Saw The Cars there last week. They were horrendous. Sound was muddy. But that may have been The Cars' fault. They are known for being bad live and they lived up to their reputation!

I saw a band called Oysterhead there once and they sounded good. Tip for Palladium is to get close to the stage, so get there early. It is very hard to see from the back or sides, and there is no room to move around.

Thanks 4 the advice... Looks like I'm going 2 the House of Blues 2nite though....!

Ya, I'm behind on the HOB news. That is great - now I really wish I had the 10pm tix. Maybe some will pop up. Still hesitant to buy 7pm for $220 though. Two would be almost $500! And will probably have a warmup feel to it inevitably.

Have an awesome time!

Very happy for all those attending today that you don't have to worry about transportation between venues.

You will be "wanded" for sure and maybe "patted" down

this "small venue" secret was cracking me and my friends up yesterday... another great story addition to his L.A. residency

I can't wait to hear what ensues tonight!

Jazz Café - Doors 10pm / Show 11pm - 250 capacity - Restaurant
Private Charity Event - Doors 12am / Show 1am - 100 capacity - Foundation Room

now, that's just silly. how are we supposed to boogie in those dinner booths?

i wonder if the jazzcafe show is going to be seated & bluesy/jazzy like the troubadour while the 7pm is going to be a boogie down regular show.

Any parking recommendations besides the $15 valet? I have tickets to the 7PM and the Midnight shows, not sure what to do with my time between shows..... (I live about 20 minutes away)

My suggestion: Make 10:15pm dinner reservations at Katana. 323-650-8585 If you find HOB restaurant is not your thing, doesn't stay open, etc, go across the street. Valet parking (at HOB) is the way to go, because you could be leaving at an unreasonable hour for normal activities on a Wedesday night.

Guys, I've got my tickets for the 10PM show. What time do you think I should get there to stand in line? I want a good spot on the floor (or a good table in the restaurant... whatever they set up). But I have no idea how early to line up for this sort of thing. If doors open at 10PM, should I get there at 8:30?

LOL. Well, I'm at work so the earliest I could get there is 7:30. And this is the jazz show. So I'm not sure there will be a rail. Then again, I have no idea what to expect!

I hope I can meet some of you tonight as we boogie in those dinner booths. This Forum has been so helpful and these shows have just been an incredible experience, I can't believe it... Thanks everyone.

I'll have a purple Minnesota Vikings ballcap tonight, blue jeans, black jacket. Please say hello.

All of this sounded intriguing, but the possible short set times turned me off, especially with the high prices. When I think about it, he really should have scheduled these shows in reverse. He should have done the charity show first at 7 for 500, but then all the people who paid for that could stay for the rest of the show. Then he could charge 200 for the next show, and then those people could stay for the final show, and finally those who paid 100 could only watch the final late show. I think if he did it that way, more people would get more value for what they paid for, and I think I definitely would have spent even the 500.

If I am reading the tweet correctly if you follow the House of Blues on twitter and retweet their tweet "I reallllly want tickets to see Prince at tonight!" you will apparently be entered in a drawing to win tix for tonight.

Darn!!! mad I still hope someone will try to stream it. BTW ihatephish, thank you soooooooooooooo much for that lovely live stream from the Troubadour--it turned out so much better than anyone (including you!) expected--despite the loud obnoxious woman (That's not my wife--classic lol)! You made my night (on my son's b'day but he went out with friends). It was such a thrill for me--felt like I was there. So, looking forward to see him at the Forum this weekend--but I know it doesn't equal the small club experience. cool

I'm very glad that work is going to keep me busy today back here in Oz wink

I will be spending the day appreciating how incredibly fortunate I was to be able to go to LA and see Prince 5 times in 10 days. Absolutely counting my blessings and practising acceptance...

...and not giving a thought to the fact that if I'd just stayed a few more days I'd be seeing him perform at the House Of Blues... *breathes*

To all those going, have a wonderful, WONDERFUL time!!! I saw on Twitter that Mike Phillips will be there again too. It will surely be absolutely awesome cool
