Does anyone know the year "Slave to the Rythm" was recorded? It reminds me of a sort of sequel/prequel to "Do You Know Where Your Children Are". Anyone know if it's from the Dangerous session?

C Tricky Stewart did the mix we have, but it originally produced by Babyface and LA Reid so it could be from the Dangerous sessions

If it's from 1991, then the original mix could be a mix of Michael's sound and a the sound Babyface and Reid were doing at the time (thinking of Whitney's "My Name Is Not Susan)

The original mix needs to leak lol

lol This is my first time really listening to it .. It's a solid track, but I'm sure the original mix wasn't as "beefed up" as Tricky's mix

Michael Jackson Perfume Coming from His Estate; Father’s Schemes Shut Down

There will be a Michael Jackson line of perfumes, but it won’t be coming from Michael’s father, Joseph. I can tell you exclusively that the Michael Jackson estate is in negotiations right now to market its own brands through a conventional big time cosmetics company. The perfume has been created, the bottles are being deisgned, and a name is being decided upon. It will not be called “Thriller,” says a source who’s working on the project.

But it’s not a bad idea. Neither are “Bad,” “Dangerous,” “Invincible” or “Off the Wall” (the latter could be body spray!). What’s NOT happening: a line of perfumes from Michael’s father, Joe Jackson.

Indeed, the estate is spending extra time shutting Jackson senior down as he makes pronouncements about new businesses he’s dreaming up to exploit his late son’s likeness.

Recently, Jackson proclaimed on his website that he and a German firm–UD Group International–a firm with ties to Michael’s one time manager Dieter Wiesner–had somehow gotten the rights in that country to Michael’s name. However, the Jackson estate insists this isn’t true, and that they are contacting their German lawyers to set matters straight.

On the website, Joe Jackson can be seen hocking his own line of “champagne,” and carrying on about his new ventures. He tried to launch his own perfume line during the Cannes Film Festival, but that’s been scotched. He also told this reporter about his plans for Neverland style hotels. “That will not be happening,” said an estate source. “We think Joe knows all these things are pipe dreams. He just likes to do the traveling and get the attention,” said my source.

Meanwhile, the Estate is looking forward to opening night in Montreal on October 2nd, when Cirque du Soleil unveils its Michael Jackson show. Tickets are on sale in several cities. After Montreal, the show heads to Las Vegas. What’s happening here is really interesting: in death, Michael Jackson is now becoming a big, big business, bigger than he could have envisioned.

I doubt that I would buy it myself, but if they are going to make it anyway,I hope that the bottles are nicely designed, and it doesn't smell like shit.

It could've been recorded after Dangerous was released (November 26th, 1991) I'm sure the song was written during the session but most likely didn't get full treatment until he worked with Baby Face and LA .. HIStory session started as early as Dangerous session because a lot of the records you hear on HIStory were intended for Dangerous (Earth Song, They Don't Care About Us, etc)

I think it's a bad move, too. I think all the stuff that isn't strictly music-related, is a bad move. Including Cirque du Soleil (ewww).

I think the only people who are gonna buy the perfume too are the really obssessed, creepy fans.

all depends, paul newman put out a brand which had nothing to do with his business other than using his name and it was done with such class and taste that it's all good. Then you have guys like Muhammad Ali who was such an easy mark that he had motherfuckers selling ali cookies, shoe polish, cars and a lot of other shit i can't think of right now and it ruined his name for a long time. Elvis similarly had lots of inane bizarre shit sold with his name on it by that motherfucker parker. all depens.

ya and i'f you'll notice, it's the motherfuckers people have around them who come up with this shit. Elvis and Ali had a bunch of uneducated, backward fucks around them most of the time. Ali could have been a Jordan before Jordan if he hadn't had all those clowns around him, he was ready to put out quality lines of clothes even at a time when (with all of his mass acceptance) major stores still would tell his reps point blank that they don't market products by and for black people. But he still could have done it had he not had all the fuckups around him who immediately wanted their piece, his right hand man wanted to sue for the rights of an insignia of butterfly and bee, shit like that. Great men usually have con men around them, check it out and you'll see i'm right.

And this song is a fake, sounds like whoever was on those 3 tracks on Michael if it didn't turn out to be him. I wanted it to be him, but I don't think it is the whole time. This track sounds like a Karl Wolf reject.

Without the sex scandals, how do you think MJ's career would've gone?

Think about how different "HIStory" would've been minus all of that controversy he dealt with. Would he have released more music than he did? Heck, do you think he would still be alive right now if those cases wouldn't have happen?

Please, let's discuss this.....

i think HIStory is one of his greatest.. not only does he experiment with different parts of his voice, but michael really opened up on the album.. and showed what was going on in michaels heart, i would compare it to Off The Wall even.. and yes.. i believe that all michael may still be here if it weren't for those accusations, michael was such a beautiful being..and didn't deserve any of that.
