I like it, so, obviously we already know these songs will be included: Into The Groove Vogue 4 Minutes oh man, who would have guessed? Another fansite claims, True Blue won't be included, NRM might be.

Another fansite claims, True Blue won't be included, NRM might be. I think you confused "Hung Up" with "4 Minutes". And you call yourself Madonna fan. "Nothing Really Matters" sounds like a terrible idea ("True Blue" would be a nice addition but I could understand it not making the cut). Please make it the original version of "Into The Groove"!

Get ready for a Celebration!
The store release date in the UK for Madonna's new single is set for Monday 14 September - and despite the rumours that you have read elsewhere that the single is called Celebrate we at madonnalicious can now reveal that the single is actually called Celebration.

Warner Bros has just released the official press release for Madonna's new greatest hits package.
Madonna, who has racked up a record 37 top 10 hits as well as seven No. 1 albums (including her last four) on the Billboard Pop Charts, has given her fans yet another opportunity to "celebrate" her musical achievements. Today, Warner Bros. Records officially confirmed the September 28th release of "CELEBRATION" – the ultimate compilation of Madonna songs. The songs on "Celebration" have all been remastered and selected by Madonna and her fans. They cover the expanse of the Material Girl’s extraordinary career of hits including "Everybody," "Express Yourself," "Vogue" and "4 Minutes." "Celebration" will be available in a two-CD set as well as a single CD. There will also be a "Celebration" DVD released simultaneously which includes the video visionary’s best videos including several that have never before been available on DVD. "Celebration," the CD will also include two new songs that were recently recorded in New York City. The first single, also titled, "Celebration," co-produced by Madonna and Paul Oakenfold, will be released August 3rd. A video for the single, which will be included on the "Celebration" DVD was just filmed in Milan, Italy and was directed by long time Madonna collaborator Jonas ("Ray of Light") Akerlund. Several dance club remixes of "Celebration" are headed to the clubs on July 24th. The song will also be available on CD and vinyl maxi. Radio will receive the "Celebration" single on August 3rd. The cover for "Celebration" was created by street pop artist "Mr. Brainwash" who is best known for "throwing modern cultural icons into a blender and turning it up to eleven." Madonna, a multi Grammy award winning singer, writer and producer has had over 12 No. 1 singles and has a record-smashing 39 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs Chart – by far the most of any artist in the over 30 year history of the list. A very poor quality recording of the song "Celebration"----the audio is poor, but the entire song is played. If you listen closely, you can make out what the song sounds like.It was played during the casting call for the video...

I expected a colour similiar to the little promo ads, i.e. mucha white in the background etc.
This cover is fine. I like it better than the other GH covers of M. So far, no sign of any ballads. I mean, they even included Everybody, may this be an all-dance collection? All her BIG ballads are on STR anyway.???

Cool, but I wonder if these are single edits? I'm happy to see that "Everybody" is included. It gives me hope that they won't completely ignore the lesser singles. "Celebration" will be available in a two-CD set as well as a single CD.
And we all know what's gonna be on that single disc: the biggest hits only There will also be a "Celebration" DVD released simultaneously which includes the video visionary’s best videos including several that have never before been available on DVD.
This is the best news! I hope they include the controversial, unreleased "American Life" video. Also,"Justify My Love" would be a nice addition since it's never been a part of any video compilation. "Celebration," the CD will also include two new songs that were recently recorded in New York City. The first single, also titled, "Celebration," co-produced by Madonna and Paul Oakenfold, will be released August 3rd.
I expect it to leak anyday now A video for the single, which will be included on the "Celebration" DVD was just filmed in Milan, Italy and was directed by long time Madonna collaborator Jonas ("Ray of Light") Akerlund.
Several "insiders" on the fansites have described what the video will be like. Not sure if their info is accurate, though. Several dance club remixes of "Celebration" are headed to the clubs on July 24th.The song will also be available on CD and vinyl maxi.
Since I'm not too crazy about the song,I'm hoping that I'll like one or two of the remixes.I always buy her maxi-singles,for collection purposes. Radio will receive the "Celebration" single on August 3rd.
Based on the small snippet that I heard, this song doesn't stand a chance on US radio.I almost don't even see the point in sending it to US radio stations. They should probably just send it to club DJs and focus solely on that audience. The cover for "Celebration" was created by street pop artist "Mr. Brainwash" who is best known for "throwing modern cultural icons into a blender and turning it up to eleven."
I prefer the previous artwork/design that they were considering...you know, the one that is packaged like a cross? On the other had, that packaged looked very "serious" and they probably wanted something a little more "fun".I guess this will do,but I can think of numerous other photos that would have been better.

Okay, in that lq snip you can still tell how the song, the actucal melody will be like, and this songs doesn't grab my attention at all. It's generic dance sound.
One part is a complete rip-pff from Let It Will Be. Anyone noticed?

I heard the LQ clip that was recorded at the video shoot. I really like it! It sounds less clubby than the 20 second version which sounds like it came from a remix.
It reminds me of some stuff from Confessions like Get Together or Let It Will Be. I'm not too crazy about Revolver. It has that HC sound which I'm not a big fan of. Plus, it was written for someone else. Celebrate sounds more like a Madonna song.

It was fo' no one specific, I guess-list?

ugh. what an ugly cover. why don't these designers think for a minute and
realise that a hit collection cover has to stay fresh for a long time. a current new lp, i get it, has to be sort of hip and happening and the artwork should be 'of it's time' but i just feel that hits or compilation albums should be timeless and a bit more stylish. something classy. i'm thinking along the lines of prince's "hits/bsides" collection. just a great photo and a sleek font. it was released in 1993 and it looks as cool and timeless today as it did in 1993. this cover looks like you're already bored with it after 5 minutes. in a way that matches up nicely to the "hard candy" artwork, lol. so now that she's had yet another overview, can she please go back to making real songs with beautiful melodies, a memorable chorus and a nice, fleshed out backing track instead of these skeletal drone beats she's been stuck on for years and years. something that's a cross between ray of light and erotica would suit her just fine. i don't understand why she feels the need to become more and more of a dance/house crooner. it makes her music and whole persona so much more boring. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Could as well be from 1994, imo.

the concept is ok, but the picture used for the cover is horrendous. I hope its one of a number of different covers available.
Its from her 1990 shoot with helmut Newton isnt it? Strage that one of the strongest things about her work are all the career defining iconic images she's created over the years, and they decide its a great idea to pluck this mess of a photo out of the archives. What is wrong with these people?!?!

SoulAlive, apparently Miles Away will be on it as well.
When you look at Madonna's Name on the cover, in HQ, you can see three song's lyrics: Miles Away, You Must Love Me and Take A Bow. so, they might be a part of the collection as well. Then so far we have 4 Minutes Hung Up Express Yourself Vogue Everybody Into The Groove Take A Bow You Must Love Me Miles Away Revolver Celebrate Im also sure Like A Prayer, LAV, MG and Holiday will be on it as well. Among others..

The cover art is fantastic and yes, much better than the other 3 compilations. Personally I like also the Immaculate Collection artwork although the DVD artwork was better. Something To Remember was OK but GHV2's was horrible (like the whole project)

I love the cover! I guess a lot of it depends on how you feel about Andy Warhol, whose work inspired the cover.
I'm a huge fan of Andy. I actually have a copy of the Marilyn Monroe painting in my bedroom with the blue eyeshadow which obviously this cover draws on a lot.
