I haven't been sleeping well these past few months and as a result, I rarely ever dream anymore.

BUT...last night I had the most vivid dream that I've had in years.

I was at a house/offices of Whitney's childhood church, and was led upstairs to the "attic" where she still lay dead on the floor. She was visibly pregnant. There was some intrigue as to her death since I was led to a closet where a bagful of papers had been overlooked by the police, as I was given a cryptic note with a message that she'd written right before her death (that I can't recall right now).

shake

ANYWAY...it was very vivid and I awoke this morning on edge.

Just thought I'd share.

I bet you were channeling...

Grammys Draw Second-Largest Audience Ever

Tributes to Whitney Houston helped Sunday's 54th Annual Grammy Awards draw more than 39 million viewers, the second-largest audience ever for the show, according to preliminary numbers. The show, which aired on CBS, was the most-watched since 1984, when Michael Jackson won a record-setting eight awards.

Sony hikes Whitney Houston album prices online

Sony Music

It's easy to get so emotional about a singer after they've passed prematurely, as Whitney Houston did Saturday at the age of 48. But fans seeking to buy her digital albums in remembrance weren't too happy at sudden price hikes so soon after her death.

The Brits picked up on it quickly, with London-based Next Web writer Matt Brian and The Guardian's Josh Halliday both finding the price increases, which raised Houston's "The Ultimate Collection" 2007 album from £5 (about $7.89) to £8 (about $12.63). In the United States, the cost is even steeper: $15 for the "Greatest Hits" collection at both Amazon (mp3 store) and iTunes.

Live Poll

Did you buy Whitney Houston's music after she died?

Halliday found out that Sony Music increased the price of "The Ultimate Collection" at about 4 a.m. Sunday, not even 12 hours after news broke of Houston's death. Fans were quick to point fingers at Apple for the anti-sale, but it turned out that when Sony bumped up the wholesale price of "The Ultimate Collection," iTunes and other retailers automatically upped their pricing.

We've reached out to Sony for comment and will update if/when we hear from them.

Digital Spy found consume...re quickly: 30 minutes for it to jump from $4.74 to $12.62, which prompted one buyer to fume, "The album itself is great so please don't be put off purchasing it, just [realize] that you will merely be lining some fatcat's pocket before Whitney's lifeless body is cold."

Houston's "iTunes Essentials" album is even more expensive at $18.45 for 15 songs (vs. 36 songs for $14.99 on the "Greatest Hits" album, which was originally released in 2000).

Over at Google Music, you can't find those albums, but there are a smattering of free singles, including "Greatest Love of All" and "So Emotional."

Meanwhile, at Walmart, things are just plain fishy. Though the retail giant has exited the music download business, it is still a massive CD retailer. While the pricing of Whitney's CDs hasn't changed, every single one is listed as 'out of stock online.' Could that really be because of a surge in buying? Or is there a price change afoot?

As of this morning, three of Houston's singles were in the top 10 singles chart at iTunes, including the No. 1 "I Will Always Love You," which was also sung in tribute by Jennifer Hudson at last night's Grammy awards. Houston's "Greatest Hits" album was No. 2 on the iTunes albums chart, runner-up to only Adele, who swept the Grammy awards with hits from her "21" album.

WHITNEY HOUSTON'S FINAL MEALRx and Alcohol

Whitney Houston consumed alcoholic beverages shortly before she died, and the mix of prescription drugs and booze could have produced the fatal result.

TMZ has obtained photos of the room where Whitney died, showing remnants of her final meal. We're told she ordered a hamburger, fries, a turkey sandwich and jalapenos. The picture also shows a Heineken can and an empty champagne glass. Sources say the glass had been filled with champagne.

The picture (below) was shot in the bathroom after Whitney's body was removed and shows a tray which contained the turkey sandwich and jalapenos. Family sources say Whitney ate the burger and fries and took the turkey sandwich and jalapenos into the bathroom where she planned on eating both items after her bath.

If you look closely you can see water on the bathroom floor.

As TMZ first reported, authorities told the family Whitney may have suffered a fatal reaction from mixing drugs and alcohol, possibly leading to a heart attack.

eek Ok, what I want to know is how did TMZ get these photos??? I mean, arent these photos a part of the investigation? Shouldnt they remain concealed and with the investigators? How is it that TMZ "obtained" them and put them up on their site? whofarted whofarted Someone give them to TMZ for money perhaps?

That's what I'm wondering about! TMZ seems to have "spies" that literally go everywhere!! How do they do it?

FAKE! FAKE! FAKE!

Wendy's a fan too!

I woke up the morning of Whitney's death and the first song I played of the day was You Light Up My Life from Just Whitney. I haven't played Whitney in months and I had the urge to play her. It was soo unnerving to find out 7 hours later that she had died. Spooky. sad

Whitney is part of the soundtrack of my life. I can't remember not listening to her music. I haven't cried yet though. I think it's because I lost interest in her back in 2003 when her voice died...but I still love her material before that. Classic stuff! She was a positive image for little black girls to look up to in the 80s/90s. sad

Adorecream

Its a sad loss, but I predicted it a few weeks ago, I said "She would not make 55 and may not even make 50). Whitney ruined her life with drugs and alcohol and that was sad, especially as in the 80s she had a squeaky clean girl next door with the great voice reputation. She was a role model who sold out. I miss the Whitney of the pre 1993 period, but not the drug queen afterwards.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

this is wendy keeping it real, she was being honest and heartfelt cause that interview with Whitney (which you can find on youtube) and her on WBLS, Whitney was coming off really nasty towards Wendy. Wendy always owned up to her substance abuse problem and that was whitneys downfall.

this is why i like a wendy interview she goes in, she is not trying to be all buddy with you like Angie Martinez does, ask the questions people want to know.

Houston’s family has raised the possibility of holding a wake Thursday and funeral Friday at Newark’s Prudential Center, which can seat about 18,000. The arena, which seats more than 18,500 people, represents the largest indoor venue in Newark and could accommodate far greater crowds than the New Hope Baptist Church, the red brick house of worship that served as Houston’s childhood church.

Black Exec Who Discovered Houston Remembers Her

Date: Monday, February 13, 2012, 6:35 am
By: Bobbi Booker, Special to BlackAmericaWeb.com

Arista A&R director Gerry Griffith first heard a young Whitney Houston (above) sing at the Seventh Avenue South jazz club.

Whitney Houston's start as a music icon began at an early age, when she would accompany her mother, gospel legend Cissy Houston, at their church as a member of the New Hope Baptist Junior Choir in Newark, New Jersey. While in her mid-teens, the younger Houston was singing backup for artists like Chaka Khan and Lou Rawls and frequently appearing with her mother in concert and local New York clubs.

It was at the famed Seventh Avenue South jazz club, owned by the Brecker Brothers, that Arista A&R director Gerry Griffith first witnessed Houston's vocal talent in 1983.

"After her performance, I was completely blown away," recalled Griffith. "I hadn't seen an artist like her since Aretha. Her command of her voice. She was comfortable, at 16 years old, at being on the stage. She had a presence at that age, something that she has developed since the first time I saw her. I was just knocked out by this young, beautiful — she was actually a model at that time — and the command of her voice and the song and the lyric. It was just amazing."

Impressed, Griffith asked his boss, legendary Arista Records founder Clive Davis, to listen to the young singer. Initially, Griffith said, Davis was not affected.

"I had worked at Columbia Record for 10 years prior to this and had worked with so many great female vocalists, like Minnie Riperton, and so I had that knack for hearing the right thing. So I immediately the next day went to my boss, who happened to be Clive Davis, and said, 'I want to showcase a new artist for you.' He said, 'Who is it?' and I explained. He had no idea who she was at the time. Later, after we had rehearsed for about five days at the time, Clive came down. She performed, and he didn't quite get it. I had to put my salesman hat on, and we convinced him to take a shot. So he said, 'Let's do three songs with her like a demo,' and the next thing you know, we signed her."

Houston signed with Arista, and two years later, in 1985, her first album, "Whitney Houston," was released, producing a string of hits, including, "The Greatest Love of All." The album went on to sell over 22 million copies worldwide, becoming the biggest-selling debut album by a solo artist in history. Eventually, Houston's discography would consist of seven studio albums, four compilations, and three soundtrack albums, as well as 53 singles.

"I just watched her grow," Griffith marveled. "I will never forget the time when I was watching the Super Bowl (in 1991), and she came on and sang ("The Star-Stangled Banner"). I have never in my life — and never in my life since — heard a performance that was so over the top and powerful and captivating. It still captivates me whenever I look at it."

"I had no doubt that she would be an artist for the world." he said. "I knew it. It was just one of those things. Because at the time, I was working with Aretha Franklin (and) Dionne Warwick and had worked with artists in the past like Minnie Riperton, so it was one of those things where I knew she was a star. Everything that she was successful with, I was very comfortable with it because that's who she was."

Over the span of nearly three decades, Houston became an international superstar, amassing global album sales .....

Police: Whitney Houston was found underwater and unconscious in bathtub

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Whitney Houston was underwater and apparently unconscious when she was found in a hotel bathtub, Beverly Hills police said Monday.

The singer was found Saturday by a member of her personal staff at approximately 3:30 p.m. She was pulled from the tub by members of her staff, and hotel security was promptly notified, Lt. Mark Rosen said.

Bing: Latest on Whitney Houston

Further details of Houston's death are not being released, to preserve the integrity of the investigation, he said.

"As of right now, it's not a criminal investigation," Rosen told a news conference. "We have concluded our portion of the investigation at the hotel."

Rosen said it was a coroner's case and police were awaiting the determination of the cause of death.

The coroner's office says toxicology testing is continuing.

Photos: In Memoriam: Whitney Houston

There were no indications of foul play and no obvious signs of trauma on Houston's body, but officials were not ruling out any causes of death until they have toxicology results, which will likely take weeks to obtain.

According to TMZ, coroner officials told Whitney Houston's family that the singer died from a "combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol."

Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said the body was released late Monday morning. He would not say where the body was taken but said that typically a family will work with a funeral home to make arrangements.

Two people who have spoken with Whitney Houston's family said the singer's body will be taken home to New Jersey late Monday for a funeral to be held at week's end.

More: Whitney Houston honored a...mmy Awards

The two spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak for the family and funeral arrangements weren't complete. They said Houston's family has raised the possibility of holding a wake Thursday and a funeral Friday at Newark's Prudential Center, which can seat about 18,000.

The 48-year-old singer was found unresponsive in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday, just hours before she was supposed to appear at a pre-Grammy gala.

The Grammy Awards ceremony was in part a memorial to Houston, a six-time winner. LL Cool J introduced a clip near the start of the show of a glowing Houston singing her signature ballad, a cover of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You."

A sensation from her very first album, Houston was one of the world's best-selling artists from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s. She awed millions with soaring but disciplined vocals rooted in gospel and polished for the masses, a bridge between the earthy passion of her godmother, Aretha Franklin, and the bouncy pop of her cousin, Dionne Warwick.

Bishop T.D. Jakes, a Texas minister and producer on Houston's final film project, a remake of the 1970s release "Sparkle," said he saw no signs she was having any substance abuse issues. He said Houston was a complete professional and moved the cast and crew to tears two months ago when she sang the gospel hymn "Her Eyes on the Sparrow" for a scene shot in Detroit.

"There was no evidence in working with her on 'Sparkle' that there was any struggle in her life," Jakes said Sunday. "She just left a deep impression on everybody."
