And rightfully so. Ike Turner will always be remembered for the abuse.

If Chris Brown didn't want to be known as a beater, then perhaps he shouldn't have beaten up his girlfriend.

There are consequences to actions. He could have turned it around, but throwing a gigantic hissy fit - and again showing his capacity for violence - is exactly the wrong way to do it.

Yep and it's going to do the reverse effect. But I hardly think his career was ever on the point of recovery though.

The mere fact that Robin said that he agreed to answer those questions says it all for me. He knew it was coming, in fact agreed to it. So, why the outburst bruh?

I'm not buying it. Nope! He knew that crap would garner even more attention around his album release. More headlines, more trending topics, etc...

What bothers me is the fact that he probably had the greatest momentum going into this week's album releases when you consider the success of his singles. He didn't need to do it..... just dumb. confused

Brown should've walked into that interview situation expecting to be asked about Rihanna and getting raked over the coals like that. That's what the media does.

He should've walked in like, "Oh, there's gonna be shit, they're gonna piss me off and try to bait me...", and made sure that he didn't do anything to give them the reaction they wanted.

Instead, he did exactly what they wanted him to do.

I feel bad for him. It's like, he fucked up once and he keeps getting punished for it.

Yeah, I forgot about her. But I think they'll both be battling it out for #1 this week. Those young girls "Team Breezy" are eating everythang this dude throws at them. Speaking of Jennifer have you heard her new joint yet? I hope she found the right songs that really compliment her voice. The R. Kelly song, "Where You At?" was such a waste for me. I hope she has some real heat waiting for us. smile

I sort of agree with you in one token, but on the flip side, Chris is now starting to add to his "villification" these days. If he wants people to let his past go, then he needs to let go of the fact that people are going to STAY all up in his past because for as long as he lives, there's always going to be somebody who is going to bring up the Rhianna incident...whether or not he rises to the top again or becomes a has been. I'm pretty sure he knew beforehand what was going to be asked so there was no reason to go apeshit afterwards. If he would had played his cards right, he could've answered the questions respectfully and humbly as well as intertwining that he has apologized and moved on.

As far as the Charlie Sheen incident goes, I haven't really seen how he has been "celebrated" in his meltdown. To me, he sort of celebrates being an asshole...on the otherhand, with Chris still whining about people not letting the past go and then reacting immaturely makes him an asshole. Just my opinion.

[Edited 3/22/11 9:48am]

The fact that he's got a sold out tour (doing what I don't know) that's gonna earn him $7 million AND the possibility of getting his job back AFTER he's openly indulged in all kinds of illegal activities is how he's being celebrated.

The whole thing is laughable but could have been avoided quite easily by doing the following:

1) have your publicist/agent/lawyer/momma or whomever is handling yo bizz tell the folk at GMA that questions about Rihanna and his probation are off limits.

2) have your lawyer present during the interview (but off camera) so as intimidate, ever so slightly, the interviewer in case they get to poppin their collar and want to ask inappropriate questions.

3) beat them to the punch...you bring up Rihanna first and you discuss the situation on your terms. control the interview.

4) skip an interview and just do a live performance. seriously, what else is there to talk about besides the music?

5) my personal favorite... steer clear of network morning shows cuz these are run by a bunch of old foots who probably can't name one Chris Brown song and have only heard of him through the altercation with Rihanna.

confused today's young celebs have no game.

nod And I don't really feel bad for him. It just goes to show you that you can't have your cake and eat it too. You have to go in this business knowing that the bullcrap is coming to you and know how to handle it in the best way possible. Currently, he still doesn't know how to. The immaturity and inconsiderate behavior is bringing him further down. That's what people and his fans don't see.

You put it perfectly, he is doing what they wanted him to do.

One other way of avoiding it: Don't beat up a woman.

As well as the woman keeping her hands to herself as well when she probably already KNEW he had an anger problem (As she probably does too hmmm). Just sayin'.

I think the timing of the domestic dispute played a factor as well. They had to skip an awards appearance because of what happened. As for Charlie though, I would think his violent temper aimed at the mother of his children (both Denise and this most recent woman) would carry more weight as opposed to his many random hoes and whatever transpired with them. You don't beat up a pop princess or your baby momma.

But that's just it, no one gives a damn about the last chick he was with that he put hands on. She's a nobody while Rihanna is a superstar, and she is beloved.

Yeah he's basically a pawn in everyone's game to get ratings/money. That's why trainwreck celebrities are often more discussed because it gives random joes a chance to laugh at someone when they're down especially if they keep making fools out of themselves.

The major difference between Sheen and Chris is, Sheen didn't beatdown a pop princess. Sheen fucks with trashy, porn hoes, so no one gives a fuck about thoes hoes. Chris beatdown Rihanna - she's famous and beloved. Had Sheen beatdown Denise Richards and then the photos got leaked, Sheen would've been shitted on as much as Brown is getting shitted on. Is there a race element to it? Probably so. But Chris' anger issues are what's fucking him up, while Sheen's "Lord of the Rings"-ish outbursts are just comedy and not hurting anyone.

Plus Chris & Rihanna are black so that brings in a racial element.

Nah. It's because Rihanna is famous. If she were just any regular girl nobody would care.

Not really but I'm more like "if you KNOW you have anger problems and you're in show business, do not get involved." I kinda knew when Chris started dating Rihanna that trouble was on the horizon, just didn't imagine it was this type of trouble.

Race plays a minor role, in the fact that the media loves to demonize Black men whenever the chance to do so comes up. But you're right, had that underaged girl R. Kelly has his face all up in her was Aaliyah, you can best believe that should would've been HUGE well beyond what it was.

Yeah and the funniest thing is he was all pissy on Twitter about "THEY WOULDN'T STOP ASKING ME!" That just further proves that he has no intentions of calming down. He won't get a pat on the back like Mike Tyson did. All Mike did was get his boxing license revoked - twice - but they still let him fight though. lol Obviously the differences in that is Mike's a boxer and Chris is an entertainer. lol

Eh the VISUAL is the marriage certificate that was in Vibe magazine back in the early 90's. It would make much more sense if you said if the girl in the video was white he would probably suffer a big backlash.

Last album tanked so now he's on his hands and knees begging for forgiveness and at the same time, trying to forget the situation and allude to it as well. Hence the new album is called F.A.M.E.
