I'm still wondering - is there a US release date set yet? I just feel like it'll be the third week of the month, at the latest. It can't be very far past the release dates in Europe, a la Planet Earth status quo.

Kiddin'. I actually have an Australian calling into my radio show tonight live. It'll be about 11 a.m. for you guys, but 9 p.m. Eastern for me. It's Hatman from the org. He's an excellent musician, and we'll be talkin' to him about his music, and 20Ten.

Besides, you people's accent melts me at the knees every time. Thank God I'm sitting down for the show tonight.

So I have a question.. I wonder why he wouldn't release the album through RS in the states if he's doing it in Germany, are the two that different or could it be that the US RS wasn't interested in the music? confused

That was a mistake - July 22nd is the day it'll be in the the german rolling stone. The site that said that it'll be out in the US that day incorrectly got that from another site was referring to the rolling stone release.

Prince has kindly gone out of his way (again) to organise the ebay and inflated import distribution scheme for us.

I'm pretty sure Prince has never actually heard of Australia. (....The couple of times he's been here were a result of a typo on the itinerary manifest. He fell asleep on the flights and thought he was in Austria.....I remember hearing a LOT of cow bells in 2003.)

I'm going to buy 20 copies and use them around the house. They are quite useful as coasters and when attached to some string they keep the birds out of the garden..

Why would he come here again? Have U heard the shite that is considered worthy over here?

He is not Masculine enough for the people in control, they see him as a bit of a weirdo who last had an album in 91 or something.

Why would he come here? He only sells out shows in an instant to ravenous fans that are desperate to see him.

Not masculine enough? Are you living in Australia circa 1976? ...or are you in Adelaide? wink The 2010 version of Prince is about as threatening as Justin Bieber.

IMO, the main problem with Australian radio is the stagnant commercial American rubbish that it's filled with.

How come no one is talking about Prince's performance with Sheelagh E and Stevie Wonder in Paris yesterday at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy?

Yep, Europe is big. Half a billion Europeans won't get 20ten with a news paper.

And I wonder why he releases 20ten in Belgium? I mean, it's a country between England and Germany (and therefore you could argue, that any release in UK or DE would cover the market in places like Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg and any of the neighbouring countries, thus reaching an audience who'd travel the relatively short distance to venues across the border.

Wouldn't it make sense to spread out the promo release of 20ten across the board? If you released it in say Poland (central Europe) or Sweden (Scandinavia) or Spain (southern Europe), you'd cover much, much more of the continent and simply flood it with the words "Prince" and "20ten". Now .. not so much, as it's only the Western Europe that'd be exposed..

Yeah, I know ... the counter argument could be: "He's releasing it with news papers in countries he's playing" .. but then ... Why no release in Denmark, where he's playing this sunday?
