You and everyone else can't possibly think its some kind of coincidence the things I have noticed.
I don't think any of yall read everything I wrote, there are differences between the way Chelsea,Twinz & Bria are put in the spotlight as opposed to Tamar & Shelby.[/quote]

Wow clever.

Shelby and Tamar have a free will. They can leave, do whatever they want, whenever they want. Prince is not their sole means of support or promotion. Vanity left and did fine after. Sheila left camp for a while and did fine. Wendy and Lisa left camp and certainly did well for themselves. How can Prince flaunt someone else? He's not dragging Bria everywhere on his arm. Who did he drag everywhere? WEndy and Lisa. Kim Basinger. Susannah. White women. The Twinz were dancers. Chelsea was around for a heartbeat. Bria's spotlight? Where? We haven't seen hide nor hair of her, and to my knowledge, she doesn't even have a video to one of her songs. Prince took Tamar on the road, and/or played gigs with her (there are boots out of it), and even let her have her own singing spot on SNL and GMA.

Cut me, cut you, both the blood is red, I GOTCHA.

TO me Prince is more SELF obessesed. Most of the women he likes kinda look like him. I remember my uncles swearing Cat was Prince during an arguement. Just a thought

And kissing his ass....Prince is a colorstruck jerk,I'm sick of ya'll not calling him on it.
Because Bria has "good hair" and light skin, she gets all this attention,he "flaunts" her,and is part of the 3-cd set, talent or not.
Chelsea Rodgers-who looks like that-gets a website, models in perfume ads,get a song with her first & last name in the title,AND if that's not enough,he goes on & on at his site about how he can't help but stare cause she's supercute.
He takes the Twinz to the fashion shows....more flaunting.

Now,hmmm, let's see what did Tamar & Shelby J. get?
Oh,they get to sing with him.but that's basically it.
They have to know how to REALLY SANG,cause he isn't going to have any other use for them, but Bria doesn't have to have a strong voice, her album comes out anyway, but Tamars' didn't.
Tamar and Shelby don't get called supercute as far as I know, and he hasn't done anything else to glorify their kind of beauty.

Don't forget he had a black girlfriend in high school(Kim Upsher, anyone?)but soon as he became famous, those kind of women aren't good enough to have on his arm anymore.

He's sending us a message, stop actin like ya'll don't see it..Latin,Arab,Indian,bi or multiracial is fine, but if your racial makeup dosen't give you flowy hair down to your waist, stay back,I'm too fine for you.

Whoa, it's not that serious. You need to go outside and get some air. It might do you some good nod

GOOD POINT!! Nobody tripped when he was dating Kim Basinger! But hell breaks loose when he hooks up with Nona and Tamar? And Ananda Lewis, Chili from TLC, Susan Moonsie, and Kenya Moore all just go unnoticed. Maybe Prince fans are closet racists hmmm

Wow, I never knew Prince dated Keyna Moore. I know he called her.

I think the problem is media coverage. Prince doesn't advertise his relationships. When blacks in entertainment date, they usually advertise their relationships in black magazines. Ebony magazine has a feature called hottest balck couples and black supermarket tabloids like Vibe often show famous balck couples. I happen to know two black women he's dated that have not been mentioned on this site but nobody knows because Prince doesn't advertise it. It's sad that people dislike Prince based on things that aren't true, but this is the price Prince pays for not engaging the media It leads people to assume all types of crazy things: doesn't date black women; doesn't have black friends; doesn't like black people; hates his family; had a noose job; is gay, etc.
Prince believes he is a musical prophet that has been chosen by Jehova to guide his fans to the "truth".

Everyone has preferences.

As to your opinion, P's been called on it. I think Spike Lee did, in the past, but they buried the hatchet over it. I forget the interview where they addressed this.

Yup, it was Spike Lee. He called Prince out publically and rightfully so in my opinion. IIRC it was purely with regard to his professional decisions rather than his personal choices. Again, rightfully so since his personal preferences are his business as you suggest.

I have the interview he and Spike did where they settled the matter...can't bother to search for it right now though. Prince went on to help Spike finance the Malcolm X film so I imagine they're cool with each other.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

So I guess Rosie needed to get some air when she confronted him about it,I guess Liz Jones needed some air when she brought it up in her book,I guess Jill Jones needed some air when she mentioned in one of her myspace blogs.

Most of you came up with the most predictable responses.
I hate to talk about orgers behind their back smile but I think it was BlaqueKnight who said in some thread awhile ago that he definitely was colorstruck and was always after "butterscotch curlytops" or something, nobody really had a problem with his comment,though..
Anyway,I'm not arguing with you for the rest of my life about this,I said my peace,& did nothing wrong,ok?
I know people who have known Prince and think similar thoughts about this subject.
For the record,I'm not against people dating outside of their race,my boyfriend is white.
He can date whoever he wants,my issue is don't put the butterscotch, good hair or whatever you wanna call it,types all over your website calling them supercute and then when a chocolate woman is around, you have nothing to say about her beauty or sex appeal.
I just hope he's not one of those brothas who has sex with black women and then hides them like he's ashamed and then only takes other types of women out in public with pride, its that kind of mentality that I'm talking about,ok?
I know I sounded all angry, but I'm moody and I like to rant.

I think that the more attention you give race differences the more influence they have (in your own life or in the society as a whole), what I mean is not to ignore them, just to understand them; and I say this in more of a general way not only in love. It seems like labels and stereotypes are manufactured and ppl accept that. And when you understand the dynamics of our differences and the "colonized" view of them then it won't affect you so much. If Adam and Eve were both purple they would still be happy wink

It's not about not handling criticism it's about how the man lives his life, which is frankly none of your or my business. He likes who he likes and you like who you like. It's sounds like it's a personal problem that you really don't need to have. Keep on doing you and don't worry about who someone like Prince dates. That's all.

You have not read or comprehened one thing anyone has stated in response to your original comment. So think what you want at the end of the day it is none of your business who P dates. Get a life and get over it. If he is color struck then that is his issue and it has no bearing on your life.

That reminds me. Even people close to Prince know he's colorstruck. Robin Power was saying something before about how one of the guys in The Time (jellybean? jerome? whoever) was basically telling her (i'm, paraphrasing of course) she must feel really special to be with Prince because he really wasn't into Black women. I think she said the dude told her she was darkest woman Prince had ever been with up to that point.
