Eye just can't stand her anymore. Why does she always steal the show from Prince? It's really annoying. Gigs, TV appearances, CDs... Shelby is always spoiling Prince's magic... i'm starting to miss Tony M, at leat he was not as omnipresent as Shelby is.

come on, P makes the call on who does what. It's not like she just stomps to the front of the stage and takes over. In a big assed arena she and the band need to add a little variety so she works well.

I don't think you hate her, you're just not a fan of someone else taking center stage at a performance, it could be anyone.

She's not stealing anything, what Prince says goes - she's doing lead vocals because he wants her too (and little old men need a break every now and again).

Honestly, she wasn't my cup of tea to begin with, but I guess Prince saw what I couldn't see: A potential she's beginning to manifest. I think she is getting better and better for everytime she goes on stage. And I think it's great to see Prince pass on the tradition in real music, inviting, inspiring and teaching 'students' on stage. He's not only a real musician but also a real mentor! Without people like him, where would music be?

After seeing her with P at MSG, I have to say I LOVE HER! She has great energy and she has great chemistry with him on stage. Now he should lose one of the other background singers...whose name is NOT Elisa Fiorillo

Hate IS a very stong word. I do see what you are saying though. I could do without her constant "Come on!"-ing all the time, it's very annoying. Stop saying come on!

I love how fams think Shelby tries to steal the show. Like she just pushed Prince aside and started singing on the George Lopez show.

I really dislikes (hates?) Shelby J too.

Sorry to hear that, but let me fix that for you....I love Shelby J's singing and Prince is not getting rid of her just for you. But hey, I'm sure with all the love she projects towards the audience, your hate couldn't touch her with a toothpick.

It is apparent since Prince is the leader of his own band, and that he is the one who chooses to have her there, and share some of the spotlight, as well as, showcase her natural born talent. He obviously admires her as a personal friend and artist, and loves her fantastic, blow-the-roof-off-the-building-powerful-voice that she has, which is far from the manufactured, talentless bs, that the music industry is pimping these days. (Matter of fact, I'm still waiting to hear Shelby J sing "Bridge over troubled Waters" like Ree-ree did back in the day, because I know with that voice she can bring it!) By the way thanks Prince for showcasing real talent!

Thing is, Shelby J or any of his other band members, could never take away what you refer to as Prince's magic, because he already has that sealed in a bottle, but I'm sure she's inspired by him, and respects the opportunity he has given her as an artist, to allow her to share the stage with him and express her talent as a singer, that the current music industry, might not have done. I'm sure you'll be fine and suck it up. I heard lip-synching, talentless, Britney Spears is suppose to go on tour...maybe you should run and catch that.

The line up for the NPG right now seems firm and locked in place. If the backup singers and musicians are not to your liking you have the option of not viewing them on television or attending the concerts. They're not going anywhere but you can.

Also, there will probably be covers at the W2A Los Angeles shows. There will be opening acts and there will be the current lineup of the NPG including the back up singers.

No surprises!

I just find Shelby J's singing at a PRINCE concert VERY annoying, that was my point. If the word "Whining" is a problem - I will take it back...

ps I really like Adele's new single, if you really need to know another female singer

Adele sings an r&b style of music, and Shelby's style of music is pretty much an r&b, soul, gospel, etc., sound, but she has a much stronger voice than Adele, but I'm sorry Adele is not a better singer or can project like Shelby, although Adele has a very, nice voice and it would not surprise me, if some of Adele's influences are singers like Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Cyndi Lauper, and other well-known singers/artist who can carry that r&b/soul sound.
