I love Madonna's albums of the 00's but as far as greatest hits compilations go the only essential inclusions are:

Music
Don't Tell Me
Die Another Day
Hung Up
4 Minutes

Maybe "Sorry" for good measure since it was a big hit in Europe. This would leave plenty of room for all the 80s and 90s hits. But from what i'm hearing Miles Away is going to be included (as the lyrics are finely printed on the cover. confused

I doubt this will happen, but it would be cool if "Celebration" and "Revolver" were released as maxi-singles with B-sides of hits that didn't make the cut, but are still remastered. That way, we could have another 4-6 tracks.

This would be very easy to produce. Great idea!

Now that would be smart. Honestly they should just remaster her albums now since this is her "Celebration" moment.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well - like The Holiday Collection.

If "Miles Away" is included,I hope they include the album version and not the lame single edit (in which the cool instrumental segment at the end is removed).

LAME! Miles away was a boring song and broke her amazing streak in the UK, not to mention the Video was a throw away. She should have released Beat goes on or DWRY. I say just skip it.

I personally thought DWRY stood out from most of the album, which was a big disappointment to me. I think its a WAY better ballad than Miles Away.

personally i don't think either makes for a good single, though DWRY would be marginally better than Miles Away. it IS a much better song.

also, i'm not sure why they bothered with Give It 2 Me as a single in the US. she went to all the trouble to do an all-out trendy r&b album and what do they release as the second single? the song the sounds most like it's from Confessions disbelief

Beat Goes On definitely should have been the 2nd single in the US. i really can't believe it wasn't released at all. i was holding out hope that they'd use it to promote the new GH, but if there's TWO new songs on it, that's not at all likely. in fact, a second single at this point is pretty unlikely.

I'm glad you understood what I meant. And I love "Everybody".

I really hope we get "Who's That Girl" this time on the 2-disc set. "Causing A Commotion" is box set material.

Nah, "Causing a Commotion" needs to be on this compilation. It was a huge hit, peaking at #2 for 3 weeks and only being kept out of the #1 position by "Bad." I think it's been forgotten by a lot of casual fans precisely because it didn't make The Immaculate Collection, which is now her biggest-selling album as someone mentioned. Because it's unavailable on any Madonna album, I think it needs a spot here.

I love "Causing A Commotion" and I think it should on there before just about any of the 2000-2009 era filler that will likely make the list (don't be shocked to see "Miles Away" or "Give It 2 Me" and not some beloved classics) but I believe that "Who's That Girl" will make it has to make it instead. If she really listens to the fans, looks like "Causin'" might just sneak in too.

I should of put an asterisk by those. I would rather have those two gems than the songs she did for a contractual agreement. I wonder if "Cherish" will make the cut. If it is only two discs, they will have to cut at least one of the big Top 5 hits.

"Let Down Your Guard" is a good song but I don't think B-sides should be considered for this set. She's gonna have enough trouble just including all the hits....there's no room for B-sides.

I hope "Cherish" is included too but I wouldn't mind if it was left off in favor of "Keep It Together".

Again, I was joking and I knew that would never happen. But it would be funny if "Cherish"'s b-side made it and not the proper track. Not even if it was three discs would that happen (well, maybe she would include the most requested b-side and I think "Supernatural" would win out but "Let Down Your Guard" almost has to be number two even if you don't like it...the alternatives aren't too pretty!).

You're asking for Warners to do something smart to get people to buy maxi singles and perhaps make some money with interesting repackagings....they are not that smart!

Yes, you are. I think if they were playing regional releases we would know it by now. It would have made a lot of sense, right? The way Bowie did this with his "Best Of Bowie" sets was incredibly (it was also done recently with MJ and sets called "The King of Pop"....released everywhere but in the US...all fan chosen by country).

Yeah, the sequencing isn't very good, but I like the selections for the most part. The only thing is,I would remove a few songs and throw in a few surprises. For example...since "Cherish" already appears on TIC,for this new compilation I would choose "Keep It Together" instead.
