So what? If he doesn't update it then people won't rejoin. What I don't get is why people who didn't join, spend so much time complaining about something that doesn't concern them. But, then they start begging people for the content they aren't supposed to get.

So what? falloff

The so what is you won't have to rejoin, Miss Einstein. It'll be A U T O-matic. The continued fleecing of of you. evillol

I'm not complaining because I knew better than to join, so I didn't. giggle I'm just pointing out the big ass elephant in the room that some of y'all refuse to acknowledge is there, when you're busy cheerleading how he's honored the agreement.

As for begging for content, that's for people without friends. Not a problem that I have. wink

But, you still take the content WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT, which makes you a low-life common thief. It cracks me up how you 'haters' get all uppity thinking you're so clever/smart by not joining, but still stealing the material. nuts

As for me being "Miss Einstein", it's real hard to figure out that when/if it comes time to renew, that all we'll have to do is change the account info on LF. I'll be happy to rejoin if there's new stuff, but I kind of doubt that it will go past this first year.

falloff I haven't taken anything from the LF website without paying for it. Most of the stuff on LF is stuff I already had and already paid for. The remaining stuff is nothing I want and what I want most definitely ain't on the LF site. If it makes me "uppity" for choosing not to pay for something that I've already paid for, so be it.

I've been crystal clear since March that if something worthwhile was added, I'd jump at joining. Yet, here we are in December and I haven't been moved into joining. shrug

Do I think that makes me so clever and smart? Ya damn skippy! lol

I'm not trying to gloat but you keep trying to make it personal by attempting to attack my character, when it's not my character you need to be addressing. I'm not the one with the dysfunctional website and already enabled access to your banking information. kiss2

Well, this line, "As for begging for content, that's for people without friends. Not a problem that I have.", doesn't make it sound like you paid for any LF content. Sorry if I assumed we were discussing the same thing.

I gotta stack of them from the Celebration for $7 each. Yeah! $1000!!! LOL You can get this sort of stuff from the Bowie site and its always signed by Bowie.

I've noticed those on the bowieart site. For a couple of hundred dollars you can get a numbered, limited edition print signed by Bowie himself.

I'm a collector of limited edition rock art prints but the Prince ones seem to be a very poor investment.

My girlfriend is a fan of Placebo and they are selling a fully signed print for £35 at the moment whilst a few years ago I bought a limited edition signed Brian Wilson print from his website for 40 bucks. I have also heard that on the current Paul Weller tour they are selling signed prints of his 22 Dreams artwork for £75... it all makes the prices for these prints of Prince seem very excessive.

I'm also a collector. I purchased some prints from bowienet, Awesome deal. High quality stuff. One year they sold calendars signed by Bowie and Mick Rock, I believe for like $35, I know it wasn't much and was very happy with the deal.

I've also bought some prints from Santana that were signed ($75 - and about the size of the GBridge prints). He is a legend now and gone..I got some signed photos from Johnny Cash for I believe $90 each? I may purchase the Placebo poster. I'm not a huge fan but like some of the albums. The Paul Weller prints sound awesome.

I would like to get some signed prints from Graham Coxon (Blur), I believe they are a little pricey but I love the artwork.

If the Prince prints drop to around $500 I may think about it.

I forgot to mention...www.newburycomics.com - I've purchased some big names - signed cd covers from them. They are also reputable. One of the best record stores on the east coast. I watch them every few days. When they have big releases signed they sell out in a couple days usually..

I posted this morning that Dr. Funkenberry will be broadcasting live from the Art Show tonight. Don't know why the thread was locked and and there was a link to this thread that does not report about the web cast. It starts in about 20 minutes. I hope no one misses it because they didn't know about it.

^^ Yes, there were fans watching the show live. Wow, that was a great live feed on the DrFunkenberry site. Did anyone else watch it? There was close to 60 on the chat while the show was live.

Lucky for Anthony Malzone who works for Prince, and got to share some of his stories on how he and Prince collaborated with the artwork. He said the 7 doves in the MPLSound cd was Prince's idea as well as the jellyfish. I like how Anthony stated that Anthony said Prince went right into the studio after he saw how the jellyfish looked on the draft of the artwork for the site, and wrote Disco Jellyfish the same night. It was nice to hear that he is working with Prince. Anthony's mom is so cool, and was so elated that she got to meet Prince. She said he was very charming and gracious.

I have to hand it to DrFunkenberry.com for putting that together and thanks to Sara the host. She did a good job.

You can still go to the Drfunkenberry.com site and watch the recorded version.

Thank you for putting it in some context, finally...
Thank you for your first sentence, especially...

Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!

And PS @ NuPwrSoul: I don't even expect the man to record new stuff to make us happy, i just expect him to put something from his massive archive on that site to make us feel better. In this respect, he could go for a 3-year time-out and still satisfy us. Him being "active" doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the site being "quiet", nothing. And yes, you might be right about some content when renewals are in question. But then I HOPE EVERYBODY here knows how to show him a finger... confused

He has enough leeway, that's why he takes advantage of his fans, many of whom have a limited income.

Ok, agree Lotusflow3r doesn't spoil us as we are used to. But cause things are slow, doesn't make me think we will not get more in future. Prince will always produce music. Maybe we are too greedy, and he decides to give "no more candy" (quote of this song): Too much haters on the internet !!!

But did all artists above produce about 40 albums since 1978. Look at your CD and VHS/DVD collection, we've got lot of exclusives.

Crystal Ball; Chocolate invasion, C-Note, Xpectation, The slaughterhouse, 11 1-hour audioshows, loads of weekly video's en downloads during npgmc; we've got frontrow-tickets, we've got acces to soundchecks and aftershows. CD's for free at concerts, concerts on TV, exclusive vinyl releases.

Maybe if we back off a little the man will step forward again. I hope and trust on that

1978-2009 - I count at least 36 CDs worth of new music - all of the studio albums, all of the soundtracks (except girl 6), crystal ball, the truth, the vault. This doesn't count the music from the various versions of NPGMC, the live albums, Kamasutra, NEWS, the madhouse CDs, or the various hits packages, some of which included new material.

To pick one example off of your list, exactly how do Michael Jackson fans get tons of stuff? He only released 10 studio albums, the first was way back in 1972, and one of the 10 was mostly a compilation (HIStory). And the Jackson 5 released 15. Prince released as much new music this year as Michael Jackson did in the past 21 years.

Agree 100% also you did read what you would purchansing before you signed up correct. So you knew well in advance what you were getting, also the website delivered on what it promised. ((((IF YOU'LL BE PATIENT THERE MAYBE MORE ON THE WAY))))!!!!! ::After you unlock the combo the website states, {{That combo will unlock the ability to subscribe to LotusFlow3r.com, get his new albums, see loads of photos and videos, and have access to pre-sale concert tix, all for a annual fee of $77.}}

Sure, they did that , but they also veiled press releases and interviews stating to the effect that the designers of the web site had to go through a lot of archival items. If, by that, they meant the same old videos we've seen time and again, then that is Prince being a snake oil salesman, I have lost tons of respect for this guy (and that's what he is, a living, breathing male just like the same Joe busting his hump for a living), and as Wendy and Lisa once said, "He may be a genius in music, but he isn't in life."

To defend Prince's business practices is to suffer yourself as a lackey and a sycophant.
