falloff That's why I haven't responded to this poor individual. Kid is one step away from breaking into Beyonce's house and getting caught traipsing around in her lace front wig, leotard, and gold robo-glove. Two words, rat: Seek Help.

Oh, and in regards to your statement:

LMAO @ Beyoncé & "camel-toe queen". You dickless niggrums have NEVER seen her pussy or the outline of it and you probably never will. This reminds me of some commenter on a blog who said they could see Bey's vulva in Single Ladies. I was like "well let's stop ALL these little white girls in ballet classes from wearing leotards, doing splits and plies and shit, lest they get on stage and we see some vulvas." lol

This pic was posted on the Org months ago:

Um... hello, Beyonce's coochie...

faint

Dang! I wonder if she felt embarrassed when she saw this photo. Do celebrities who "push the envelope" with dress or act feel any embarrassement when camel toe pictures come out. Or do they shrug their shoulders and "keep it moving". Like Prince... he has had several camel toe pictures caught. I just wonder do they even care?

okay... both pictures look real. I guess you really can't tell on the internet anymore.

If the picture is fake, that is just so wrong on so many levels... to the woman and her husband, and her parents. Even if she does sell sex image to sell records it doesn't give someone the right to sell an image of her sex.

Ummm. No, you're wrong. I give Jill the victory but it is NOT a slaughter. I don't understand how people can go in on Bey's vocals with performances like this: http://www.youtube.com/wa...y0adn2v48Y

and this: http://www.youtube.com/wa...o5yRu4LxvM

and this:http://www.youtube.com/wa...EEYc2QEioo THIS ONE 3 songs WITHOUT A MIC. Come on now, give the woman more cred than that.

Video 2 I find her voice irritating. Video 1 is surprising... (and I mean I was surprised!) good. I think she sounds much better in a lower register.

Video 3 shows me that Beyonce has better voice than J... err, umm. Better than S ... umm never mind. stirthepot

I will hold my peace next time there is a debate whether Beyonce can sing... because these videos has convince me that she is better than I thought. But I still don't believe that Beyonce can "blow" as one man at work insists anytime the subject comes up. lol

There is absolutely no doubt....Beyonce can sing. However my point was that she has been soooooo commercialized and overly hyped up because of her beauty, that I think people neglect to think about whether they would be comparing her to Jesus (Beyus aka Beyonce our lord and savior) if she was a not so attractive fat girl singing the same songs in the same pitch. Although she can sing, I personally do not like her pitch / timbre at all. Perhaps if she smokes some cigarettes and turns about 45 - 50 years of age, she will have a dayumed good sound. LOL. And like someone else said, her voice tends to become thin with really high notes. I say that she manages this by transitioning to a "yodel", check out that last song in Video 3 "Halo". Yodel..odel..lay...he...whooo!

I'm not sure that anyone has actually typed here that "Beyonce can't sing". I think folks expressed thoughts on the quality of that voice that the world Raves about.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I agree with you on the fat chick would not get half the attention... but we all know that from the jump.

and I have actually said that Beyonce can't sing before because all the songs I heard her singing was more talking or chant than really singing... or she is covering someone else's song like Etta James and really sound... you said it... thin.

and I really don't like the sound of her voice at all. Not clear like old Whitney, no amazing range like Mariah, no strong (feel it in my chest) like Jill, not pretty like Marsha (from Floetry). Her lyrics don't move me like Jill, Ledisi, or Eryka. There really isn't much left. I don't give a damn how good she looks... doesn't mean a thing to me when I am looking for a download to LISTEN to.

but I am beginning to think it is her brand that has cheapened her quality of voice. She is sort of like a Christina Aguilerra. Singing cheap hip hop/pop songs that are light weight and monotonous meledy but trying to show just how much of a vocalist she is so they over sing the song that should be light and easy with all this forced emotive style of singing. And Beyonce's voice just can't handle all the forced singing at the higher range that seems to be the norm in popular music. Why can't popular singers sing in alto? I think that is why I liked Keys, she sing in alto... although latest album she is also singing in an unnatural register and it really doesn't work. to reach to nail a high note is one thing, to sing in that higher pitch until you voice sounds nasally or voice gets thin... well that is irritating. Beyonce starts to warble like a bird when she gets too high. It sounds irritating.

She sounds much better in lower range.

Alicia. "Diary", "If I Ain't Got You", and "You Don't Know My Name" are great songs. Beyonce has fun songs, she has a wonderful voice, and is a good entertainer, but she's nothing more than a blow-up doll for me.

Who do you guys think has more talent, Beyonce or Alicia Keys? I feel that Beyonce can definitly sing. Some do not like her 1st alto sound, but she manipulates and controls her voice very well, and she knows her notes. The only thing about Beyonce is that in my opinion she has released a bunch of crap over the last few years, and I feel that she is only still in the game based on her sex appeal. Beyonce is a complete package of voice, beauty (sexuality), and dance. Alicia Keys on the other hand just reminds me of sheer classic talent. Like a Patrice Rushen. She's a real musician and I appreciate that, I have a particular fondness for pianists. I think her songwriting ability will continue to get stronger as she matures and experiences life more. I think that there are no gimmicks, "sex sells tricks" or anything of the sort when it comes to Alicia, just raw talent. When Alicia first came on the scenes "they" kinda had her looking like a cyborg of sorts with one side of her head being braided and the otherside being straight. She was never really "polished" in terms of interviewing skills and conversational diction. She mentioned that she did not want her "looks" to interfere with the appreciation of her talent. I love material by both women. When Beyonce's booty shaking and half nakedness nursery rhyme song sound gets on my nerves, I turn to Alicia Keys. When I need a little more eye candy, I go back to Beyonce. One small thing that I observed about Alicia is that vocally she is not always on key and when it comes to songs where there is an impromptu performance. Sometimes she has to like "find her way" ie. Clive Davis's appreciation gig. I think it was halfway through the song that they were all singing before Alicia actually sang in the right key and found her pitch. Besides a bit of raspiness, most other times she's pretty polished.

alica i love <3

but........

my cousin beyonce is the BEST!

Wow, I agree with like everything you said there. I think Beyonce sounded pretty good with Destiny's Child, but it's liek the moment she dropped her own album, she started singing in this really annoying high ass pitch. I must admit, I loved that song "Deja Vu". However If I woulda known that she would almost exclusively fall back on that high azz "nails on a chalkboard" pitch, I would have wrote her a letter or something. LOL

I'm starting to feel a little guilty. I think I've been going a little too hard on Beyonce. I started another Thread comparing Beyonce to Jill Scott. I have some clips of both of them singing the same song. The Mods moved the thread to the "Associated Artists" section. I actually admire
Beyonce a lot but I feel violated in that I'm being over exposed to her work, and there is real serious talent out there that can't even have a seat at the table. Thats jacked up.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

All that shit is wrong. Just wrong. Lemme TRY to address this.

Beyoncé's low notes don't fry. "Vocal fry" is the term for what you are referring to and she does not do that. EVER. Not even when she is SICK. Case in point, click here. And before you go yapping like you did something, that is VIBRATO you hear on that B2 which is a good thing.

Her voice does not go "scratchy" on high notes unless she does it on purpose. You heard "Scared of Lonely"? Studio and live? FAIL. And Beyoncé does not do whistle notes (because she is not stupid like Mariah), so you REALLY fail.

If you don't know what the "off key statement" was about, then you might want to return to kindergarten and learn to read again. It was six rather simple words. neutral

"That yodeling thing" Oh you mean melisma, better known as RUNS? ROFL @ her not being able to do them when they've been her signature since DC4.

She is the greatest, I really don't have to compare her to anybody. And I didn't say "in popular music today" I said PERIOD.

she's not doing it like other singers who still keep their voice when doing it

If Beyoncé blew up a school of preschoolers, you'd probably be in it, so I'd play "Get Me Bodied" and we could all celebrate good times.

WHERE is the wardrobe malfunction when the REAL picture is in front of you? (Not to mention do you REALLY think she isn't wearing a body stocking under that hideous golden diaper? As I said... you're stupid.)

"If you can sing, why do this garbage?" Cause she wants to, Jimbo. Makes her and the people who actually matter happy. lol You gonna do ANYTHING about it other than bitch? You're not worthy of answering, so I'll do it for you: "No I won't because I can't do SHIT! biggrin"

If I said something about Lil' HIM, what would you do about it? "Nothing, Sir Ratchetchan! *salutes as I spit on you*" lol

You HAVEN'T seen ANY of Beyoncé's vagina, and you never will, AS I SAID.

I don't give a fuck about all that bullshit you typed cause you MAD that I know more than you do. Unless you're gonna rise your ineffectual ass up and DEW SUM BOUT IH HO, you haven't said anything. lol

"I've listened to all of her solo albums and her first album is still the best album she has ever released as a solo artist IMO. " Oh! Yes. I know your type. Well, Kizzy, it's too bad Beyoncé isn't gonna sing any more spirituals for you. You can if you went to the concert and saw that ridiculous outfit up close and saw the concert in the THEATER & bought the DVD and saw it a million more times. Typo's become a "big discussion" (yeah cause that was the highlight of my post) when the person who makes them is stupid. lol Either way, you don't know what you're talking about LIKE I SAID.

She doesn't yodel. neutral Clearly you don't know what yodeling IS.

Actually vibrato is a GREAT thing when it happens naturally. That is what happens when a singer is properly singing and holding a note instead of screaming, straining, or forcing it. That is why some singers ...P vibrato. It doesn't turn the voice off and on, that doesn't even make SENSE (that would be "staccato"), but then again, neither does the rest of your post. lol

Being "scratchy" (actually the better term is "raspy") is not equivalent to not holding a note. If that's the case, singers like Jazmine Sullivan can't sing at ALL. Either way, yes she does that shit on purpose (and put the WTF face on every stan), she's done it like TWICE in the STUDIO, and then did it live with no sign of raspiness.

Mariah is stupid because those whistle notes of hers, which are the weakest I have heard from any whistle resigter singer ANYWAY, are what helped to destroy her voice, together with her alcoholism, vocal nodules (worsened by WHISTLING), and improper vocal technique period.

She is the best technical singer to ever goddamn live. Who gawna check ME BEW? *adjusts sunglasses*

I didn't say opera singers are the BEST. I laugh at them all the time for using that freaking GOSPEL JAW like Whitney did. *CACKLE* However, opera singers are known for their head voices which is why I compared Beyoncé's HEAD voice to that of opera singers. You're another one who can't comprehend English. She was operatically trained so it doesn't really matter ANYWAY.

where did i say the typo shit was the highlight of the post? i just said you made a big thing of it

i do know what yodeling is..because i've heard it

and when she's doing her attempt at vibrato as i said her voice gets wobbly and sounds like it's turning off and on beause she can't hold it flat

she doesn't do raspy either, it's scratchy. raspiness still sounds strong, it goes too quiet when she's doing it

so you're calling mariah stupid for the note she did because she 'doesn't have the voice for it'

well if beyonce has such a range you rage about why would it be stupid of beyonce to do it..she wouldn't struggle would she? not that i'm stressing anybody to do that note, there is only so long I can listen to that..maybe 2 or 3 seconds before it starts sounding annoying

she obviously isn't the best technical singer..maybe you just haven't got such an open music catalogue so you haven't heard as much

now you're laughing at opera singers but then say she was trained 'operatically'

..obviously you're not saying her voice is funny by following THAT sentence with THAT sentence

juxtaposition anyone?

at first i wouldn't take the avatar seriously, untill you started with that aggressive bullshit in your arguments

if someone has an avatar of jesus and posts post after post trying to aggressively argue about him i'd call that person a freak too

Ain't no ILLOGICAL shit in any of this orange font. You don't even know what that means. Read a book.

And LOL @ you and anyone else who takes that damn avatar so super-seriously. GOD y'all are dumb.

where did i say the typo shit was the highlight of the post? i just said you made a big thing of it

i do know what yodeling is..because i've heard it

and when she's doing her attempt at vibrato as i said her voice gets wobbly and sounds like it's turning off and on beause she can't hold it flat

she doesn't do raspy either, it's scratchy. raspiness still sounds strong, it goes too quiet when she's doing it

so you're calling mariah stupid for the note she did because she 'doesn't have the voice for it'

well if beyonce has such a range you rage about why would it be stupid of beyonce to do it..she wouldn't struggle would she? not that i'm stressing anybody to do that note, there is only so long I can listen to that..maybe 2 or 3 seconds before it starts sounding annoying

she obviously isn't the best technical singer..maybe you just haven't got such an open music catalogue so you haven't heard as much

now you're laughing at opera singers but then say she was trained 'operatically'

..obviously you're not saying her voice is funny by following THAT sentence with THAT sentence

juxtaposition anyone?

at first i wouldn't take the avatar seriously, untill you started with that aggressive bullshit in your arguments

if someone has an avatar of jesus and posts post after post trying to aggressively argue about him i'd call that person a freak too

It was sarcasm. Shut up.

No you don't or otherwise you'd know that Beyoncé doesn't yodel and HOW and WHY she doesn't yodel.

WRONG. Straight tone singing is bad, AS I SAID and as the link I gave you said. It sounds bad, and it's vocally unhealthy. Who the fuck taught you about vocals? Christina Aguilera?

Once again you don't know what you're talking about. I'm not even going to address that mess. Moving on...

It's STUPID to whistle when you can't even do it right. She can barely whistle in any vowel besides "e" and THAT sounds a breathy mess. Beyoncé did E6 in head voice. That > whistling.

She is the best technical singer. It ain't Mariah, Lord Jesus. It CERTAINLY ain't Whitney, as much as I love her. Celine ain't quite it either. Nor is Aretha with some of them 5th octave HOWLS. And I wish somebody would say Screamtina, who couldn't even belt a D5 today. lol Closest I can think of is Rachelle Ferrell and the more I listen to her tone, the less respect I have for it. You got anybody else?

"obviously you're not saying her voice is funny" what. are. you. talking. ABOUT?

Anyway, opera TRAINING is the highest TRAINING you can get. Those voices are trained to LAST, and LAST, and LAST. But also, Kelly Rowland got the same training Beyoncé did, and she sucks, so it obviously doesn't come down to training.

ILLITERACY! NO!

iSnatch, iRead, iDrag. For Beysus and in general. Simple.

if your watching a worlds strongest man contest one man may be able to pick up the back of a car with trembling legs, whilst another man could pick it up pretty easily witout any shaking, simply co's he has stronger leg muscles

that's what i'm talking about!

her low notes didn't do that 'grudge girl/burp' thing she just hit them point blank!

and her high voice didn't do the scratchy 'average person trying to do the 'lovin' you' high note' sound

just a smooth ultra falsetto

nice one!

Ok I just gotta say this one thing to the folks who say that Alicia Keys is boring. It's awefully challenging (but not impossible) to "dominate" a stage when you are seated stationary at a piano singing. Alicia would have to have the playing skills of Bach and like the voice of Jill Scott to really be all that exciting and dynamic given her particular craft. Can't compare her to Stevie because he's a genius and it's just not fair.

So what does THIS^ have to do with the fact that I find Alicia's music freaking boring?!?

Steve Wonder has been in live shows where he is sitting behind his keyboard full-time, and his music is classic. Why? Because all of Stevie's songs are NOT trapped in the same tempo.

This is why I feel Alicia's music is boring. That woman have been struck playing within the same downtempo formula for 95% of her whole career.

I'm not "so surprised". And nowhere did i write that I was "so surprised". I stated my opinion on the matter. I just feel that the craft is limited in terms of entertainment. particularly when you take in account the contemporary booty shaking pop culture that we live in.

That picture is fake, and it LOOKS fake; the pussy looks like it was drawn on with a pencil. However, thank you for exposing to the world how damn thirsty you are to see Beyoncé's VULVA. biggrin

[img:$uid]http://i45.tinypic.com/2afirud.jpg[/img:$uid]

[img:$uid]http://i48.tinypic.com/2wnoe9l.jpg[/img:$uid]

And you STILL failed. lol Beyoncé won three Grammys for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on IT)", not six. Please learn to damn count, it's a valuable skill.

"It's complicated for those of us with an IQ that's more than 2 digits" Get your own reads... "to truly understand lyrical stupidity no matter who sings it." No, YOU'RE just stupid. lol

LOL @ Beyoncé's material cheapening her vocal abilities. You must be one of the ones that wants her to make a "soul" or a "REAL R&B" record. KIIIIIIIIIIIII!

falloff Wow, looks like I struck a nerve. A true obsessed fanatic. Your kind always greatly amuses me. lol If Beyonce blew up a school full of preschoolers, you would still defend her and belittle everyone who wasn't okay with it. The woman could shit in a box and you would totally buy it...absolutely pathetic and hilarious all at the same time. She had a 'wardrobe malfunction', which is something that has happened to many celebrities so I'm not just picking on her. She's working that pole better than most strippers do in that picture so that's not exactly speaking volumes about her talent...same way I feel about most female artists now who insist on resorting to this nonsense. If you can sing, why do this garbage? If it's not considered dancing when an exotic dancer is doing it, than it's not dancing when Beyonce does it either and posting a Lil Kim clip really isn't helping prove your case much because yeah:

[img:$uid]http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd135/MISSESWEEZY/kim.jpg[/img:$uid]

No Beyonce fan had better say anything negative about Lil Kim now is all I have to say.

The only reason I even posted that picture was to prove your initial statement wrong. People have seen enough of Beyonce's nether regions to know that it's really nothing amazing and there are no golden rays of light shooting out of it like you probably hoped for.

lol People who have to resort to name calling usually do it because they've either 1) been proven wrong, 2) are immature children with low IQs who need to pick up a book and better their vocabulary, or 3) obsessed fans who are heading into stalker territory. You seem to fit into all 3 of these categories...lucky you. Only an obsessed fanatic would know what her hideous robo glove is made of and can remember exactly how many Grammys she won for 'Single Ladies', so just to make you feel better I'll say her "undeserved 3 Grammys for 'Single Ladies'"...better; good. biggrin I've listened to all of her solo albums and her first album is still the best album she has ever released as a solo artist IMO. Since you call her 'Beysus', I'm going to post the same clip that I posted in another thread for people who insist on giving ridiculous monikers to their favorite celebrities:

I'm done. Enjoy your Beyonce worship services and don't forget to put your money into the collection plate for Daddy Knowles. wave

[Edited 6/8/10 15:34pm]

Well, the pic IS a photoshopped one. She has had "wardrope" malfuctions before(which is part of the reason why she wears the leotards and tights), but this isn't one of them.

But I still don't believe that Beyonce can "blow" as one man at work insists anytime the subject comes up. lol

That's cool. I know some people don't like her timbre when she belts, especially when she wails, because she sounds strident(harsh, a lot of soul singers do when they wail BTW) sometimes. I prefer her "growls"(example: Don't...at the beginning of the Bridge in Single Ladies) to her wailing actually. Many prefer Bey's lyrical timbre(light singing) as opposed to her "dramatic" vocal phrasing. And not everyone likes runs, trills and prominent vibratos like hers either.

So I do get why some don't like her voice. But yes, Bey is better than a lot of people would know. Her ability to go from Piano(light) to Forte(loud belting)[I know, musical terms] is agile and fast and she gets how to use dynamics especially when her voice is 100% in shape. The second video for example, her voice was tired but she did a great job plus I LOVE the arrangement because she turned an uptempo song into a beautiful ballad showing she does have musicianship. But that's another topic. LOL.

I'm not sure that anyone has actually typed here that "Beyonce can't sing". I think folks expressed thoughts on the quality of that voice that the world Raves about.

[Edited 6/8/10 20:57pm]

But she's not an alto either. That's the thing. Her lower voice is good, but her "weight" is in her mid voice(above F3-eb5 or F5 depending where she mix belts). If you put her in a Gospel Choir of women, she's a 2nd Soprano...a Mezzo Soprano(Middle Soprano) like Whitney and Jill is.

Plus, she does great control of her upper belts. She's not screaming. A singer doesn't have "vibrato" when they are screaming. It might give off that facade because her timbre does sound strident, but she's conveying whatever emotion she is doing.

The thing is, Bey tends to change her tone, the OP said this in his initial tone. So she might belt the same note, but her timbre might sound "brighter" than other times. She mix belts too, so depending on how much of her "chest voice" she uses, it might be darker and fuller and other times not so much. But even still, her timbre just brightens after say, D over Tenor C.

not saying she has a terrible voice, just saying she's definately not the best i've heard

And that's fine, but you're missing his point. For one, every voice is limited in the sense that no one can sing the whole piano. You probably know this but it leads to my point. I am a Lyric Tenor. I know that my voice is fine from B2-B4(and I mix from G4 up to D5, actually), I can go above and below that, but that's not my tessitura and my voice is going to thin above and below those notes. In fact from say...E2, I might even vocal fry. LOL.

Even with professionals, it is the same way, no matter their vocal "fach". What the poster was showing you is that even though a Bb2 is not part of her tessitura, she can do it without vocal fry(she's not the only one) but she can do it. And she melismatically phrased and applied vibrato to do it(and btw, I have to work on my vibrato). Her tessitura starts actually around F3, so anything below say D3 for her being a Mezzo without vocal fry impressive. This is her vocal range on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/wa..._1sKySmnNM If you can pick up vocal fry, what note does it start? (I am talking from E3 and below on this video).

Jill is absolutely NOT a Soprano at all. No way even near it. Now perhas she can hit Soprano notes but she is not a Soprano. She is an Alto. And I don't want to be too picky but Beyonce is a 1st Alto, however I'm sure she can sing Soprano if she chooses. And you mentioned previously that when she wails or whatever you called it, she sounds soulful. Sorry, I really disagree. Not sure if you and I are listening to the same artist here or not. And I also think you error in some of your usages of "musical terminology" but I don't have time to walk through it. I guess people tend to hear what they want to hear.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

where's the sarcasm, you made a big thing of it and that's it

i do know what yodelling is..it sounds like yodelling no matter what name you give it to trick your mind into thinking it's a good sound i didnt say straight singing, i said flat singing, people with the voice for it can do it easily without fucking up their voice, she wouldnt be able to simply because she doesn't have the voice..go and ask someone on your street to do a low note and unless they can sing they will do the 'grudge girl' thing, it probves she has a very limited voice

if your watching a worlds strongest man contest one man may be able to pick up the back of a car with trembling legs, whilst another man could pick it up pretty easily witout any shaking, simply co's he has stronger leg muscles

and that's something you should come to accept with singing, some people don't have as strong voices as others, so of course their voice will shake in trying to hold a note

and i didn't say mariah was a better singer, beyonce's better than her, im just saying the higher notes where technically higher and held longer

pretty much all the people you talked of were mainstream, your musical search doesn't go far does it?

the statement of you finding her voice funny was because you ridiculed opera singers..then mentioned she had operatic training

that would be like laughing at karate..then liking someone for thier karate trained techniques

it obviously doesn't come down to training, your either born with a great voice box or not, but obviously if you've trained it in a different way and still sticking to those techniques then you have an operatic-esque voice

not saying she has a terrible voice, just saying she's definately not the best i've heard

(I am talking from E3 and below on this video).

i wasn't saying there were unlimited voices, thats physically impossible what i was arguing was that she's seriously not the best voice i've heard and that her voice does go thin an awful lot

is she the best vocalist you've heard?

low notes only impress me when they are unusually low, like nina simones..who's voice could easily be a mans voice, hers and contralto soprano the lowest note i heard beyonce do is still clearrrly not the lowest i've heard

im not here to tittle tattle over people's voices, just simply that the statement of her being the best singer is inaccurate

''now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, a fanatical criminal''

No, they are both 2nd Sopranos like I said. They're Mezzos. They aren't altos.
