Not necessarily. There was a singles box set sold when the Sign box set came out. If the D&P singles set mirrors that, it will include a 7" of a vault track or two.

yeah that makes sense costwise and content wise. But it would be big set....like 20 to 24 LPs + 2 video concerts? (8 to 10 LPs for just the rleased stuff... and 6 to 8 vault and 6 for 2 concerts)

Guys. I get it. It's shit, everything is shit. I thought something would be announced this month, clearly it won't be. That being said, take a step back and look at all the evidence we have.

- Straight up pictures of deluxe editions of D&P and the remastered Love Symbol that have the exact same verbage on the hype stickers as 1999 and SOTT did, marked for 2023.

- Money Don't Matter 2 Night 7" apparently, just another D&P thing in the mix

- Rosie Gaine's daughter saying they were putting something out this year for D&P

- Everything at Celebration seems to be D&P + Symbol themed + that rehearsal track they keep teasing on all the Paisley Park Twitter and Instagram posts.

- MULTIPLE people reporting a July release for something even if that seems like it got postponed as some are now saying.

It may not be coming anytime soon, but very very very very very clearly something is or was coming this year. Could things be cancelled still? Absolutely, but you'd have to be dumb to not admit that yes signs have been pointing to this current estate releasing the same D&P set that Comerica had ready years ago. It's literally right there in everyone's faces. There are literal pictures of the release. I get things are grim, but you can't argue with that.

The MPO video (with the "Money Don't Matter 2 Night" singles being pressed) seems to have been recorded recently, so this would be weird to press that single if they're cancelling the project.

I'm pretty sure we're going to see something "soon" (might be during the second part of the year). The question is: will it include a SDE or not?

At this point, I doubt the Estate is even capable of an improved Purple Rain SDE next year.

Work on that already was underway long before the Estaet changed management.
But I also doubt it will be a improbved or complete set, it will probably be like 1999 SDE and SOTT SDE and miss alot of material.

Why not? He's caused it. Plus he'd had ample opportunities to negociate deluxe / remastered / expanded releases of his Warners classics post-1995, but he was too busy behaving like a spoilt brat. Letting all those outtakes and concert recordings etc. rot in his vault was an idiotic decision, especially considering that the music industry collapsed along the way, thus reducing the value of those recordings significantly.

Yes, let's rejoice that we're getting something... lemme check my notes... two years after it was originally planned to be released. Two lost years with barely any newsworthy releases inbetween.

Your comment is useless. lustmealways is talking about evidence that something new is gonna be released this year. There are photos of vinyls pressed with a © 2023 on it. The only thing we are still not sure about is the existence of a SDE version of Diamonds & Pearls with unreleased songs. I'm not in love with D&P, but oblivious I'll be happy to have more stuff from the Vault. No interest in reprint/remastering.
