I don't really wanna spend about one thousand dollars for one of those very nice and unique prints. unframed.

We'r rather keep one of our treasures on our wall, a very dear painting of an Italian artist Scarabattoli:

Oh look, an "article" announcing this ridiculous exposition:

http://www.digitalcity.co...francisco/

Malzone is the lead artist for Prince's LOTUSFLOW3R.com interactive galaxy, but has also been responsible for the musician's stage design, album covers and tour posters. So every time you've seen Prince in concert, bought his CDs or plastered your room with his posters, that's Malzone's heart and soul you're displaying.

Considering the rest of the article seems to be nothing more an a pathetic copy-paste job from a press release, one can only assume the above quote comes from Malzone or his agent. Here is a guy producing AWFUL RUBBISH -- which is bad enough -- but then he is pretending he's done a gazillion things, when all of that is simply a rehash of the handful of designs he did for LF, plus the two designs for the Monaco gig (OK, but barely more than a bunch of Photoshop filters ona still frame from the Tonight Show) and the Paris gig (horrible crap).

Also, why does it say "every time"? Malzone has only been working for Prince for a year or so. How much has he produced in that time?

What kind of jankity gallery is this? It doesn't list what type of print they are (lithographs, silkscreens, etc), whether they're signed & numbered or just signed, or what kind of paper they're printed on. All of this information should be standard for a gallery selling limited edition prints.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

They are taking the piss with this aren't they??? Who do they expect is gonna buy this shit?
I remember the last time Prince officially endorsed a limited edition Print... I still have it on my wall. It was the Graffiti Bridge artwork signed by Steve Parke and limited to 200, sold via Glam Slam this was only $50.
Who is gonna pay $1000 for a crappy print? Look online & most rock art prints like this sell for about $40. Total rip off.

Probably alot cheaper to print the one you like off on a decent printer and take it to one of those shops that transfer pics onto canvas-whatever size you like-for not even close to half of $1000

in fact-you can even take the image in on disc i think

lol-like anyone needs a Lotus reminder on their wall-most folk are trying to forget the bloody site wink

Maybe i missed something, but is it confirmed that this Malzone guy did both the LF website and the Monaco artwork??

yes he did both - head over to www.sfae.com where you can view the art and buy it if you have a cool $1,000.00 to spend per piece

I just received another email stating that the Prints are signed by the artist and embossed with a gold "love symbol", it does not state that they are numbered but states that Prince has endorsed an art print "for the first time ever".

Read my previous post above and you will note that the statement is an outright lie. My print from Glam Slam was also embossed with a gold symbol, signed & numbered for hell of a lot less dollars... don't be fooled.

Well shame, be happy for the guy. It's a great opportunity for him.

Co-Sign the artist is just getting an opportunity to show off his work at an art gallery. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head to buy the art.

You bought 100 lotusflow3r memberships (and got 25 t-shirts), you dropped $2100 on the Prince Opus shipping in Oct 09 that is still on pre-order, now you've got an extra $7000 burning a hole in your pocket. What to do? Luckily there is a solution. Browse on over to the SF Art Exchange and you can get a full set of "The Art of Prince" for only $7000! Since you got those LF memberships you'll save 15% and can use that extra cash to buy some solid gold ice cream. No word on upcoming prints of disconnected telephones or unattended e-mail accounts

I bought one from the NPG catalog for $50, more expensive than the $7 at Celebration but the air fare from the UK would have bumped up the price lol

Even at $50 it was a bargain compared to the $1000 they are asking for these pics
