Not really digging these, I think I would rather pay the artist for the Coachella art...these look like he did a live trace in illustrator from a photo...and especially the price he is selling it at...

that's what I was trying to say. Not much really going on.Seriously, if you know anything about fine art. did he even take the photos himself? Or are those someone else's worked together or on top of? Just curious how much he really did.

do you think maybe, just maybe, that we shouldn't be so eager to swallow every piece of bait Prince throws at the public?

Beatles fans get box sets

Beck fans get new music off his web site for free

Bjork fans get endless singles and remixes and B-sides

Hendrix, Grateful Dead and Doors fans get official bootleg releases

Bob Dylan fans get quality music both old and new

Led Zep fans get multi-DVD concert releases

Michael Jackson and Madonna fans get tons of stuff (albeit not that well thought out, yet they get it all the same)

Pearl Jam and Black Crowes fans get instant concert CDs

Miles Davis fans get endless box sets and lately a 70+ CD/DVD box set with original replicas of album sleeves

and what do we get? please tell me? I joined here to have a voice, I have listened to Prince since the early 80s, saw Purple Rain in Los Angeles when it came out, saw him live in 88 and 92, bought all the music he put out, but never ever any merchandise.

I stupidly joined Scrotusflow3r.com and have basically forgotten about it. I just don't ever sit on a computer and watch Prince videos, wear t-shirts or stand in line to buy a ticket (not for anybody). I just want the new music I love, and it isn't happening,

Well said. Well put & not offensive at all. That's, imo, a clean, genuine & righteous complaint.
Much props.

PP sold the limited #'d GBridge artwork, numbered & signed by Steve Parke at the Celebration for like $7 hahahahaaaaa. Originally it sold - I belive for a few hundred in NPG catalog.

It's cool if you can buy this stuff but an investment???? Nah.

I bought one from the NPG catalog for $50, more expensive than the $7 at Celebration but the air fare from the UK would have bumped up the price lol

Even at $50 it was a bargain compared to the $1000 they are asking for these pics

I gotta stack of them from the Celebration for $7 each. Yeah! $1000!!! LOL You can get this sort of stuff from the Bowie site and its always signed by Bowie.

All that matters are the terms of sale and service on lotusflow3r.com :
http://lotusflow3r.com/terms.html

And becauese I learned my lesson well in the past I didn't believe the hype. All your hopes you projected on this site were just wishful thinking, but nothing more concrete than the album download was promised.

Not to get on a tangent, but I'm skeptical that all of those T&Cs would be upheld as drafted under CA law. For example, the T&Cs give them the right to impose new T&Cs at their discretion at any time - it's tough to believe that CA law, which is very consumer friendly, would permit such a term.

Thank you for putting it in some context, finally...
Thank you for your first sentence, especially...

Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!

And PS @ NuPwrSoul: I don't even expect the man to record new stuff to make us happy, i just expect him to put something from his massive archive on that site to make us feel better. In this respect, he could go for a 3-year time-out and still satisfy us. Him being "active" doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the site being "quiet", nothing. And yes, you might be right about some content when renewals are in question. But then I HOPE EVERYBODY here knows how to show him a finger... confused

Ok, agree Lotusflow3r doesn't spoil us as we are used to. But cause things are slow, doesn't make me think we will not get more in future. Prince will always produce music. Maybe we are too greedy, and he decides to give "no more candy" (quote of this song): Too much haters on the internet !!!

But did all artists above produce about 40 albums since 1978. Look at your CD and VHS/DVD collection, we've got lot of exclusives.

Crystal Ball; Chocolate invasion, C-Note, Xpectation, The slaughterhouse, 11 1-hour audioshows, loads of weekly video's en downloads during npgmc; we've got frontrow-tickets, we've got acces to soundchecks and aftershows. CD's for free at concerts, concerts on TV, exclusive vinyl releases.

Maybe if we back off a little the man will step forward again. I hope and trust on that

Agree 100% also you did read what you would purchansing before you signed up correct. So you knew well in advance what you were getting, also the website delivered on what it promised. ((((IF YOU'LL BE PATIENT THERE MAYBE MORE ON THE WAY))))!!!!! ::After you unlock the combo the website states, {{That combo will unlock the ability to subscribe to LotusFlow3r.com, get his new albums, see loads of photos and videos, and have access to pre-sale concert tix, all for a annual fee of $77.}}
Just LOVE......................... All it's FREE!!!!

Not 'everyone' is complaining. Some Prince fans will bitch about everything he does if it doesn't fit into their mold of how he should be doing things.

Do I wish we had more new music? Yes, but that's a given. But I do think they've supplied what was implied with the membership.

You're kidding right? Photoshop is no different of a tool than any other art medium. the problem is that everyone has it and a lot of schlock gets made and seen on the internet. but that is true of painting as well...lots of garbage painting getting shows. There is nothing really wrong with the stuff done for the Lotuscover...it's just bereft of any mew ideas. The other stuff is kinda - meh. It's a trace over a photograph that I'm betting he didn't take. More than anything it's just kinda lame for the price. I can justify a lot of money on the right art - even prints, this is not it. For $1000 you can but originals that blow these away.

By that logic...Prince doesn't have to put anything else on the website ever and he can still charge his subscribers 77.00 annually.

So how many years would you non-complainers remain silent on that? hmmm

I don't know how you got there from what I said. I said they've posted what they said they'd post for this year's subscription and we still have months to go. Hopefully we'll get more before it ends. If they do another year, then of course new content would be expected.

Would I like better quality videos to download and keep? Yes, but that was never part of the deal anyway. Is it everything I'd hoped? No, but considering I've read what some other, not nearly as talented, people charge for their sites, it's ok.

I don't know what he's going to do with his site and honestly, since I didn't join it, it's really of no consequence to me. However, I have noticed that when the people that are dissatisfied, speak on it, there are those that like to think, "they supplied what was implied with the membership" and quote the agreement.

I'm simply pointing out that if y'all really want to go by that, then Prince doesn't have to do anything else with the site...ever...because as y'all like to point out, that was never implied. Although, he did state very clearly that he was going to charge 77.00 annually for each membership.

So what? If he doesn't update it then people won't rejoin. What I don't get is why people who didn't join, spend so much time complaining about something that doesn't concern them. But, then they start begging people for the content they aren't supposed to get.

I've noticed those on the bowieart site. For a couple of hundred dollars you can get a numbered, limited edition print signed by Bowie himself.

I'm a collector of limited edition rock art prints but the Prince ones seem to be a very poor investment.

My girlfriend is a fan of Placebo and they are selling a fully signed print for £35 at the moment whilst a few years ago I bought a limited edition signed Brian Wilson print from his website for 40 bucks. I have also heard that on the current Paul Weller tour they are selling signed prints of his 22 Dreams artwork for £75... it all makes the prices for these prints of Prince seem very excessive.

I'm not complaining because I knew better than to join, so I didn't. giggle I'm just pointing out the big ass elephant in the room that some of y'all refuse to acknowledge is there, when you're busy cheerleading how he's honored the agreement.

As for begging for content, that's for people without friends. Not a problem that I have. wink

Talent has nothing to do with it. IF you want people to pay you need to provide content. LOTS of artists provide FAR more content and charge nothing. It's not like - oh, you're more talented, so feel free to do less for your fans and charge them a ridiculous fee for n real return. Which oddly brings us back to $1000 for a print....lol.
