I Have to admit 6 fot 7 is a dam jam when they play that at frat parties or the club people go ape shit. Carter III was meh, Carter IV was meh meh meh.

But i listened to some of his mixtape stuff & i dig some of it. I think Wayne is a good rapper but with some disturbingly awful lyrics at times Dude is for sure overrated by a lot of people but he is also a bit of a clever(NOT GENIUS) Lyricist at times.

This is my attempt to see what people really dislike about modern artists, i mean i can go to listening to epic 13 minute prog songs & smooth jazz with weird time signatures & insane solos But i realize especially being back in college sometimes i do like fun music to just chill to.

Even artists that used to annoy me like GaGa her stuff isn't so bad once it's not crazy overplayed which she hasn't been as overplayed ocmpared to a year or 2 ago.

So yes... opinions on Wayne? do you think he has no talent, is he a hack? is he a clever artist?

I think he's stupid as fuck and I despise his music. His whole image is repugnant to me. And I think he champions the worst aspects of hip hop. Hell, I don't know if you could really consider him hip hop. He's like Puff Daddy in the late 90s/early 00s, except he looks like he doesn't bathe often.

For me he's hit and miss.

I love 'A milli' and 'Lollipop'

But many of his lyrics are incoherent and sounds like he just made them up on the spot.

To be honest he doesn't bother me.

Carter III has some great tracks - when he takes things seriously, he can be pretty amazing.

But when he's high as hell on whatever, he's just kind of...there.

Lil Wayne is one of the best rappers in today’s mainstream hip-hop scene. Which is why I don’t listen to any hip-hop released after 1999.

He's okay with me, but I have noticed that since he blew up his creativity has sucked but I guess that's how it goes.

When he first came out he had potential. I don't know if it was his drug abuse (he does that "Lean" stuff) or what, but sometime after the first or second Carter album or maybe during his mix tape where he was promoting the Sqad Up group, he decided "fuck logic" and rant like a banshee and he's been lost since. He seems smart though, he actually was a straight-A student before he dropped out and I think he got a college degree or is inching close to one.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head with this... Thats pretty much all his music is good for. Thats pretty much ALL mainstream music is good for... the club scene.

Now as far as Lil Waynes talent, he just sucks in my eyes, his not a real MC, his just a mediocre rapper. He has some undenibale catchy club tunes but is it genius? no.. Is it groundbreaking? no. His not even that good of a rapper and his voice is annoying. People make the arguement that his mixtapes are better than his music but I never cared for him even before he got big.

I also love fun music to at the club And most of the artists I dont like and would never buy their albums, I get down in the club to some of their music but see, thats just it. Its just fun music to just dance to because its on and depending on the setting is appropiate for the atmosphere. However, Its not music that should be recognized more than just easy accessible music and that my friend is where the problem arises in pop music. The shit gets ranked higher than what it exactly is in reality.

Maybe it's just me.... well grant it i don't listen to the radio But my neigboors & co-workers sure do a lot so i hear the big songs.

Wayne is not as overplayed as his Carter III era that era... LAWD

Lollipop, Got Money, A Mili i heard everyday at Circuit City when i worked there. I heard these songs every hour

2 or 3 times an hour for a good 6 months or so. 6 Foot 7 i never hear much anymore since it came & went same with how to love it was HUGE then just went away.

I get down at the club to some Wayne, Rihanna, Usher, Wale, hell even some Beyawnce but no I dont think it should be recognized in serious artistic regards because its not that great, its just fun music to shake your ass to
