My brother was a fan..

Wendy & Lisa were 'Cross-over" appeal..

I guess P and Management figured that it wasn't Pop-life for a gang of brothers to be seen hollering in the face of a bunch of screaming white girls... lol

Prince + Dez + Andre = 3 Hendrix-type characters..called The Rebels?

I remember my brother being disappointed that Dez and Andre were gone...
He did not like Wendy's guitar play.

Still Marketing or not, Prince like up light of skin and weight.
Multicultured lineage (Latinas too).

Still, it doesn't matter because he is not my neighbor or a relative. He is just a man on stage, and screen. He damn sure doesn't care about what I do.

So let it be.. If he's missing-out on the chocolate, it won't better or worsen my day. That's on him. Plus, He is with most women who look like him.
If he does have children, I sure that he wants them to look like him.

Now, sistas don't have disgust for most of these chocolate celebs who must marry brighter...It happens far too often to be a random choice.

Why do sistas want to be a "turn on his wheel (of fortune)"? $$$$?
Stop coveting. Some people do what they do, and act the way they act because you want to be like them, and with them so badly. They continue to show you that you don't belong with them. If you did not seek them for whatever reason, they will seek you. It's Man's nature.

The dancing model in on of the last videos I've seen he has a dark model/dancer (and she is beautiful). Still, that should not be the focus of all blacks. Wanting to be accepted on the terms of other folk has gotten us into more trouble that we could have imagined.

People are attracted to what they're attracted to and that's that. And what I really find amusing is the same black women that complain P is color struck are a lot of the same ones that wouldn't give a white man the time of day. The real issue is your own self confidence and sense of worth, something you can't gain from an entertainer. Look deep and appreciate your own beauty and everyone else will too.

Please....Prince and other common "non-Black-feature-struck" Black men like him are some of the reasons why I've begun to become attentive to the looks of certain European/white men. Just like Halle Berry, Naomi Campbell, and Diana Ross. I WOULD love a white man if the desire was mutual:

"2 Wrongs Never, Ever, made a right.."

Some brother likes or liked you... Maybe, not the one you wanted..

That's what usually happens...

In this day in age, with this internet and technology, one should be able to find a mate of their own race and culture that likes them (if they really want to).

(I actutally think that technology is driving us apart, but that is another topic..)

Some people use "I can't find one within my own" as an excuse to venture out..

I've seen it. The brothers that some of the sistas actually wanted-were just like the men that they wanted outside of their race.. lol

These women have other problems too... like being obese.

(the dark skin hunnies wanted nearly white guys or mixed men who were attracted to white women.. Or they wanted the rich black male, and were after the rich white male.. Some even loved thir blackness so much that they wanted to birth light babies! How does that make sense?)

How are dark chocolate/people born? 2 dark parents loved each other and themselves enough to produce a child. So, there are brothers and sisters who love their own.

They usually do not wait for someone to fall to their knees to worship them. If you need someone to worship you (as a so-called Black female or anyone else) to boost your negative self-esteem over your own insecurities, then there is a problem that marrying a male of another race won't solve in your heart.

If some sistas like other men, they should just say it, or say nothing at all, and do it.

One thing about Prince, he never "diss-es" dark females as an excuse to love light, bright, or white. He just does it.

He has got to learn to say no to the photogenic ones and go with the Shelby J's and the truely talented. Has anybody considered that Prince may have been rejected by a dark skinned black women? It takes two to tangle. I say this because most black women prefer dark skinned men. Its a possibility that Prince may have liked a dark skinned lady and was rejected. I know its hard for most orgers to believe because people on here believe that every woman wants Prince. Men tend to hold grudges when they're rejected. Also, Prince is short and thats not a plus for women, either.

And kissing his ass....Prince is a colorstruck jerk,I'm sick of ya'll not calling him on it.
Because Bria has "good hair" and light skin, she gets all this attention,he "flaunts" her,and is part of the 3-cd set, talent or not.
Chelsea Rodgers-who looks like that-gets a website, models in perfume ads,get a song with her first & last name in the title,AND if that's not enough,he goes on & on at his site about how he can't help but stare cause she's supercute.
He takes the Twinz to the fashion shows....more flaunting.

Now,hmmm, let's see what did Tamar & Shelby J. get?
Oh,they get to sing with him.but that's basically it.
They have to know how to REALLY SANG,cause he isn't going to have any other use for them, but Bria doesn't have to have a strong voice, her album comes out anyway, but Tamars' didn't.
Tamar and Shelby don't get called supercute as far as I know, and he hasn't done anything else to glorify their kind of beauty.

Don't forget he had a black girlfriend in high school(Kim Upsher, anyone?)but soon as he became famous, those kind of women aren't good enough to have on his arm anymore.

He's sending us a message, stop actin like ya'll don't see it..Latin,Arab,Indian,bi or multiracial is fine, but if your racial makeup dosen't give you flowy hair down to your waist, stay back,I'm too fine for you.

I don't have a problem with "mixed" people marrying dating "mixed" people

It doesn't mean they/we are stuck up

Nobody says anything when 2 dark skinned-non visually mixed people date/marry

Nothing wrong with and Italian wanting to date only Italian or women who look that way

Most of my life I've only dated women of mixed heritage/background including biracial and multiracial (with black ancestry)

I've had more than enough darker skinned(non mixed) African American women come after me, soley on my skin tone and hair texture.

True. All modern music comes from the dark-skinned decndants of slaves in their churches..

Fast beats of House, Electonica, (Black Church Rivival Music), Screaming Rockers (James Brown and Hendrix), Thump Bass (Larry G and Bootsy Collins). Country Music = The Blues..

The best singers are dark.. Singers with power..

Videos and MTV have brought in the need for "photogenic women"..

Dark skin women absorb light, and don't reflect it (Photo-flash). They tend to have less or no "Euro-centric features".

The majority likes to see a bit of themselve in everything. It makes the pop world more accepting.

That's why some light-skinned entertainers have been seen as trail-blazers because they were allowed to do more earlier than most blacks in the U.S.

Still, in the Kingdom to come, "The Last Shall Be First".

Apparently you missed the part where I mentioned his highschool girlfriend, who ISN'T light skinned. rolleyes
And I thought he was attracted to Patrice Rushen, who looks nothing like him.
And dark-skinned men usually go after light skinned women,so how do you explain that?

No I didn't miss it. You stated that Prince was a "colorstruck jerk" (your words not mine). The whole point of your initiating this thread is to suggest Prince is a jerk because he largely ignores black women, or shows preference to light-skin. My point is, so what? Prince is a light-skinned man. If he shows preference to light-skinned females then he's showing preference to women who look like him. How does this make him a jerk?

And I never said anything about the preferences of dark-skinned men.

I wish people would stop falling back on this "women who look like him" argument, most of them don't REALLY look like him,all light skin people don't look alike.
They don't have eyes like his ,or his luscious lips smile

Like I've mentioned before, Most of these women actually look like Prince or the women in his family..

There are some dark-skinned folk and entertainers who don't like women of their same nationality ans ethnicity.

The man is true to himself, and won't pick a "chocolate token" he doesn't really care for (unlike a politician).

Then, people have to be honest. Yeah.. Prince is so-called black, but I want confessions from most sistas about whether they've been with a white man in the dark, but are acting "pro-black" in the light.

If Prince has loved a dark woman, but put her away because she was dark, it would be his loss..

Iman isn't sub saharan African, which is what we're really talking about here. She has fine European features and a slim European friendly figure.

In mainstream celebrity terms yes you're semi-fucked should you be blacker than Halle Berry or Beyonce. While every one can find attentions somewhere the stats suggest black women are least able to find spouses while black men choose to date interracially in ever increasing numbers.

The African market proliferation of skin bleaching creams and hair straightening chemicals would fly in the face of that. You see a thing called colonialism happened where European values were enforced over Africa...

There are exceptions to everything, but like I said, OVERWHELMINGLY, native Africans in Africa and abroad tend to marry "dark skinned, african featured, nappy haired women" as you put it. It's rare for them to even marry African Americans because of their strong connection to their racial, tribal, and cultural roots. So I'm not buying your wacky sweeping generalization.

Um No...ur souding a tad mis-informed. Iman does not have European features as she has no European blood in her. Being that she's African and by all scientific and religious accounts, humanity started there,,,then European folk actually have African features.

The term sub saharan is a misleading as it actually refers more to an aesthetic type rather than geographical location much like Russia is never acknowledged as being asian even tho it sits on the asian continent. Sudan used to be part of the so called sub sahara but then the politicos changed that as it sits a little too close to Egypt and the politico want to keep those lighter skinned Africans separate from the darker skinned ones. Its all political and not actual as in being part of reality.

Mainstream celebrity terms eh? Well that changes with the wind doesn't it? I think the beauty standards are more inclusive now than they've ever been, else why do chicks like Salma Hayek, Lucy Lui and Gabrielle Union get any exposure at all? NOne of them fall into that Michelle Pfieffer type (cant recall her last film) which is becoming less and less prevalent with each passing decade. Although I have a soft spot for Chris Evans, he and Owen Wilson are about the only fair boys out there...most hollywood guys are dark haired and even dark eyed.

Your last line was completely unsupported. What are these stats ur talking about? According to the 2006 US Census white men are more likely than any other group to marry outside so does that mean white women are at a loss? Overall, most people stay within their ethnic groups which is why we still HAVE ethnic groups. Interracial marriage is not as prevalent as you may think and that has largely to do with economics/education/culture/religion than it does race. Im not tryna ride your ass you but you just came out with all this whack shit that sounds like you've been reading too many blogs and not enuf books. confused

YHWH is Elohim and Yahoshua is King

[i never buy music because someone is cute. I am white but if I counted out my C.D.'s I am sure that I have more music by blacks then whites. I have Barry White, Did I want to sleep with Barry White? No. Unless your watching video's it really ultimately does not matter. You'd think Prince would see that visually, Milli Vanilli was as cute as he, where are these talentless men now? One is in the grave. Mariah is light skin but she CAN sing. Light skin does'f prevent you from singing but it does not help either. Sometimes I do think that Ethnic looks do play a huge role in exposure in America. Joan Armatrading never got the exposure she should have in the states. She is huge in England. Dark men don't reflect light any better than dark women, yet Kanye West gets plenty of attention. Maybe black women are held to different standards then black men. About your comment on the talent of African American musicians, Rolling Stone did give the two top positions on there list of 100 best voices to Ray Charles and Anita Baker. I read somewhere that African Americans only make up 15% of the population yet they sure make up more than 15% of the successful and memorable musicians. I could say more but maybe I should shut up now!
