Uh huh. Whatever the fuck that means. What if I said gay people should have sex with at least 100 people of the opposite sex and have extensive therapy before choosing to me gay because I know people who were confused. Have all the opinions you want. I don't give a shit

That's what I don't get about those procedures. I can understand cross dressing or even taking hormones, but surgery won't truly change your sex. It won't change your chromosomes or your ability to conceive a baby.

It seems like a drastic measure and is kind of phony IMHO.

I know people who've done it, and of course that's their choice and I will respect their decisions, but if I'm being honest I don't get it.

What would you know about someone chromosomes besides what you are assuming by looking at them? There are truly intersex people out there. There people with XXY and XYY. What the fuck does it matter what they're chromosomes are. What you see isn't necessarily what you think you're going to get. I guess every natural-born male and female can conceive a child too, right?

If you don't understand it, move on

Well, my transgender friends weren't offended when I said I didn't understand.

I don't need to understand. They do.

"Bibliography"? Is that some kind of slur for transgender people? Are you saying they should always finish last? neutral

Why are you hostile? lol I easily could have nourished my feelings, thoughts and beliefs to the point of having a sex change. Easily. I felt exclusively female in every single way except my genitals. From the time I have memory even into my 20s. I was very tortured by it. Who's to say I'm not transgendered and just came to terms with reality?

It's transgender and not trangendered. You can say what you want, but there is no such thing as "coming to terms with reality" when someone is transgender. The brain is wired incorrectly in the womb and there will never be enough realization or therapy. The reality is they are in the wrong body. There is a such thing a "vagina envy" which is totally different. What you're saying is just as dangerous as someone saying they used to be gay. What the fuck ever dude

Thank you for the correction. I hope the transgender community doesn't over-react to an innocent mistake. Now I know better lol

I am not advocating that someone who is transgender not be allowed to go through whatever process makes them the happiest. But people have had sexual reassignment surgery to discover they made a mistake. And no child should be indulged to this level no matter what they feel. They don't have the maturity or the experience to make fully informed decisions.

If given the chance to change my sex to female when I was younger, that I was able to make that decision, I probably would have because of the extreme degree with which I identifed as female. Having discovered my unique strength as a woman in a man's body (that is still how I feel), I have made peace with my biological gender and accept and explore the strengths that inherintly come from being a man. The fact that I don't have a biologically female body does not stop me from being a woman or perceiving myself that way. I feel very much that I am a woman regardless of the dick in my pants.

And how do you know some transgender people aren't suffering from OCD? People with extreme OCD have an inability to move forward in their lives without the burden of their obsessive nature. How do you know some transgender person doesn't suffer from that and not some gender identity crisis? I think a decision like this should not be available to kids. People change their childhood beliefs when they become adults. Someone should really enter adulthood first before making a choice that may be born of childhood impulsiveness.

I know two of them. One of them I was SHOCKED when I found out, because I never would have guessed. I still find it amazing. The other, I knew as a woman before she became a man and it took me a while to make the mental adjustment. But he is also extremely masculine and I can't believe that anyone would see him as a woman today. And I'm attracted to both of them the way I'm attracted all men wink, which I find fascinating. But I find really butch lesbians attractive too.

it's easier to pass after the transition from female to male, i've met several in my time who i didn't know til they told me. the effects of testrone on the body are extremely diffcult to reverse.

Right, but most of those people who feel that way still live as the opposite gender on the outside without ever having surgery and prefer to be referred to as the opoposite pronoun. If you're so female why aren't you doing that? Why aren't acting more like a female?

that's where this whole TG thing gets touchy. you have people that are truely transgender who going through puberty forces them to masculinze and harder in the future to become who they really are. and than you have people like me because when we are younger we are taught there is male and female and boys marry girls and because of this feel they should be girls because kids aren't taught about being gay. how do you sort out the real TG from those who just don't understand that it is ok to be gay? that's why i oppose hormone treatment until after the first stage of puberty.

So now you're resorting to calling people names. I didn't say anything about you not feeling whatever you felt. What you thought you were going through was not actually what it was, You said that, not me. You're not transgender, not in the official traditional sense. You're just two gay men

and we've never claimed to be transgender just expressed our opposition to how soon one should start the transition, because there are people like us who'd be in a world of hurt if they started to early.

you've attacked both of us, without reading what we stating and why. just like you did in the thread last week.

you'd don't read anything anyone writes just skim it and jump to conclusions.

i'm sorry dear, when it comes to the way i felt as child i do know what i'm talking about. just because you don't agree with my view on prepubescent hormone therapy doesn't mean i'm against the transgender community. once again you do not understand life as an out gay man or a gay man. i've never claimed to speak on behalf of my transfriends just shared my experiences.
