Actually, there's a Thai larp dish that I make that taste really really good.

It's a vegan (raw vegan even) twist on a Thai recipe.

You need

1) cup of walnuts

2) A handful of cashews

3) fresh mint leaves (about 10 leaves)

4) a stalk of lemon grass

5) Soy sauce (about a teaspoon or to taste)

6) Juice from 1 lime

7) A dash of cumin

8) Paprika (or any hot chili powder--to taste).

9) About half a teaspoon of sugar (or agave nectar)

10) A tiny dash of cold pressed olive oil.

11) Half of a red onion

Add all of your ingrediants together except onion (sliced), mint leaves, and cashews.

Blend quickly in a food processor---you want to make sure that you still have texture to the

mixture---some larger chunks of walnut, and some more finely blended. The more variation

in texture, the more interesting it is to the mouth (it's part of what makes meat so aluring to

people).

Add the onion and mint leaves in. And VERY quickly for one or two quick thrusts, blend, making

sure the leaves and the only pieces are still large--diced, not mushed.

Scope it out onto a bed of red or green lettuce (or red cabbage) and throw the cashews on top (or blend in with a spoon).

It's VERY flavorful, and addictive.

sounds yummy but what can i use instead of mint- not a fan .

You could substitute basil pretty easily. A different taste for sure, but it's in the same family and it would fit in with everything else.

Can we have the recipe...please! batting eyes

When I cook, I don't really use recipes, but heres how I do it:

2-3 Granny Smith Apples

Cinnamon

Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

Smokey BBQ Sauce ( I only use Sweet Baby Rays)

Apple Jelly

Apple Cider or Apple Juice

In a bowl, pour enough apple cider to cover however many chicken breasts you are cooking. Place the sliced apples on top of the chicken, and sprinkle cinnamon to your liking. I tend to be a little generous, as when you grill alot of the flavor will cook off.

Let marinade sit in the fridge for a couple hours, the longer the better. 4-6 is ideal.

I use a real nice gas grill for my cooking, however if you prefer charcoal, that would be fine.

Grill the chicken breasts roughly 15-20 mins a side on medium heat, depending on thickness of the breasts. They are done when you cut thru the fattest part, and the juices run clean.

When the chicken is almost done, use a small saucepan and heat BBQ sauce and Apple Jelly, roughly 2:1 ration, sauce to jelly on a low heat (dont want to burn off the sugars). Feel free to add a little cinnamon, to mesh the flavors. The sauce will start to thicken up.

I prefer to put the finished product over white rice, and pour the sauce over the top of all of it.

Sorry for the rambling, I created this recipe out of creativity and boredom. I've become an experimental grill master haha.. It is extremely delicious though.

Enjoy and let me know if you try it!

Thank you Jeremy! I cant wait to try it out! The BBQ sauce sounds heavenly! I make a recipe using pork chops by marinating them in Pineapple and apple juice , then making a mixture of lawry's, paprika, and oil and brushing it on as you broil them, but grilling them is good also.. Its simple but sooooo tasty! Yours just sounded so good to me!

That sounds super yummy!!!

My mother makes meatballs w/a BBQ sauce that’s made of grape jelly, I never thought about apple.

I could definitely make a similar sauce to go over my veggie chicken fillets. And maybe throw it over quinoa for extra protein.

See – this is what I love about cooking! One little idea is all you need.

The lemon grass in the salad provides such a powerful flavor and aroma, that the mint isn't really even necessary if you don't like mint.

You can leave it out.

You can even chop up pieces of apple and throw that in there---apple goes great with walnuts no matter what else you throw in.

John(art) is frickin' amazing in the kitchen............ hmph!

his arroz con pollo is like tied with my mom's.. foodnow

I make a pretty nice lasagne (ground turkey, and a veggie version)

but ppl have fought over my desserts, especially the chessecakes.. lol I love to bake from scratch (except for pies.. fillings, yes, but I hate making the dough so I buy those frozen)

made an ice cream cake for my nephew's 3rd b'day.. edible sugar photo I had made, whip cream icing, choc cake layers with probably vanilla ice cream

Strawberry Shortcake w/fresh whipped cream (hexagonal petal cake pans)

2 frozen tortes (both probably have a chocolate base, one with handmade chocolate covered strawberries & handmade chocolate leaves, other with gold Dragées & Roches), and a Spanish Almond cake (dense, sweet.. yummy!)

my old boss' 40th b'day cake.. he was not happy about turning 40 lol so I made a graveyard cake (a Whiskey-Cocoa cake from scratch and I believe the icing was a buttercream that I colored green for "grass")

Square cheesecake.. not sure what flavor; I usually get requests for plain, vanilla, Kahlua, brandy, cocoa, cocoa-Kahlua..
