Lots of major upgrades in sound quality over what I have already or at least know that I have so that makes it worthwhile for me.

Looks like I'll have to go find it after all. Which ones particularly stand out as clearly better, for you?

Kiss me quick
Strange way
Others here with us
Telepathy
Me touch myself
The line
Oobey doop
My tree
A positive place
Love never has to say goodbye

Just to name the ones that jump out at me.

And to clarify. I’m not saying that they are better than what has been previously circulating, just that they sound better to me based on what I remember having.

I’ve wanted a better version of OTHERS HERE WITH US over what I have for decades. I can’t wait till mine comes in the mail. Plus I’m a big fan of the info booklets that reveal awesome facts.

LILpoundCAKE

Slave 2 The System
2020
Feel Good
Journey 2 The Center Of Ur Heart
I'm A DJ

Man those songs are better than some of the stuff that ended up on the actual album,
as with so many of his outtakes/session tracks.

Well, maybe not I'm A DJ. But it's still a fun track.

Werent Oobey doop, My tree, A positive place on 30 Years of unreleased Funk in pretty much perfect quality, or are these different?

Probably. I haven’t checked to compare. To be honest, those tracks are not ones that I ever need to hear again.

You'd have 90% of the available stuff. There's some very common missing outtakes ("Mindbells", "Uh Huh", "Open Book", for starters), but those are easy enough to find anywhere. All of the Gangsta Glam remixes, which are crucial to knowing Prince, are also missing.

Am I serious they're not on BFTP? yes. Am I serious you need to hear them? No. But if ya wanna be complete, ya gotta have 'em.

Also, holy shit - i just found out that Steve "Silk" Hurley, who did some of the Gangster Glam remixes, is the same dude that wrote "Music is the Key", which was the rap in "Cindy C". The Prince Universe knows no bounds!

Damn. I was expecting the bad sounding versions from "Deposition", but the sound quality on "30 Years Of Unreleased Funk Vol. 2" is pretty excellent. That tells you how many times I've actually listened to those remixes...

Ok, that was not so bad... boxed

.

Anyway, it actually really tells us something about Prince. He did/commissioned 4 remixes for a B-side, which itself is kind of a remix. Those remixes are officially unreleased, but he also recorded a video for that B-side, which actually was released. This is not news to me, but, still, WTF? confused

.

Related question: how many Prince B-sides/non-album tracks were remixed? (And I'm not talking about "mixes" that are actually full versions of songs, such as "Hello" or "She's Always In My Hair".) We have "Gangster Glam". Kirk Johnson remixed "Shockadelica". "Pope" / "Pink Cashmere" have 12" remixes. What am I missing?

Interesting question! There was a remix of "Rock n' Roll is Alive" floating around somewhere, but that is unreleased. I can't off the top of my head think of others that aren't simply "extended versions". Maybe "Loveleft/Loveright" and "Lubricated Lady" could be considered mixes of each other?

Right! "Rock And Roll Is Alive! (And It Lives In Minneapolis) (The Tony Fly Mix)". There's a 36-second snippet of it on "Work It 2.0, Volume 8". I completely forgot about that one.

.

I also forgot about "Do Your Dance", whith "Housebangers", "Q In Doubt (Instrumental)", and "Ethereal Mix" being remixes/different versions of it.

.

"The Lubricated Lady" is like an extension of "Get Off", yes.

.

In all cases, we have alternate/remix versions of a song that's already loosely based on another song (i.e. "New Power Generation", "Cream", and "Gett Off"). That was a fun concept.

Beyond that, he was a horrible programmer and producer.
