Your money, you decide how to spend it, but in all fairness, if you choose not to pay for some service / good (music or anything else) you shouldn't really use that service / good.

I WONT pay for anything online Prince-related!! Once bitten twice shy!! Particularly after his last online fiascos, going back at least 10 years!! I am so glad that I didnt part with $77 for the Lotusfuckup site!!

I havent even paid 88c for the new songs on the 3rdEyeGirl site!! I listened to them for FREE on Facebook, so why would I PAY for them ???

I am OK with OneNPG.org having my email address, but I am sure glad that I didnt give over my credit or debit card details and/or Bank details, and my address!! biggrin biggrin biggrin

And that is why Prince has not released anything in the last couple years, because of people like you. Thanks...

confused

Basically, he hasnt released anything outstanding in about 17 years anyway, so I dont know what all the fuss is about!! My cut-off point for anything official was Emancipation in 1996!! Everything else after that has been very poor-standard!!

After that I got The War jam session and then the VERY last bootleg I got, in terms of performance date and acquistion date, was the Septimo TV Show, which I still play down to today!! The One Night Alone live Box-Set, with the It Aint Over aftershow compilation, just sits on my shelves gathering dust, as does all his official releases after Emancipation, particularly the ones I got FREE with newspapers!!

Interesting. I'm glad I didn't sign up for it either, because their message came off more like a petition-type message, to get Prince fans to demand that Prince release music, from his vault. If Prince wanted to release music from his vault, it seems unlikely he would arrange for a bunch of fans to create a petition-type message to do so. I sssume that he would more or less make a public statement or send out a press release about it. That's why I was skeptic about the message on that site. Then again it's hard to tell what's really going on with all the mysterious stuff that's been happening lately. shrug

It's also possible that it started off as an officially sanctioned (or tolerated) venture and then something changed to make the deal fall apart.

They may have had good intentions, but didn't have a good execution plan, and was not well thought out, but done in haste. It showed up at a time when many fans were just absorbing 2 other sites, 3rdeyegirl and 2013pr1nc3.com, which already has music (or vid) available for fans to purchase, and more or less linked to the NPG camp. So yes, it was a bit awkward and puzzling, that *poof* out-of-the-blue, a site pops up, in a petition-type appearance, requesting fans to join their mission, as ‘one voice’ to (basically) demand that Prince release music from his vault, when at the present time, he is already releasing some new music for purchase to his fans. That’ was like going into someone’s house and starting a petition to obtain their personal possessions. lol

What are you...16? If 88 cents is make or break for you, maybe your time would be more productively spent looking for a better-paying job than ripping off people who work for a living (Prince).

I want to know where the hell they can park for 55p. It's 80p minimum in my town, good job he doesn't live near me or he wouldn't even be able to afford to park.

...don't think so. After the Lotusflower failure Prince knew that people wouldn't jump on another online venture without thinking twice about it.

That's rich in my book.

Doesn't he deserve a 7th chance?

Honestly, at these prices who cares? Can't even by a can of Pepsi for 56p. It's throwaway money. If he was asking for up front cash again I would understand.

A 7th chance...you said it! lol

Everybody has to decide for himself.

BTW: It's not about the money, it's about a principle. How often do you visit a restaurant if the customer service leaves a lot to be desired?

I get what you're saying. At the risk of turning this blog into a restaurant/food review, if the service stinks I wouldn't go back. The food may be good but you can get it elsewhere.

I feel for anyone who's reluctant to jump into another Prince web-related venture. I had the fortune/misfortune of being too broke to join the previous attempts in the past, so I'm not as privy to getting burned as others have. If anyone's lost money out of the previous attempts, especially LotusFlow3r.com, I see why one would be hesitant to invest time and money into the latest one.

Hopefully, this try by Prince will stick and give everyone confidence to try it out.

actualy I thought it was perfect. I enjoy prince music so I'll keep buying it. Yes he may have messed up the delivery in the past but with no advanced payments or subscriptions there really is nothing to lose. Why would I deny myself just because of the past? The other alternative is that I steal it and I'm not gonna do that.

To put it in perspective, I'm gonna grab a Big Mac meal in a bit. It will cost more than everything I've spent at 3rd eye girl, won't last as long and won't be enjoyed as much! smile

I have purchased just about everything by Prince that it is possible to legally purchase (still missing a few Japanese vinyl issues). I certainly would not download something illegally that I can buy in a few seconds for less than a dollar, any more than I would shoplift a candy bar from the supermarket.
