I found this tracklisting somewhere on the internet. Looks like maybe an earlier configuration of the album?

1.Eye Came 2 Get funky
2.Hot Summer
3.SometimesNever
4.Play The Game
5.Fight 4 Ur Love
6.Alicia
7.Footprints
8.If Eye Could…
9.Cold
10.20Ten

that seems fake the 3 songs that we heard samples of other than hot summer are

"Compassion"
"Beginning Endlessly"
"Lavaux"

But Alicia has promise! lol

Alicia, let's go 2 the movie
Alicia, let's go
Alicia, let's go 2 the village
Alicia, let's go
Tell your man, he'll understand
Alicia, let's go

anyone amused by the irony that he says the internet is dead but there is no release date for the US, meaning fans in the US will have to...well ya'll know.

From the samples I might buy it, but I am not going to wait for it.

You can replace the word "irony" with "stupidity". Everyone with the required amount of chromosomes knows that the internet is far from dead and is actually in it's infancy. The corporate music business is broken and the internet is an ally it has yet to fully comprehend and embrace.

When most of us steal in-print music from the web (let's be honest, that's exactly what it is), the sites we download from have advertising that pays per click. When the big conglomerates finally adopt ad revenue as a way to distribute music with no up-front fees from the consumer, combined with physical sales of CDs, they will be happily in the black. We want the music, and I'm sure that clicking a few ads on the way to a free download isn't going to kill us. Plus we would be supporting the artist, as we well should. I for one, try to only download music I already own or that is out of print/unavailable. Artists need to be paid. Corporations need to be paid. As a consumer, I'm cool with that. Prince and his peers need to accept that the WWW is here to stay, so assimilation is in their best interest.

Note to Prince: Magazines and newspapers are not exactly doing well. Why? I'll be damned if it's not because of the internet.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Just an opinion from an ol' school fool...

This quote, "... Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can’t be good for you,” he added.

I think he's referring to analog vs. digital. Our ears are analog, which actually equates to CDs being more limited than LPs in delivering natural sound. With all the talk today about artificial this and artificial that, I think he making a case for a more natural existence, over the plethora of artificial existing factors in our lives today...

Thoughts?

I *really* like these clips. The only thing I'd criticize is the vocals. Not even the lyrics. But the sound of these tracks makes me think the vocal delivery ought to have a little more power, urgency, OOMF! behind them.

Guys, you missed my point, or maybe I wasn't clear. I was referring to the quote about computers, not the new album (yes, I'm in my 40s and still refer to them as albums)...

Still, I was hoping that someone would have suggested the notion of Prince releasing an album ONLY on vinyl or tape. You know, just to go against the grain, so to speak... Hmmm

I think its hilarious that Beginning Endlessly, one of the best tracks on the album, samples Purple and Gold, one of the worst Prince songs ever made. Shows that he's still got a sense of humor and playfulness with his music and his fans.

The internet makes the international release date the same day as when it is released anywhere in the world...if you don't believe me, check tomorrow and bet you can get the album.
