Beyonce or Alicia Keys?

Who do you guys think has more talent, Beyonce or Alicia Keys? I feel that Beyonce can definitly sing. Some do not like her 1st alto sound, but she manipulates and controls her voice very well, and she knows her notes. The only thing about Beyonce is that in my opinion she has released a bunch of crap over the last few years, and I feel that she is only still in the game based on her sex appeal. Beyonce is a complete package of voice, beauty (sexuality), and dance.

Alicia Keys on the other hand just reminds me of sheer classic talent. Like a Patrice Rushen. She's a real musician and I appreciate that, I have a particular fondness for pianists. I think her songwriting ability will continue to get stronger as she matures and experiences life more. I think that there are no gimmicks, "sex sells tricks" or anything of the sort when it comes to Alicia, just raw talent. When Alicia first came on the scenes "they" kinda had her looking like a cyborg of sorts with one side of her head being braided and the otherside being straight. She was never really "polished" in terms of interviewing skills and conversational diction. She mentioned that she did not want her "looks" to interfere with the appreciation of her talent.

I love material by both women. When Beyonce's booty shaking and half nakedness nursery rhyme song sound gets on my nerves, I turn to Alicia Keys. When I need a little more eye candy, I go back to Beyonce. One small thing that I observed about Alicia is that vocally she is not always on key and when it comes to songs where there is an impromptu performance. Sometimes she has to like "find her way" ie. Clive Davis's appreciation gig. I think it was halfway through the song that they were all singing before Alicia actually sang in the right key and found her pitch. Besides a bit of raspiness, most other times she's pretty polished.
Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I like both too, but I listen to Beyonce way more when in the first half of the decade I listened to Alicia Keys more. I prefer Beyonce but also appreciate alicia's talent

I also love their collaboration.

They are such polar opposites...

Alicia is not a technical singer, but Fallin' trumps every single song Beyonce has done. Alicia's work has meaning and substance and she actually writes her songs, not claims to.

Beyonce is the ultimate entertainer! Beyonce's best competition would have been Aaliyah. Or even Kelly, if Kelly would stop acting like a sidekick. Beyonce's best talent is her sheer willpower to succeed. Her talent is potent but there are better singers, dancers, and definitely actresses! Her body of work is unvaried and lacks true substance, but what she does, she does well.

I was listening to brandy and monica the other day and forgot just how amazing they were vocally and how much they shit on these two with their singing. I remember not being impressed with alicia keys in the first year she was out.

the self whoring Beyonce who acts like a disgusting narcissistic whore in every single video she does , trying to act and look seductive for the sole purpose of selling her overcommercialized oversung crap 'music'
or the subtle stunning hotness of Alicia that stays true to herself ,
music and personality wise

couldn't be any easier for me

I don't like either very much, but I usually buy Alicia's albums lol I guess I think she has the potential to become a good artist. I can see why people like Beyonce, she can sing and dance, but to me she's kinda artistically vacuous, I don't feel any of her performances and haven't really seen any growth in her music, it's just all the same ish re-packaged for each album. I think Alicia has her gimmicks the same way as Beyonce does though; her marketing is aimed at presenting her as a some prestigious credible artist which she has yet to deliver lol

I actually think Beyonce is far worse, but I wouldn't ever pay money to see either one or purchase an album. In fact, I might spend $10 every year if it guaranteed that I wouldn't hear Beyonce.

I like Beyonce better as a vocalist and performer, but Alicia is a much better songwriter and her music is a hell of a lot better than Beyonce's.

I'll have to go with Alicia
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

This.

None of their music speaks to me...Alicia's used to, but now it seems like she's trying too hard to be this prestigious, credible artist as AshK mentioned.
Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

Remember Rick James' quote about Alicia Keys? lol

Rick James Not Much Of An Alicia Keys Fan
Karu F. Daniels of EURweb.com chatted with R&B legend Rick James. Amongst his headline grabbing comments were those on Alicia Keys. “She calls her album, ‘Songs In A Minor,’ and all of the songs are in E and D,” he explained. “I don’t think she knows her grammatic skill, personally. I think she’s ‘The Gong Show.’ When she did the Donny Hathaway song in front of millions of people and fu**ed it up, that just goes to show you right there what’s going on…What about Rachelle Ferrell, or Lalah Hathaway? What about all these serious bitches that can really sing? Alicia Keys? Because Clive Davis eats the best See’s Candies and gives the best whatever, and wants to show Whitney [Houston] that she ain’t sh**, yeah, he’s going to put his effort in Alicia Keys.”

i hate it when vet musicians do this to the harmless, younger ones though, especially that it seems that Rick's main issue is with Clive here.

i truly commend the girl for carrying on after that quote lol

lol Vet musicians needs to splash some reality into the faces of harmless younger ones with egos of the size of elephant balls though.

eek Have you heard the woman talk when she describes her music? Its SO great when you hear her tell it, I mean you'd think Duke Ellington would wake up from the dead and tip his hat,,,,,thing is, he'd ONLY end up going back where he came from because her fuckin' music is coma friendly.

The minute I heard Dairy I said out loud "Well wait now, this ain't what you said couple of months ago in MTV" hmm I stopped believing the bitch, and true to form, everytime she describes one of her upcoming albums like it was some kind of a once-in-a-lifetime orgasm experience, it ends up just another snoozefest like I expected it to be hrmph FUCKIN' LIAR rolleyes lol
