Yeah i'm sorry i don't like this at all. It looks like something they would have whipped up for one of Kylie's compilations.
I like the official cover as is, i think it's bold.

She's just as old as Prince.. Maybe he should retire too. rolleyes
After her 120 million dollar Live Nation deal it's a safe bet she isn't retiring anytime soon. thumbs up!

found this "supposed tracklist" on the Drownedmadonna forums...

Disc 1---
Vogue
Express Yourself
Into The Groove
Papa Don't Preach
La Isla Bonita
Everybody
Lucky Star
Holiday
Like A Virgin
Borderline
Material Girl
Crazy For You
Open Your Heart
Cherish
Like A Prayer
Justify My Love
Deeper And Deeper
Erotica
Rain

Disc 2---
Celebration (new song)
Music
Get Together
Frozen
Hung Up
Ray Of Light
Beautiful Stranger
Don't Tell Me
Hollywood
Human Nature
Secret
Take A Bow
American Life
Die Another Day
Sorry
4 Minutes
Give It 2 Me
Revolver (new song)

hmmm

This looks most believable. Seems to be her more "requested" hits regardless of their past chart positions. Except I have a hard time seeing anyone wanting to hear "Hollywood"

I should of put an asterisk by those. I would rather have those two gems than the songs she did for a contractual agreement. I wonder if "Cherish" will make the cut. If it is only two discs, they will have to cut at least one of the big Top 5 hits.

Hey David. I'm a constant lurker. As you've said in the past no one really leaves the org, just take a break once and a while. lol
The best Madonna discussions and fans come from this board oddly. I can only tolerate Madonna message boards in small doses.

I would be surprised if it didn't. It is one of her most enduring and requested hits. I think retrospectives like this only benefit from time.

im sure that the tracklist will disappoint all in some way. there's no way a 2cd set can ever include all her singles even, let alone the album tracks like Waiting that are hugely underrapreciated.

I would imagine that Madonna will have pushed to include more of her recent masterial over older stuff, but Warners will have had their own thoughts about that too.

One thing that we all have to be thankful for however is that ALL the tracks have been remastered. Her catalogue between 1987-1998 is, IMO, in need of remastering, and it will be amazing to get Into The Groove, Who's That Girl, Like A Prayer, Express Yourself, Vogue, Secret etc etc all in remastered quality. That's What im most excited about.

That's true. We're gonna finally have these songs remastered! That's reason enough to be excited about this set.

I can't wait until the tracklist is revealed lol The Madonna forums are gonna heat up...lol...there will be lots of bitching and bitter debate. With only 2 discs,it's impossible to please everybody.

I don't know any casual fans that really give a rip about "Everybody". I am guessing it gets included for the reason of it being her first hit, but I think "Holiday" is the one the people prefer.

As observed by her last three collections (although since "Something To Remember" was kind of strict in being ballads only, it was meant with that much bickering). I just want "Who's That Girl" and I'll keep the name calling to a minimum.

I agree, I love Everybody but the casual listener wouldn't even know the song. This compilation has the potential to sell boatloads so they really should stick to the definative hits I think. The hardcore fans have all her songs anyway and would buy the set for collection purposes.

But I am looking forward to the remastered Lika a Prayer tracks and Into the Groove. Hopefully the latter will be retained in it's 4:44 glory running time. No Immaculate Collection versions thank you very much. smile

"Let Down Your Guard" is a good song but I don't think B-sides should be considered for this set. She's gonna have enough trouble just including all the hits....there's no room for B-sides.

I hope "Cherish" is included too but I wouldn't mind if it was left off in favor of "Keep It Together".

Nah, "Causing a Commotion" needs to be on this compilation. It was a huge hit, peaking at #2 for 3 weeks and only being kept out of the #1 position by "Bad." I think it's been forgotten by a lot of casual fans precisely because it didn't make The Immaculate Collection, which is now her biggest-selling album as someone mentioned. Because it's unavailable on any Madonna album, I think it needs a spot here.

I agree,"Causing A Commotion" should be included. It was a sizable hit in the fall of '87 and since it doesn't appear on previous compilations,it should be on this set.

Yeah, my bad (pun intended). "Causing a Commotion" reached #2 the week "Bad" hit #1, but then the former stayed at #2 while "I Think We're Alone Now" jumped it.

Poor Madge; she could make a compilation of songs where she played second fiddle:

#2's

Material Girl
Causing a Commotion
Express Yourself
Cherish
Frozen
I'll Remember

Okay maybe not a compilation, but an EP for sure lol

The Erotica and Ray of Light albums had to settle for sloppy seconds to the Bodyguard and Titanic soundtracks respectively too.

I doubt this will happen, but it would be cool if "Celebration" and "Revolver" were released as maxi-singles with B-sides of hits that didn't make the cut, but are still remastered. That way, we could have another 4-6 tracks.
