TRON said: Okay, I really like these. We got some really cool shots down along the boardwalk. They had some amazing trees and plantlife. They're a little eerie, but really beautiful I think. Ian was in rare form. Once the picture was taken, if it wasn't ART!, it was instantly deleted.
Come closer and see...see into the trees... Did you get lost in the forest?

Thsoe trees are spectacular ~ them It's a strange feeling travelling this much. You want to go, go, go as much as you possibly can. But you also appreciate what you have at home more than ever. I'm eager to cram as much in and have the best possible time, but I'm eager to put it all back together once I get back.

We did, actually. It really wasn't that long of a stretch that we walked, but it felt endless. These are only a fraction of the pictures that we took, but they really capture what it was like there. You should see the trees in Hawaii. Totally alien.

So the drive from Sydney to Gold Coast (just inside Queensland) is quite a jog. At least 10 hours I'd say. We were so busted from walking everywhere, fighting the waves, attempting to surf and the non-stop drive on the way there, that we decided to break it up a bit on the drive home. After our surfing lesson, we cleaned up a bit, helped Lillian to the bus station, had a quick dinner and got on the road. We had a hotel room booked for Port MacQuarie, which is a beautiful and quaint ocean town a little more than midway back to Sydney. I wish we would've had a little more time there cuz the scenery was breathtaking - lava rock everywhere, flowering plants I've never seen before, amazing gravity defying trees, stretches of beach as far as the eye could see. It makes for a nice day trip and I'd definitely go again in the future. I took a few fun pictures on our drive back. Here's the best of the lot.
Ian with our favorite trees along the coastline of Port MacQuarie... Wombat Beach Resort. We have a thing for wombats. Wash N Set mom having a smoke break. Me driving on the other side of the road for the first time ever!! Well, legally anyway. Aussies love to name things twice. I can't think of all the doubles we saw along the way, but our favorite was 'Mooney Mooney'. And this one's for Nikki. It makes me think of you. Again, geeking out on the trees. There was a little stretch of what looked like birch trees, except they were really narrow and straight and dense and over 100 feet tall. I captured them clearly in the background, but it's a cool effect cuz there were these purplish flowering bushes in the foreground that are all blurry. A bit impressionistic, but very sweet. I love it.
