it is unsual to cover TWO albums in one deluxe release if that is what they are doing.

it would make sense, and i guess, while D&P was a big hit, symbol wasnt, so maybe this is the best way to cover that era in one go. and it might be that there isnt that much great vault material, but who knows, itd be interesting to find out!

I really hope this comes off and we get the Glam Slam 92 show. We know it's there available in video and re-mastered audio. The 2 songs released sounded superb quality. The Sacrifice Of Victor with The Steeles and Rosie sounds like the highlight

I'm pretty sure a poll would reveal that Prince fans have a strong opinion on which option would be better (i.e. release an SDE of D&P with previously unreleased outtakes and live recordings). We're not in a 50/50 situation here.

it doesn't matter what we want. it's all about what they are ready to give us.

and when they've decided what to give us, they can spin the narative however
they want.

they could repress the versace experience again this year and simply say that
is what everyone has been asking them for.

it's like a performer asking a 10.000+ crowd what song to play next. you can
just play whatever you want and pretend someone shouted that song

until the estate starts to communicate a bit more about the plans for future
releases, i'll hold my breath. I certainly don't believe they will listen to anything
we suggest.

So tomorrow or Thursday are both strong possibilities for an announcement IF the July release speculation is true,The fact that those copies of the regular and deluxe set leaked on ebay would add some strong strength to that rumor.

D&P isn't my thing but I am sure it will be popular

I do think it is ODD to do a SDE for both combined

Like others, I think this will just be the 2 albums issued on Vinyl

But who knows

PS - If there is a concert included I hope it is the Act 1 or Act 2.... unless they give that Glam Slam that they showed us at Celebration last year...

It is a little weird that they showed it as last year's celebration if this year's is about D&P but - whatever!

Yeah I was just thinking that, usually an image and brief description of whats getting announced is almost always leakes day or so prior, Hopefully that happens soon if tomorrow is to be the day

Unless we just get the announcement without the leak this time,

I've always considered D&P to be a very commercial album. If you'd asked me why, I would have said the production, the accessiblity of the songs, the heavy promotion (he made some of his most professional videos in years).

But it just occured to me that the hologram cover probably also plays into my perception of it being a commerical album.

I think the hologram is kind of tacky and crass. Do other people like it? Or like me, do people think it's too commerical and cheesy?

Tacky as it may be, I am not impressed with a reissue missing this gimmicky commercial aesthetic.

this is foolish. the pictures are out there, the deluxe of D&P and symbol clearly exist and will be released at some point this year. i understand the pessimism, but it couldn't be more clear that something (maybe big) is coming.

Just being realistic and looking at facts we currently have...The photos only show the vinyl remasters with B sides, edits, etc. This could be all they release, which would be a MF

No concrete info yet of a SDE with outtakes and Glam Slam 92 show. Even though there are rumours of a July release

We know for a fact there is a D&P panel at the Celebration, so this is hopefully a big hint but we'll find out soon..
