Love it, but I've always preferred the His & Hers Mix with Aaliyah. It's all kinds of inappropriate, but it still sounds good. shrug

He did mimic somebody in that song though lol his name is Aaron Hall.

12 Play is one of my fave 90s albums.

Sounds nothing like Aaron Hall...

R. Kelly and Aaron Hall both mimicked Charlie Wilson in their early years. But at least, R. Kelly was able to evolve as a singer and artist unlike Mr. Hall.

Not many cause I'm sure 50% of the people who played 12 Play while making love came by the time Bump N' Grind ended

I think it is one of his best, such as in the top 10% of all of the songs he ever recrorded.

As an aside I watched a recent broadcast of an R Kelly concert performance video of on Centric

and it exceeded, to my mild shock, my mildly optimistic expectactions for an R Kelly concert

at the recent stages of his career. Both the music quality of his voice and the band and his improvised interactions with the concertgoers were quite good.

It is interesting that he is not used as big event attraction by the City of Chicago,

during the summer and other key events, on a consistent basis.

For about 10 years or so he was the Michael Jordan of Chicago R&B and pop music.

On the other hand, maybe it is good because the commercial interests/controllers

of such events are the type to want him to perform his more

right wingy gospel music, which in my opinion generally defeats the

main mac daddy purposes and benefits of his music.

I think the "In the Closet" song and LP began the step fall from

his performance peaks of the Chocoalate Factory, the 2003 greatest hits compilation,

his appearance on that 2003 Gigolo tune, and his appearance on the 2004 LL Cool J album.

He has had a solid tune here and there since then but the consistency

is significantly below where he was in the 90s and the early 2000s.

What? i think his gospel roots are what makes hima great singer. i would rather hear him sing ''blah'' gospel. Then that club shit he started doing in the 00's mad

But i digress, some people may like the other side more.
