I wonder if it's that orger Chiquetet involved with that site, since she sent out a fan survey sometime ago requesting fans opinions about what they would like to have as far as a website, music, how we would like to see it distribute, etc., etc.

Interesting question. Speaking of coincidences, check this out:

LOL, I just posted a reply to her post on this thread. I am not sure if she is involved but it just seems so likely because of her extensive fan survey she typed up some weeks ago. Of course I could be wrong, and if I am, I apologize to Chiquetet. innocent

I mean when I read the message on OneNPG.org, if just comes off like a global demand (petition) to force Prince to open the vault and sell his music.

Now if DrF posted the link on his site, then more than likely fans will believe it may have some official affiliation with the Prince camp. Maybe 'J' will discuss that on his Spreecast show, and hopefully he'll give some straight answers about it, without responses like "Maybe, I don't know, not sure or I think"', because if he posted the link on his site as an official link, then he has to know the purpose of that site.

I just know this, if they claim with that message, they want to change the world, they can't do that by remaining secretive, especially if they are trying to reach out and gain support. Not complaining, just saying. (Excuse me if I sound a bit harsh, blame it on the caffeine coffee) lol

biggrin I'm not involved (although would be happy to be), but I am all kinds of amused that during that survey, one website went up, and since the results were published, two more have appeared wink

I'm certain that the purple camp are listening to us, I'm just not sure of the mechanics of it all.

I did email the OneNPG group and they have re-iterated that they are a fan-driven initiative. I'm not sure I'm convinced - I suspect there is more of an official link here than they're letting on - but I'm happy to play the game and just get behind it all.

Their plan is to be ONE voice, to get the music released - I know it sounds like a petition, as several have said, but I think the reality of it will be more than that. They wish to stay anonymous to maintain the integrity of the "collective" idea and I respect that.

I'm looking forward to what happens next. I hope these guys read the survey results though!! tease

Prince once released a song called "Silly Game," but instead of thinking that's what he's doing here, he's simply in the mindset that he's some guru or genius mastermind. He's simply wasting time. All the games, and taking way too long to release vault material further devalues what money he could make. In 2013, his revenue from a 25 disc set vault collection is less than half of what it would have been in 1997. The longer he waits, the less fans will care.

I do think the site is Prince, but I'm not gonna think myself silly over it. It either is or isn't, but if it is, stop the games. You're not some Warlock. Just put the music out on pressed cds, and my money will go to you. It should be that simply.

Thanks for replying Chiquetet. smile I guess with your explanation (bold)I can now respect their privacy, whomever they are. You state they want to be ONE voice to get the music released from Prince's vault, but they're sending out two different messages in their introduction: 1) To get Prince to release his music from the vault and 2) "To change the world".

One message is straightforward and the other is vague, so I have to ask, what does fans attempting to get Prince to release music from the vault have to do with attempting to "Change the world? In their attempt to 'Change the world', do they plan on organizing a Prince-fan based charity, and to use a portion of the money, from fans who purchase music from the vault, to donate to specific charities/social organizations? Because other than that, their message to 'Change the World' is vague. It's two, completely different messages being communicated, as 'one'.

The website refers to one single mission only, which is to get the music released.

Regarding the bit about changing the world, are you referring to their first tweet? I assume that was just because of the song from Graffiti Bridge (ie. "We R the New Power Generation, We want 2 change the world").

From my communication with them (which has later been echoed on their site and Twitter feed), I believe they see themselves as literally just initiators and facilitators, so where the project goes will depend on all of us, but the key mission is about the music.

Then I guess we're lucky that it's not illegal to possess or listen to bootlegs.

Remove all the bootleg fans from the Prince fans and what do you have left? I'd guesstimate that about 75% of Prince fans listen to bootlegs...

So I'm guessing, that the people behind the site, are hoping that with an enormous sign-up of fans, it will somehow help in determining his decision to open the vault, but no guarantee of course. Well, can't hurt for trying.
