Nobody is being negative towards Janet. Everyone here has been rooting for her since Unbreakable dropped and her tour. WE ALL want her to succeed. We are frustrated with the cancellations because she has not given any explanations. There is now a new rumor that some of the US dates have been canceled. As consumers and ticket buyers, consumers have a right to be upset or express frustration if they took off work, had to book hotels etc and she just suddenly cancels without any explanation. I have tickets to see her in the US and if she does not follow through I am going to be pissed and inconvience. So I will not stop expressing my concerns on the matter and neither should anyone else.

Thanks for giving me other things to also consider. For some strange reasons she seemed to be more consistent during the 90's. I don't recall there be that many cancellations during the Janet and VR tours (I could be wrong though) but your right. There have repeatly been excessive cancellations since 2001. I think she did better during her up close and personal tour because she mostly played small venues and theaters and there weren't any costume changes. She did over 80 shows. She probably should stick to smaller venues and stripped down shows OR do a residency but I believe her ego would never allow her to do a residency.
She was younger in the 90s to be fair. She was also the media darling, so that probably helped her confidence.
Why not? Michael was about to do one. That was in the 02 arena, but still.
[Edited 3/13/16 20:08pm]
I don't see anything wrong with residencies and I actually think they are great gigs especially for veteran acts.
MJ had more humility and graciousness than Janet imo. Janet seems to have some "pride issues" She keeps booking these arena shows in Europe, thinking she can sell them out despite past cancellations. Whats wrong with doing smaller venues? She did them on her last tour, she could have easily did them on this one! At least in 2009, MJ had enough sense to test the waters in city that always welcomed him instead of starting in the USA. With Janet, she doesnt seem to learn from her mistakes. During Rock Wit U (she had to cancel all those arena dates in Europe and even some in USA) so I have not a clue why she would continue to book more arena shows in Europe before testing the waters at a smaller venue. I don't know if its her ego or poor management.

She did smaller venues on this tour too. During the first leg at least. Maybe she's heard the comments about her not being big in europe, that she was a local act, etc and wants to prove people wrong? The issue is she's proving people right!
I also think that if Michael was alive she would've never downsized but that's another thing all together. lol |

Who cares where I'm from? I saw 3 shows in your country. Janet's shows are the same, every night. The only change one might get, is that she doesn't play the full show. So in 2001 she did a hommage to her brother, before he died? Right. I'll stop that now. You clearly need to go to bed or haven't had enough sleep last night.
WOULD ANOTHER JANET JACKSON FAN WHO ATTENDED THE ALL FOR YOU TOUR TELL THIS GUY THAT JANET JACKSON PAID HOMAGE TO HER BROTHER MICHAEL HALFWAY DURING THE SHOW COULD SOMEBODY TELL THIS GUY THIS.....HOW JANET DID A INTERLUDE HALFWAY, PLAYING MJ MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND, AND HOW SHE CAME ON STAGE W/A FEDORA AND STARTED TALKING ABOUT HER BROTHER MICHAEL, PAYING HOMAGE TO HIM COULD ONE JANET JACKSON FAN TELL THIS GUY THIS man, I ain't gotta go to bed for nobody.....I can't wait til another fan of Janet who went to that show give you some back up facts I saw Janet 3 x during All For You and not only did she not pay tribute to MJ, she also did not perform for more than 2 hours. In fact, on two of the dates I saw her perform, she performed a truncated show, skipping Black Cat and If. I'm the first mammal to wear pants. |

I don't remember any European dates scheduled for the RWY tour. Were there?
I remember being particularly pissed that the AFY European leg was cancelled due to 9/11. A lot of other major acts postponed their tours and rescheduled during the no fly dates and until everything had calmed down, but Janet was the only one that fully cancelled. Then she flew to Japan anyway and extended those dates despite the excuse of saying she was afraid to fly for the sake of her crew. |

that definitely did not happen in my town
she definitely performed Black Cat and If........a full balances of songs from all her albums she performd in my town
and towards the middle of the show, there was a segment where the light grew dim, I'm sitting up in the front section close to the side of the stage, and then a single spotlight was directed towards the microphone and then MJ instrumental music started playing in the background, and then Janet appeared and gave a brief tribute to her brother speaking about him......it was a very nice moment and the crowd gave her a great applause for that
performers often switch up their shows in between tours....happens all the time...they add a song here, remove a song there,

No. There weren't. After they discovered that her strong market of Japan has gotten weak, they gave up announcing shows.

Yeah. That pissed me off majorly too and nearly ended me being a fan of her. Only in 2004, when she recognized me at Michael's arraingment she started to win me back. Yeah, I know I'm easy. |

LOL yes. You better not mess with Janet fans. Even if you are Janet yourself. LOL that sounds bad. Well, there are also plenty of fans, who think her shit don't stink and call us upset ones no real fans or fairweather fans. Whatever. If we wouldn't care and would not be fans, we would not be upset and disappointed.

Did everybody get their refund? I'm still waiting for mine... But it's going to a good home - STEVIE WONDER - 10th July, Hyde Park London.. Also as an added bonus he is gonna sing live
Also.... Can Janet not come up with new ideas that haven't already been used by her amazing late brother... "Rock Wit Chu" tour and "Unbreakable" tour.. Every time I read the word Unbreakble I start singing "you can't believe it, you can't conceive it" in my head..
I am peace with not ever getting to see Janet live now, whatever, poor mans MJ.. Should have booked smaller venues. [Edited 3/15/16 20:54pm]"Still Crazy 4 Coco Rock" |

Really? Classic. I think there is a very small camp called Janet is better than MJ and you're the only one in it
Just found out that the booking fees we paid for these gigs are non refundable so that's hundreds of thousands of dollars her fans have paid for these concerts.. Then to expect fans to pay again for her "rescheduled" tour is disgusting... [Edited 3/15/16 21:25pm]"Still Crazy 4 Coco Rock" |

I feel so sorry for Janet. Wendy Williams was trashing her on her show, saying that it is not 1993 anymore thats why her ticket sells were low. Wendy is such a BISH. But I honestly have to say some of this is Janet's own fault. She is turning into this tragic figure and I know a lot of people that really want her to win and be back on top but she keeps making these poor career choices. I thought it was ironic how Wendy's guest said he missed Janet, although she is currently n tour. It just goes to show that Janet needs to make herself more accessible and visible.

It is. At this point, I think the damage is done. I'm not sure how much promotion would help her cross over into the digital era. It's a little too late. (I'd love to be proven wrong!)
Social media is stronger than ever before and this generation already views her as a flop compared to her peers (Madge, Mariah, Whitney, etc). Negative press like this (low ticket sales, album chart drops) stick with people. |
