Rhondab

A Poem for Sammi and my other loc'd soul mates of the Org..

My hair is my strength
my power and might
seek not to kid
what you know not
but understand the blessing
of my loc

My beauty is profound
my dark skin addresses
the lack
of awareness
of my Godly stance
seek not to kid
what you know not
Understand the blessing
of my loc

I AM a Goddess
Divinely created
Beauty of the Soul
Melanin and nappy hair
blessings from above
seek not to kid
what you not
Understand the blessing
of my loc

Ignorance abounds
as you laugh secretly
Your mockery
confirms
That I AM
has made me perfect
so as you continue to seek to kid
My locs continue to grow
and manifest the power
of the Divine
Understand I AM
The blessing....and not just my locs.

I love your hair, but seriously your pics only ever have either your lips showing, or your nose, or if we're lucky an eye peaking out, but never your whole face! lol

then you're not paying attention (I've posted plenty pics with my entire face) and plus, this thread isn't about Rhondab showing her face.

Its about the negative comments that keep rising up regarding orgers with locs.

peace

As I don't have any dreads to show myself, I'll show some pics my bf shot:

Stymie

I don't have any locs but I had my hair braided for the last three months so I have enough hair now to start my locs. I was so tempted to get chemicals again but I am glad I didn't.

Awesome words, Ms. B. cool

I only remember orgers telling people like sammi who have them that they look beautiful. I didn't see those comments that say otherwise, it's a shame if something like that happens rose sad .

nonetheless.....

this is about the celebration of a journey.

Locs don't represent just a hairstyle but a journey. Its breaking down those notions that NAPPY hair is bad hair and that kinky hair is unattractive. God made my hair perfect..as is.
Our hair holds energy. To birth a new journey, some will cut their locs OR begin them.

It more than a style.

Very beautiful poem! A few years ago, I was set on getting dreads. I had my hair in twists. Went to London. It proceeded to rain everyday I was there. My hair got frizy. I decided to shave it off neutral

What does frizy mean? I tried to look it up, but didn't find it.
