need to use i'll remember and this used to be my playground. end of story.

we don't want anything on here, really. but since that damn M can justify her saccharine sweet top 40 hit "You Must Love Me" then i guess we pick that.

obviously we need ray of light and frozen and that's all - sorry you DW lovers, not a hit. NRM losers shut it.

this is where things could get interesting. the track "music" here is the simple album cut. An even more edited down on ghv2 and then also the now recorded and released on cd music inferno from the confessions tour. i say use this original music and also this original dont tell me. and i would LOVE to see impressive instant
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

MY LATEST CONCEPT IDEA IS THAT EACH MADONNA RELEASE THAT CAME OUT ON WB - WHETHER IT BE A SOUNDTRACK, COMPILATION, EP, LIVE CD OR PROPER STUDIO RECORD SHOULD TAKE AT LEAST ONE SONG FROM EACH. THE VERSION SELECTED HERE SHOULD THEN BE REMASTERED (AS WHATEVER EDIT OR MIX IT WAS IN ON THAT PARTICULAR RECORD)

For example:

so im impressed the original everybody will make it. i believe that Burning Up and Holiday should come from this one. Lucky star should be a DUB 12" and leave it at that. 'Borderline' as her first top ten hit is also a must.

LIKE A VIRGIN, MATERIAL GIRL, DRESS YOU UP. Done.

Lets be real here - you truly only need Papa Don't Preach and Open Your Heart. the other 3 are Live to tell, true blue and isla bonita. while im sure the bitch will include isla, i'd say dump all 3 for Where's The Party. Stick an album track fan favorite in.

We JUST NEED 'WHO's THAT GIRL." UNACCEPTABLE

OK here is where we take into the groove from - the DUB version at the end. remaster the fuck out of it

and so on and so forth...

Well Where's The Party is not a good track and doesn't belong in a Madonna compilation. Live To Tell and La Isla Bonita are far better than Open Your Heart. Even Causing A Commotion is. And dub versions in a compilation? Come on get serious.

hey, there are several lyrics printed on the cover (you only can see them in an HQ pic), those lyrics are from

Lucky Star
Like a Virgin
Holiday
You Must Love Me
Miles Away
Take A Bow

Express Yourself, 4 Minutes and Everybody are the only songs so far we know for sure.

Of course Hung Up, Vogue and LAp will be on it as well.

I agree,"Where's The Party?" shouldn't be included. That's a mediocre song.A much better choice would be "Spotlight".It's from that same era and actually received alot of radio airplay, despite not being released as a single. It wouldn't be out of place on this compilation.

"Open Your Heart" was never one of my favorites but it definitely should be included. It was a big hit.

No dub versions! mad I can barely tolerate them on a maxi-single.There's absolutely no place for them on a greatest hits set.

Here's my idea for the single CD version.I'm assuming that this is strictly for the casual fans who want a simple,one-disc overview of her biggest hits (plus the two new songs as a bonus)....

Celebration (new song)
Holiday
Like A Virgin
Material Girl
Live To Tell
Papa Don't Preach
La Isla Bonita
Like A Prayer
Express Yourself
Vogue
Rain

Take A Bow
Ray Of Light

I agree with the Bedtime Story vid. The reason I did not include Sorry is because it is a poor cousin to Hung Up and I guess there is no space. Personally I like the Get Together video a lot and also a lot of the missing soundtrack videos but I don't see them appearing on the DVD

Yeah but there is no Miles Away (whose lyrics are on the cover), both new songs are on second disc which is bizzare considering it is not chronologically listed and Frozen looks weird being between Get Together and Hung Up. I seriously doubt that Beautiful Stranger would be included since it is the only song on GHV2 which is not availlable in any other album of hers. Anyway if this is the list and the second cd is the one to be released separately I'd be happy buying just the single cd version

I hope the songs on this compilation are in chronological order.I hate when they just throw the songs anywhere,in no specific order. When I listen to a greatest hits compilation,I want to hear how the artist has grown and evolved with each new album.Placing "Frozen" between "Get Together" and "Hung Up" is just silly.

I like the BAT version of OYH.

Party is a throwaway, better than Jimmy Jimmy though. WTP is a song where you can tell, M Steve and Pat wanted to write a typical Madonna song, but it seems forced.

Spotlight is a great fun track, written by Curtis Hudson!

Madonna Readies “Celebration” Definitive Hits Collection, New Single Out August 3rd
7/23/09

Madonna confirmed plans to release her definitive greatest hits compilation Celebration today, due September 29th as both a single and double album. As if the lure of 37 Top 10 hits wasn’t enough, Celebration will also feature a pair of new tracks she recently recorded in New York, including the collection’s first single “Celebration,” which was co-produced by house music legend Paul Oakenfold. Celebration’s cover, created by street pop artist Mr. Brainwash, is up now on Madonna’s official website.

While the “Celebration” single won’t be released until August 3rd, remixes of the song are already on their way to the clubs according to the press release. “Celebration” will also be accompanied by a music video, which will be featured on the Celebration DVD.

On July 18th, Madonna’s official website recruited fans in Milan, Italy, to appear in the “Celebration” video, asking them to “come dressed to impress, bring all Madonna memorabilia, t-shirts or Madonna outfits you have and be ready to perform, dance or just be yourself.” Music video vet Jonas Åkerlund (”Ray of Light”) is confirmed to direct.

While the album’s track list hasn’t officially been announced, among the confirmed tracks are hits “Everybody,” “Express Yourself,” “Vogue” and “4 Minutes.”

As Rock Daily previously reported, Madonna’s fans had a hand in the collection’s track list, sending the Material Girl requests and recommendation through her manager Guy Oseary’s Twitter. The Celebration DVD will be released simultaneously on September 29th and will feature a collection of Madonna’s iconic videos, including a few that have never been on DVD before. No official word yet regarding the other new song on Celebration, but it’s rumored to be leaked song “Revolver.”

Celebration is Madonna’s third greatest hits compilation and marks the last release under the Warner Music umbrella before the Material Girl leaves her career-spanning record company for a Live Nation 360 deal.

Holiday didn't make it to the top 10 but KIT did. Holiday is the bigger known song therefore I elected to place Holiday on there over Keep it Together.

I was thinking the same thing, too but that might be lazy reporting/writing. She's had 37 top ten's in the US but you would have to agree that they aren't all going to be on there since songs like "Rescue Me", "Keep It Together" and "Hanky Panky", while loved to some degree, won't make the cut over newer non top ten hits like "Sorry". Looks good though.

I don't want them to be mixed inbetween.

I like conservative best ofs. Chronologically, original versions, no mixes or dubs.
