Just passed by the Palladium and there's the purple symbol shining on their wall… guessing that sort of confirms it?

Wow I just saw Faith No More there... razz

I can't imagine them selling 4,000 tickets at $220 a pop...

Does it have smaller rooms for private parties? (Like House of Blues does.) If Palladium does, maybe that's where the other 2 shows are.

I am tired already! But this is 2nd time in my life I have this kind of opportunity so I will post that review you guys. I have no freaking idea how I will handle the logistics either. If its Palladium and Henry Ford like you guys are saying it should be easy... I might need a couple of red bulls, a picnic basket and a Segway to keep me going... and yes I am working all day Thurs/Fri...

No worries! You will be feeling high the rest of the week! This really is a rare opportunity! I'm glad for you! Enjoy like crazy, and please come back and paint the org purple with all the details from the shows!

Oh, blue light...

Wow, if the first show is at the palladium, I agree w the fact that they must have gotten the prices wrong. There is NO way he's filling that place for $220 a ticket.

Sound will be terrible in there if it's not full too.

I'm just psyched to be that close to him, but I'm bummed at the idea it won't last as long as the first or third show.

Yeah but you never know with Prince. I was thinking it could be about a 90 minute show depending on the where/what the next venue is.

2nd show - Doors Open 10 Show at 11

3rd show - Doors Open 12 Show at 1am

I doubt he'll start any of it exactly on time but it will be close to on time. So depending on next venue 11pm show could go to 12:30am possibly.

HAVE FUN!!! Enjoy! Tell us all about it.

Hey guys,

The Bob Dylan tribute at the House of Blues has been postponed. I'm willing to bet it's going to be there.

Sweet.... I hope it's HOB & not Palladium.

Makes more sense 4 the smaller shows Too.

Also, the Foundation Room inside the HOB Tweeted this last night:

Getting from the Palladium to the HOB may be tricky for those going to multiple shows... hopefully the traffic gods will be kind.

i was there in December (?) i think, for the black crowes, but it was my first time there, so i can't compare. its still just a circular cavernous venue that reminds of a disco style roller skate rink with a flat floor that offers very few good sight lines.

and, if the place isn't full, i can't imagine the sound will be any good either. too echoey.

this all makes sense. though getting from the palladium and parking at the hob could be somewhat problematic. i would say the palladium is on, based on the lit up symbol.

Phew! That was lucky - I was in and out in about 20 seconds.....

I have word that at least one will be at House of blues, So if it is more than one venue I can only imagine what he's going to pull.

Confirmed. HOB tonight at least 1 show

Well I'd also heard yesterday from a rather reputable source that all 3 shows were going to be at HOB. That's why I thought it was so odd when I saw the Palladium thing. I guess it's possible that it's just Live Nation promoting Prince in general (since I believe they own the Palladium). That seems like a pretty cryptic way of doing it though.

As for the Palladium itself, it's not the best venue in town by a long shot. I wasn't there in the old days but what people say about it is true!

About to get tix to the 7:00 show... would be so mad if tickets dropped in price later in the day!!

I'm doing the trifecta tonight!!!

And sorta hoping it's all at HOB so I don't have to chase prince between shows.

House of Blues makes sense capacity-wise. How's the sound there? I've never been.

LocationReception CapacityBanquet CapacityTheater Seating Capacity
Music Hall 800 200 350
Music Hall with Rails 1,000 315 400
Porch Restaurant 250 200 50
Foundation Room 300 120 70
Foundation Parish 75 50 70
Foundation Patio 30 26 26
Captains Room 35 35 N/A
Entire Venue 1,500 500 1,500

It's not. I went there lots of times in the 90s & saw Motley Cruw there in 08 shortly after the renovation. I always thought it was a terrible sounding venue for rock shows.

The sound system was a notch or two above "appalling", that was the only noticeable improvement. Oh, except the front row of the balcony is now reserved for bottle service. confused

I'm almost certain it won't be there, you can't get away with calling that a "small venue".

Sound at HOB is generally really good. If that is indeed the location I think folks will be happy. I saw the '04 aftershow with Wendy Melvoin there.

A trusted friend just told me that these shows are most likely at The House of Blues on Sunset for what it's worth.

All three? They're clearing out the venue after each one..? I've been to the HOB several times and if that's the case, it's going to be a nightmare re parking/waiting/etc. And with the short turnaround between shows, especially the second and third...either the sets are going to be short or no way they stick anywhere close to that schedule. But, makes sense for them to be all in one venue to cut down on travel time both for Prince and anyone trying to attend more than one.

eye thought the House of Blues was closed down?

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

hob has strict security and will not let cameras in. you need to go through metal detectors and have your purses thoroughly searched.
