of the top-grossing outings on record.

About 30,000 tickets remain available for the tour’s 36 U.S. shows, Live Nation head of global touring Arthur Fogel said, adding most of those are either single tickets or seats that are set aside for disabled concertgoers.

“We are inches from sellout everywhere,” Mr. Fogel said in a telephone interview Thursday. Tickets for U.S. dates went on sale in mid-February and range in price from around $45 to more than $350. Some premium-priced ticket packages run $600 per person.

The North American leg of the tour is slated to begin Aug. 28 at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center arena and end Nov. 20 with two dates at Miami’s American Airlines Arena. Other stops include Yankee Stadium, Staples Center in Los Angeles and Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Mr. Fogel said that around 30% of ticket buyers had signed up for a free copy of the singer’s most recent album, “MDNA”—an offer that was available only to customers in the U.S. He said that acceptance rate was on the high end for such offers.

Of the tickets sold in North America, Mr. Fogel said, 500,000 were in the U.S. Those free-album offers fueled a healthy first week for “MDNA,” according to Nielsen SoundScan, which reported 359,000 copies sold in the U.S. In subsequent weeks, the album’s sales have slowed considerably, and it has now sold a total 456,000 copies in six weeks.

Mr. Fogel said that between 200,000 and 250,000 of those sales represented albums given away with concert tickets.

“MDNA” has not generated a significant hit on pop radio and was No. 65 on the album-sales chart released Wednesday by SoundScan. It has fared better on Billboard’s dance and electronic music char, where it was No. 2 last week. Two songs from the album, “Gang Bang” and “Girl Gone Wild,” have charted on the magazine’s electronic-music chart.

Madonna and Live Nation have an unusual 10-year contract that they struck in 2007, under which the promoter guaranteed the pop star $120 million in exchange for rights to a wide range of her business, including promoting her concert tours and releasing her albums. The company contracted out the distribution and promotion of “MDNA” to Universal Music Group’s Interscope records.

The world tour is to kick off May 31 in Tel Aviv, followed by stops in Abu Dhabi, Istanbul and various European cities. It is scheduled to wrap up with a handful of dates in Latin America late November and December.

b30bf181ca073fb219fa99d41c973b42 Hot Shots: Madonna Covers Vanity Fair Italia, Drops MDNA Tour Trailer

Vogue’ vixen Madonna strikes quite the pose on the latest issue of ‘Vanity Fair Italia’. The magazine, which has seen Madge as its covergirl eight previous times, hit newsstands yesterday. But, while the promoting her first fragrance ‘Truth Or Dare’, the singer’s latest effort ‘MDNA’ dropped down the charts faster than the ‘Holiday’ hitmaker has shed her clothes in years past, that hasn’t veered the 53-year-old pop queen from pressing forward promoting its accompanying tour.

A tour, mind you, which had already grossed over $200 million in pre-sales in mid-April. Ka-ching! Check out the trailer and more pics from the Vanity Fair set below:

When you see Madonna on a talk show this week promoting her new album MDNA (out today!) or during one of the stops on her world tour, which kicks off on May 29, you’ll be checking out moves choreographed by former Broadway dancer Nicole Winhoffer. She appeared in shows like Wicked and 42nd Street, among others, before joining the Material Girl for her Sticky and Sweet Tour in 2009. Winhoffer, who is also a personal trainer, now works in the gym with Madonna six days a week to ensure that she’s ready for her grueling performances.

We caught up with Winhoffer to take a peek behind the scenes and to learn more about how everyone can train just like the amazing 53-year-old pop star!

If our readers could steal one trick from your work with Madonna, what would that be?

Body awareness. One must engage their mind while performing their exercises. Time and time again, I see people reading papers or watching TV while they work out. This might bring about injury and if the mind is not connected to the body, you can’t exert the proper amounts of energy needed to gain the desired results.

You were in Indianapolis to help Madonna prepare for the Super Bowl and are now gearing up to go on tour with her. How do you prepare for each performance?

Right before the show, we warm-up in her dressing room. We complete active hamstring stretch sequences as well as other stretches, ensure joint mobility by performing jumps on the ground and on trampolines and do ab work. As a result, her body is connected, warm and ready for the performance.

Only on its 6th week, MDNA is already out of the Billboard Top 50 albums!!!
Even oldschool artists also with no song on the radio and with mature audiences only are doing better.

How many copies sold the 65th album this week? 2 thousand?

WTF... I can't understand what happens to Madonna in the US.

The MDNA Tour is getting near and Madonnatribe has heard some exclusive tidbits about the video backdrops.

Go Ahead To Be Spoiled

The amazing talent of Dago González, who directed some of the most amazing backdrop videos for Madonna ever such as Paradise Not For Me and Bedtime Story will be again part of a Madonna tour. We have heard that Dago is at the moment filming several backdrops for the MDNA tour.

One of the last backdrops to be filmed is the one for Masterpiece, so we can confirm the amazing, fan favourite song from the W.E. soundtrack is definitely part of the setlist. Most of what has been filmed at the moment is inspired by the Spanish Basque Country. Scenes of traditional and religious cerimonies have already been filmed for the videos and imagery, like the big Basque Sun, is being heavily used. The sun in the Basque tradition symbolizes the eye of God. Interior of caves have also been filmed for the videos.

But the work is not done yet, more videos will be filmed in the next few days including one featuring the tour dancers doing choreographies and Madonna close ups.

As usual the backdrop videos will be a central part of this Madonna show and people who had the luck to attend rehearsals are already stating, without any doubts, that this this tour is really one of the all time best as both the musical numbers and the choreographies will leave the audience breathless!

Italians do it better!
In its sixth week in the official Album chart compiled by FIMI, the new Madonna album is strongly in the Top Ten at #6.
This means that MDNA has never dropped more than one notch per week after debuting at number one in the chart, and is currently running 1-2-3-4-5-6-.

Someone still thinks she's over?

Madonna To Give Us A Taste Of MDNA In Tel Aviv!

Madonna MDNA Tour Film

Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, previously dished some deets on her MDNA tour and now, we have one piece of ultra Madgetastic news!!!

Reportedly, at Madge’s first show in Tel Aviv, a few performances will be filmed!!! No, really! This is HUGE news!

As of now, FOUR numbers from the May 31 show will be used for promo for the tour worldwide and we cannot wait to see which ones Madonna's management chooses!!

What better promotional material for the tour than the show itself…?!? And of course, a full tour DVD wouldn't hurt, either…just sayin'!

With the tour’s kick off only a few weeks away, the excitement and anticipation for what’s sure to be an epic event is on in FULL force!!!!

We are SO ready!

''This tour is EPIC!''
Once again the latest news from the Madonna 'MDNA World Tour' rehearsals come up when you bring up together small tidbits from Twitter. Almost a month ago it was the show costume designer herself to reveal that dress rehearsals were on their way. "A month until dress rehearsals YAY !" Arianne tweeted on April 18.

And it looks we're almost there, judging from short messages from several MDNA tour dancers who mentioned a costume fitting taking place today.

"So proud to be a part of this team! #MDNA is not just a show, it's an experience!!!", Phillip Boutte, who illustrated all of the costumes for Arianne Phillips for the entire tour also said. "Such an honor and a blessing. This tour is EPIC!"

Are you ready to see MDNA come alive?
