Oh yeah, artwork for the DVD was mentioned too. That's possibly good news.

He said he was asked to work on some so haaaaay.

lol He may not be able to get that pile of worms back in the can.

^^ Yes, there were fans watching the show live. Wow, that was a great live feed on the DrFunkenberry site. Did anyone else watch it? There was close to 60 on the chat while the show was live.

Lucky for Anthony Malzone who works for Prince, and got to share some of his stories on how he and Prince collaborated with the artwork. He said the 7 doves in the MPLSound cd was Prince's idea as well as the jellyfish. I like how Anthony stated that Anthony said Prince went right into the studio after he saw how the jellyfish looked on the draft of the artwork for the site, and wrote Disco Jellyfish the same night. It was nice to hear that he is working with Prince. Anthony's mom is so cool, and was so elated that she got to meet Prince. She said he was very charming and gracious.

I have to hand it to DrFunkenberry.com for putting that together and thanks to Sara the host. She did a good job.

You can still go to the Drfunkenberry.com site and watch the recorded version.

Being one of the "Haters on the internet" that I am...I guess it's just in my nature that I find it extremely comical that even this wasn't on the Letusfuov3r site. disbelief evillol

Well it was Anthony's exhibit, not so much Prince's even though Anthony did say some of Prince's ideas contributed to some of the art on the LF site, in which some of that art was part of Anthony's exhibit for sale during the exhibit.

Doing a live feed on Drfunkenberry's site for free gave people access to the show in real time. and they didn't have to pay to watch it, and the recorded version on Drfunkenberry's site can be accessed anytime for interested customers, which brings more customers to Anthony. Good way to give those watching the recorded show a chance to go to Anthony's website to purchase some of his art online. I don't remember Anthony giving his website address to his online art during the live feed. I'll have to go back and watch.

Who knows, maybe Prince will change it up next year so that the site could be accessed for free on one end, and those choosing to join as a member to get discounts on concert tix and other goodies, will more than likely have to pay for that. Just like it was with the NPGMC site in the past.

Didn't know the good Dr. had live feed from the exhibit until today, but enjoyed seeing the framed, displayed artwork and the good turnout. I thought the ltd. prints were $1,000.00 with a 15% discount if you were a member of lotusfow3r. Does anyone know if the $1,450.00 price Sara showed was for a matted and framed print? I hope Prince follows through with a Montruex Dvd too. Did anyone catch the comment that was made by Anthony (I believe) about some other art work that Prince was collaborating on with someone else? If so, wonder what's going on with that? I would consider the four bills GiGi made mention of for Anthony's work and probably a little more if Prince put his signature on them, but I wish Prince would be a bit realistic about the economy today and the people that have supported his music from the very beginning. Many, if not most of us have families and responsibilities that prevent us from indulging in things that cost this much. If the DVD becomes available, perhaps most could afford that. Still lovin'the muzak and fond memories P.!!

@Elle85n09 - Thanks for tuning in. In answer to your question - the $1,450 price tag includes the frame. Without it, $1000 (or $850 for lflow3r members).

Not 'everyone' is complaining. Some Prince fans will bitch about everything he does if it doesn't fit into their mold of how he should be doing things.

Do I wish we had more new music? Yes, but that's a given. But I do think they've supplied what was implied with the membership.

No they did not. I believe a lot of people signed up with assumption that the site would have new music every week or month. When at no time was that stated.
I do not think this site was set up for anything but promoting the latest CD, making in downloadable, and providing some access to the few concerts P has done this year. At no time was the site promoted as a 24 hour a day site for all things Prince.

What does this do if it is not implying these things?

Clay says future plans for Lotus flow3r.com include a hybrid documentary-music video. But the deal-sealer, he concedes, is the potential for streaming live, VIP-only concerts from Prince's Los Angeles mansion. "There could be a live chat going on with members watching a concert, and Prince could actually play requests," Clay says. He also claims a colleague has organized 10 albums of old Prince music never released in any form.

If this is what you're using to sell memberships to an upcoming site how can you say it is not implied?

Main Entry: im·ply
Pronunciation: \im-ˈplī\
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): im·plied; im·ply·ing
Etymology: Middle English emplien, from Anglo-French emplier to entangle — more at employ
Date: 14th century

1 obsolete : enfold, entwine
2 : to involve or indicate by inference, association, or necessary consequence rather than by direct statement
3 : to contain potentially
4 : to express indirectly
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Sorry but I must say..
If u are not musicians or artists, u really have no idea how long projects take nor how much effort, energy and focus it requires. So chillax enjoy the ride it'll come. Be grateful, It's not easy bringing the future in2 reality, I know everyone is hating and complaining I'm just gonna laugh when the P-mister does somethig that is gonna totally blow all ur minds..
Just wait.. savior the time in between..
U think he's being "wrong" and disrespectin but he's trying 2 make leaps forward 2 bring future on2 earth, ya'll have no idea... Just wrong all the hate..Just wait n see.. wink He's Enlightened he knows what's goin down..
[Edited 12/14/09 20:22pm]

Well, I am a musician and your argument holds no water in this case. The wait and see is a favorite excuse of those with BPF (Battered Prince Fan) Disorder, however you keep talking about the future...wait and see.

Well, the failures of lotusflow3r are now in the present. We don't need to wait and see, the phones are off NOW, the e-mail support is gone, NOW. The enticing promises were for classic concert material ie, recorded in the past. The 10 albums were "compiled" as in past tense, already done. Prince no longer lives in LA so the time for webcasts of concerts from his LA mansion are in the past. So the vast majority of what was hinted at was already to go and something as simple as getting t-shirts in the mail...there is no "wait and see" for that. You have it, or you don't, and they don't.

Yes, maybe something is in the works for LF, maybe it will be amazing, but that doesn't change the present and making excuses for those failures only hurts us, the fans by giving Prince more room to screw us over in the future.

If you care to look back, I have always pointed out that the TOS for the site never really promised anything for the long haul, however, they haven't even made good on the simple concrete promise of a damn t-shirt for many fans and certainly were just yanking our chains with the implied content used as a carrot to get us to sign up and pay.

The year is not over for LF, but people are already left with no contact from a BUSINESS that continues to solicit new memberships and sell $1000 art prints, yet will not communicate with their current customers needing service. This is BUSINESS, you ain't too far gone to see that, but maybe the people running LF and Prince unfortunately are.

Much respect Mars, I dig what ur saying and I honor it.
I was not referring 2 the buisness side of things I was talking about the projects and the Music of the Man/Human+Being/Prince

I don't get in2 buisness aspects cuz buisness is a joke it holds people 2 things or situations that no matter how hard u might try 2 make something happen it just dosen't work or it fails 2 fall in 2 place.
Then u fail 2 live up 2 others expectations.
It's a constriction of the 1 inside, when u take away freedom chaos ensues.
I know ur a musician so u can understand it on some level.
He's taking on record companies etc, it is a very difficult world.
Especially 2 have free creative reign in with the Capitalism going on with the big dawgs, I have been there seen it all and it's dirty dirty world.
So that being said..

I think Prince has always been ahead of the game and I will say again, bringing the future down 2 earth when u are at a creative level like P is must be a bit of an unfolding. That's why his shows have been so amazing, I just really see past all the judgments is hard 2 fully actualize all the way down 2 the person watering the lawn. Especially when u dream way outside of the box, or see things so cleary as Prince does. So getting others 2 work or be able 2 understand him must be very complicated and agrivating for him.. I'm just sayin maybe cut some slack. Take it easy and enjoy the ride is all. I started looking at the whole picture and realized he is doing the best he can, just like many a few who tried in their time... LENNON,JIMMY Etc.

I've been watching everyone get all funky on here the last year or so, just don't know what happened 2 the old org. The + has gone down the tubes, fam are mean and rude 2 1 another. I mean people where snaping a few months after Lotusflow3r opened, did'nt even give any time just endulged and said we want more.. hence no more candy. Man if it was me I would have been hurt and frustrated trying 2 give something 2 the world and know 1 is ever satisfied they gripe and moan, it's crazy. LOL I don't think I would have sent the shirts either, I don't know If it were me I would think the fans care more for the $ or the Materialistc then they do about his gift of music.

I have had 2 look at what he's gone through, I have compassion and understanding for him, if it were me I would feel used, it's like no 1's in the heart anymore. Look what happened at Paisley Park Jam and left his yard trashed, I don't know takers and givers I guess. What would u do if "fans" or people were calling the people u love horrid names, like they have on here. Why is that not addressed? What did he do? He still had a concert at the Park and opened the doors, I don't get how people can be so cold. It's just $, a piece of freaking paper ugh so much nasty energy in money look what it's doin. Lol not 2 mention it's 77 bucks I mean it's not that much, really??? For what is on there I think it's well spent. I din't even order the shirt cuz I didn't care, I figured hey I'll let him keep my out of his pocket expense, it's not much but I don't care about the "free shirt" I care about his music.
I hope 1 day love is the exchange instead of money, maybe we could all be rich then if we learned how 2 love.
I think Prince is doing the best he can. U gotta take in2 consideration where he's coming from 2 understand why he might not be able 2 get things provided how when and why..
Some people get him, I do
1 day the world will thank him for his deeds
He's a gift on this planet...
One day humanity will get it..
Just like Jimmy or Lennon or Elvis
Shall I go on 2 list any other how bout Mozart
Just sayin my twocents
I'm seeing it as an observer that's all.
[Edited 12/15/09 1:18am]

I think the problem you have is not seeing how his focus HAS changed to making bank instead of creating like he used to. I'm not saying he lacks creativity, but everything seems money driven. Because of that people are now EXPECTING the business side to follow through. As they should. If you don't like someones creative output - discuss, gripe, get over it, whatever. But if you don't like someones business model and you are a victim - you have every right to complain AND seek justice. Prince has become that guy who every time you see him he punches you in the arm (for fun...lol) and on occasion he does not. So you let your guard down, only to be punched in the arm again. After a while you just keep your guard up, or possibly stop hanging out with the guy cause you are sick of it. You really can't dog people for trying to learn from Prince's past behavior when it comes to the way he treats fans. It's not THEIR problem. It's his.
Also - he's not the only genius in the world. I know a few, and they don't behave like Prince. Leaping forward doesn't mean you have to land on your fans.

I doubt I said that since I did not even join the site since I did not see anything being promised. Which once again is the whole point. A lot of you signed up for something with no idea what you going to receive. The whole thing was a crap shoot but we do know from past experience that P is going to put out some music so I am pretty sure that if downloading is your thing you will have a chance to download another album but I doubt any promises for anything else.

I'd have to agree with you Zannaloaf. Recently I accidentally erased all of the contnet I downloaded of Prince that was on my DVR with performances and interviews regarding the Lotusflow3r album. Normally I'd be having a nervous breakdown since I'm such an avid Prince collector, but surprisingly, I wasn't even all that upset! I came to the realization that my attitude for Prince is changing cause in all honesty, I'm just getting sick of all the money I've spent, time and effort I put into getting all this material from Prince that he really doesn't want us to have anymore. In my opinion, he cares more about how much money he can make off of us rather than willingly sharing his music. $1,000 art prints, $2000 picture books, $77 websites with barely any content, T-shirts with a small graphic of the lotusflow3r album cover...that doesn't seem like a person who wants to share his gift of music to me. back in the first installment of NPGMC the $100 I spent was worth every penny. He gave us the music, the videos, the interative experience that gave us a glimpse of how a fan website should be run.

Now his online ventures are a joke boasting about live streaming concerts, a string of new CD material coming straight from the vault, VIP tickets, exclusive videos, and "much, much, more" without delivering much that was implied.

It seems that every time he opens up his mouth, rather than talk about his music or performances he talks about how much money he made, how much other musicians should be getting, how record companies suck and how the world is setting us up for failure. I remember in the last Tavis smiley interview, Tavis asks Prince about a lyric in Dreamer and he quickly avoids the question and talks about some joke about people misinterpreting his lyrics. Then he proceeds to talk about conspiracy theories of chem trails and how they are brainwashing us to be corrupt, viiolent and mindless followers.

Moreover, most of the material that has been available this year have been items other than his music (T-Shirts, Pictures, Books, Ipods, artwork, etc). The irony is that most of the content available for purchase were available on other people's sites - not his own.

I will always be a fan of the music first, but as for everything else, I'm starting not to care. Coming from a Prince fan since age 7, that statement says quite allot.

Are you the one that posted some black and white sketches of Prince in the org artist forum of this site some time ago? If those were your sketches, those are awesome and very close to what Prince looked like in those drawings. You should repost them in the org artist section again. I remember all the compliments you received.

Especially 2 have free creative reign in with the Capitalism going on with the big dawgs, I have been there seen it all and it's dirty dirty world.

Many excellent points and truths here. If folks just stepped outside of their immediate comfort level and/or desires they could look at the whole picture and consider an alternate point of view.
