Its not the interviewers responsibility to care bout the person he/she is interviewing. Its an interview not some hug fest. You think Barbara Walters gives a fuck bout the majority of celebs she interviews?

Her mother just PASSED. confused She doesnt have to care but she should be be respectful, courteous, etc which Oprah never is...

Of course not ALL interviews should be centered based around that but Bobbi even though is a young lady still should have some compassion because of that. The interview is going to be based around her mother and all that went into the funeral/final times with her mom more than likely and that subject should be treated delicately. Nobody deserves to be disrespected or asked questions thats crosses boundaries when their mother just passed especially when the passing was a MONTH ago. Interviewer, regular person, etc it doesnt matter who is asking the questions...

Barabara Walters wasn't at the private funeral for Whitney, but Oprah was. The line has been blurred, so she should give a fuck.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. I believe Oprah is definitely benefiting in this deal. The OWN network is struggling and this will boost ratings tremendously. I'm just saying that Oprah is not the only person driving this interview. Don't think for a moment that Bobbi Kristina did not discuss the possibility of this interview with her family, including Whitney's mother. Out of those conversations/negotiations, this interview emerged. And that's Oprah's fault???

Bobbi Kris is young, & already struggling with some issues. Has it even been a month since the death of her mother? The girl is still grieving. Oprah didn't even have a close relationship with her own mother. Maybe things like this are hard for her to understand.

Again, I am 99.9% sure that BK did not make that decision solely. If nothing else, she called someone in her family (Pat, Gary, or Cissy most likely) and said, "Oprah wants to interview me." And they said, "Get it girl!"

I am more inclined to believe that Oprah's camp contacted Pat and Pat negotiated the interview. Again, however any feels about Oprah is what it is. But no one can say that Oprah is totally to blame for the fact she will be sitting across from Bobbi this week.

Well I know someone who worked for her for several years and had everything nice to say. Also, I worked for her on a one-time project. It was a great experience. Everyone has different experiences.

Just reading this. True, I see your point.

I didn't see anything wrong with the interview.

confused No what it seems like is half the people in this thread are naive... this has NOTHING to do with Michael. Ofah has done countless interviews with many people Janet, Whitney, Tom, Lisa, Jordan and etc it was nothing but sensationalize drama and her spinning the interview questions to her own agenda.

Okra would die if someone asked her the same questions that she asks other people. Wait until somebody asks her if she's gay, & see her response.

Wow So do I, isnt it amazing how many people on the internet knows so many famous people?? wink

Cool, you still work for her? My friend quit about a couple of months ago because she didn't want to move to L.A. and the Chicago studio had become a shell of its former self. My one-time project was back in 1996. I don't know, I'm never amazed at who knows who. Famous people had to come from somewhere where other people exist.

How? Where's this extra money coming from? All she's gonna get is her standard check. No more, no less.

She's trying to keep that boring network on the air. She was recently Tweeting during the Oscars asking people to tune into to her network, especially if they had a Neilson box. That's against the rules. Obviously Oprah is thirsty for viewers.

Ok, I thought you were talking about monetary profit. Well, sure, I can agree Oprah wants more viewers, since staring a cable channel instead of a broadcast one was a mistake if she wanted to maintain her audience. I just don't think she's trying to be deceptive by exploiting Bobbi however. Oprah may be hardcore with business, but she clearly loved Whitney Houston, and I just don't think she would betray the Houston family like that. Oprah's not that cold (and really isn't cold at all in my opinion since she cries so easily).

I sincerely hope that doesn't happen. Bobbi Kris was hospitalized twice after Whitney died. She's going through a lot.

Wait, didn't Barbara Walters do that a few years ago? And I think Walters asked that exact question, and Oprah said "no." It was a serious interview on 20/20 before Oprah's show ended, if I'm not mistaken.

Honestly, crying easily could just be acting. But, I do stick to my thought that she is one of the more compassionate interviewers out there. She goes in when she wants to, but she respects the person far more than I see of others. But I still say, everyone who has ever been interviewed by Oprah (especially adults) had every opportunity to decline the interview. And if she asked a question that was not preapproved, they had every right not to answer and put it right back in her lap. Again, I just see a whole lot of willing participants.

That's right. I do remember that interview. Oprah said "no" then made comment about how people are not used to seeing women be so close, which is why they want to make her relationship with Gayle out to be a romantic one. I mean, yes Oprah knows how it feels, but she's a journalist. Please, the President of the U.S. gets all kinds of sideways questions from journalists. Other celebrities are exempt?

Just some haters! And if anyone on here was given the opportunity to promote ANYTHING on Oprah's shows, you would jump at it. biggrin

I never said Oprah was perfect. I said she was doing her job. And quite well, I will add. And let's not forget that those she interviews are willing participants. Believe me, no one is waking up with a bloody microphone in their bed.

I will concede that this is not the case with MJ's kids though. They were victims of their guardians. And I do agree that that particular interview was a bit weird. But grown folks, please! They are more than happy to be interviewed by Oprah.

The devil is a liar... I am no sell out and I rather go to someone who is sincerely interested in interviewing me not to cash in on my mothers passing... nope Whitney passed away LAST month for crying out loud... damn Ofah neutral

I'm no devil and I'm no liar. It is admirable that you would not sell out just for the exposure Oprah's name brings. However, most people do, as is evidenced by her catalogue of interviews. Believe me, Pat, Gary and Cissy are well aware that Oprah is interviewing Bobbi K., and they are all cool with it. In fact, I would venture to say that Pat closed the deal.

Actually O addressed that on her show and basically said that if she was a lesbian why WOULD she hide it stating that she has enough money, success and enough support that she wouldn't give a damn.

Thats a figure of speech hun... that was not directed towards you...

And no I wouldnt...

I would never sit down with Oprah but then again if I was a celebrity O would be interested in me because I wouldnt give her what she wanted and would just be to real for her.

I agree that it has to do with both sides but I just know how O is. She is going to milk that interview for all its worth.

Could be. hmmm However, since I don't think she ever wants to purposely mess up her thick eyeliner and false eyelash adhesive, I'm gonna continue to believe her tears are real. lol

To their credit, at least the Houston camp is doing this interview with someone who did seem to like Whitney. In comparison, outside of Ellen, MJ's kids are always handed over to those that hated him.

Then don't blame the interviewer, blame the family members that want to whore out the closest kin to the dead. Yeah I'm side eyeing you Katherine.

Listening to a local Atlanta radio station this morning and it was reported that Oprah flew into town (Alpharetta, GA more specifically) for the interview this past Friday, March 2 . So it's already in the can.

Oh yeah...being that the interview took place on the 2nd, it was exactly 20 days after Whitney's passing. sad

I am not naive. Does Oprah ask hard questions? Yes. Otherwise she would not be worth her title as a journalist. What do you all want her to do? Pat the people on the head and assure them they don't have to answer anything? I've been watching her from the beginning, and I definitely think that she draws out the humanity in those she interviews.

I totally agree. I would rather see Oprah interview anyone than most other interviewers. I believe (and I'm no where near naive) that Oprah has a good heart and does what she does for the love of it. Sure, there was a time when it was done for money, but do you really think she gives a rats ass about money these days? She's a smart lady and I'm sure she has invested her money well and will have plenty of it until her dying day. BK is getting paid and I'm sure that's why she wants to do it and to get some things off her chest.

As far as Wendy Williams goes, she's a big mouth ugly bitch, who just wishes she had one ounce of Oprah's dignity and class.
