I love all the jackets but I probably would have to go with the Dangerous Jacket and Beat It one.

Unbelievable. BTW, I didn't know Karen was trying to sell a book, too. With this, all those people are losing my respect. This is so low. I wonder how those books are going to turn out. Especially Jermaine's one. I guess it won't be pretty cause I've heard publishers are not interested in positive Jackson books. "What's your favorite jacket?"
All of 'em especially the glittery black jackets he wore during "Billie Jean" and the Pepsi "Bad" commercial, and the leather red-zipper jackets from "Beat It" and "Thriller"...MAINLY.

Playing devil's advocate here. As long as the books are positive, what's wrong with these folks than did at least know MJ writing books? It seems better to have their books out there than books from these assholes that hate MJ.

I can speak for myself only, but as a fan of many great men, I have mixed feelings about books being released. Elvis has had books by just about everyone in his inner circle, some hagiographic, others beastly, but some of the men, you just never thought they would sell out Elvis, as With Muhammad Ali, or any public figure. It's just dissapointing sometimes. I had a mentor who was Bruce Lee's best friend Taky Kimura (I know it's hard to believe but look him up) he swore to Bruce never to sell him out, never to prostitute his art, well, knowing him as well as I got to know him, and also knowing that he was the only one that close to bruce not to "sell out" it was still dissapointing to come to a personal realization that he was just as greedy, selfish and ego driven as anyone. In fact, he has a book out for 50 bucks based on personal letters from bruce, odd thing is, I distinctly remember him telling me that he burned all correspondence from Bruce as a philosophical point. Anyway, I don't have much faith to lose in people anymore and I don't mind it so much and I learn something from all the Elvis/bruce/michael books I read. All give different aspects. I only hate when the gossip in these books hurts the men's legacies and tries to show they were of poor character, and every great man has those stories.

My feelings exactly and it's likely ALL the books would be positive but I still think it's kinda like "why?" Why even go through all of that especially concerning Michael? Karen may say some outlandish shit, Jermaine may try to explain why he fell for Randy's chick, the Cascio boy, who knows what the hell he says? And does anyone care about David Gest?

Well malcolm x recently had a horrible bio released which alleges pretty much things so far out of character and potentially damaging that I'm glad it just sort of fell off everyone's radar. the author, a "top black scholar" didn't want to demonize him but to "humanize" him, yeah right, how many times have I heard that shit. That asshole wanted to make money and with black scholars and leaders there is almost always a competitive thing going on with any other black leader or scholar. Supposedly Malcolm snitched out his best friend for a lighter sentence, tricked for gay men, one of whom he suppossedly tried to get his sentence reduced with his help, had an affair with an 18 year old right before he was killed (which is preposterous, if the FBI couldn't nail Malcolm on something, what makes an author who wasn't even there think he can?) Anyway, the problem with bios, after awhile, they have to become more outlandish, more tabloidy because it becomes a thing of "you think you know so and so? wait till you read this by his close personal aide". New books have to up the ante. Was a time when Ali had few books on his life, most of them pretty well balanced or leaning towards hagiography, but after that market got exhausted, the rotten books started coming out about 12 years ago which are so slanted they really have limited relevance. Thing is, the stories are so at odds that there is no way that they could all be true, ali for example, will simultaneously be a genius/borderline retard, absentee father/great father, exploiter of 16 year old girls/good husband. the stories become mutually exclusive, as readers we have to have the critical acuity to seperate the wheat from the chaff. Michael has not even begun to go through this phase that we're talking about but he will.

The bios only sell if we the fans buy them. Most people in the general public aren't that interested. So where as during his life the scandalous books were the ones publishers thought were needed, now since his passing there is a greater acceptance of positive ones mainly becuase they know there is a buck to be made. So this person Nathan Jay made this song "Take Me Away" by putting together clips of Michael's vocals. A short clip of his work in progress was posted in one of the older threads, now the whole song is finished:

3 days to go for the register for tickets at the MJ "Tribute" show and still no list of who is performing.
I'm putting money on it all be "rescheduled" and dying quietly. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

smh... I heard about that Malcolm X bullish as well... Michael is going through that now with all these drug mess and the inaccurrate depiction of him. Ive always found it laughable how people claim to have known someone AFTER they have passed away and feel they know them well enough to write a damn book on their ENTIRE life..

Does anyone know the year "Slave to the Rythm" was recorded? It reminds me of a sort of sequel/prequel to "Do You Know Where Your Children Are". Anyone know if it's from the Dangerous session?
