U do if he has a BIG upside.

With the NBA Draft, it seems like ANY pick outside of the top 3 is a crapshoot. So teams at 4 have really difficult choices to make, and will get killed on the back end if the final choice causes them to miss out on player picked afterwards who happens to hit.

Most scouts are saying the Knicks made the right choice at 4. But the right choice might still be a bust.

What does that really mean though?

Look at the key players on the GS team that just won a title.

None of them were top 3 picks. Curry, Thompson, Green, Iggy, etc..................

See highlighted portion above. I'd also mention that 2 of San Antonio's Big 3 were late draftees as well.

Knicks are making a big splash in free agancy aren't they? Players aren't stupid. They see how dysfunctional this franchise is. They don't care about The Big Apple, hanging with stars or marketing their brand. They want to W-i-N. They won't win in NY or LA.

Lopez twins are both asscheeks...and the Knicks allegedly about to sign the less talented one...Afflalo is no real upgrade over Smith or Shumpert...so unless Porzingis and Grant both have great rookie seasons, the Knicks are screwed

I question if anyone really wants 2 play with Melo.

The same question applies 2 Kobe.

Anthony is a ball-stopper and Kobe is a pain to deal with.

Aldridge to the Spurs - he and Duncan will be nasty.

Knicks gave $50 mil to the wrong Lopez......oy vay........

I don't know why Aldridge had this dog and pony show going on when

the word was out before the season ended he was going to the Spurs.

No one really wants to play with either. As G-Cap said, Melo is a one-way player. Free agents and stars vote with their feet on Kobe. While he does not share all the blame for the breakup of the would-be dynasty, fact of the matter is that his role in the breakup with Shaq still lingers.

The Lakers haven't convinced an elite FA in his prime to sign on to play with Kobe. Pau, D12, and CP3* were landed via trades. And by all reports, his schtick in FA meetings/recruitment sends FAs running away. The only 2 men in the organization that could contain him -- Jerry West and Phil Jackson -- are long gone.

I'll give Kupcheck some credit though, he is NOT sitting still unlike my lame team. (Bulls)

Kupchak generally has not been the problem. He's been the face of the Front Office but I think things would be different if he had full control.

I think he has to re-tool but he won't get far until Kobe leaves and/or Jeannie makes changes at the top.

(As for the Bulls, FO, I don't think too many elite FAs are crazy about signing to play with Rose, and they seem fractured at the top. . .)

That son of the former laker owner is a joke.

He should be removed ASAP.

As 4 the Bulls, they only care about making money. They will pretend 2 make moves but they are simply going in circles. Paxson and Forman don't have the skill set required to build an actual title team.............this suits the ownership just fine. Keep in mind, this is the same ownership that chased away Jordan, Pippen, Rodman and Phil Jackson in the mist of winning 3 titles in a row. Based on that alone, I hope they NEVER win a title again until new ownership is in place.
