Just for info, is it a factory-pressed CD release or simply a download only release?!?!?

Anyway the only thing of real interest for me is "The Dopamine Rush", obviously if it is the full track and not the 2-minutes sample.

The Charade outtakes were already on BFTP 1.0 in great quality (even if Eye with an highly desputable choice "splitted" OF4S from the original sequence) so their inclusion here seems a self-rehash.

It's factory pressed CDs. It's a run of 500 copies.

Would only be worthwhile if the songs are in complete and pristine quality. Otherwise, bin it.

Has Move Me leaked before? I'm not familiar with the track

Move Me is an unreleased track recorded on 6 February 1990 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (five days before Thieves In The Temple). While most of Prince's writing collaborations stemmed from jam sessions with bandmembers or adding his own contributions to tracks begun by other writers, this track is a rare example of Prince co-writing in the studio with other writers; co-writer David Z. Rivkin believed that this was the first time Prince had done that. The track was left as a preliminary version, however, with Prince singing accompanied only by piano, perhaps played by Levi Seacer, Jr., the other co-writer on the track. The track was copyrighted at the Library of Congress on 20 May 1991, but remains unreleased.

source=PrinceVAult

The version of 'Move Me' on this set is only 1:26 in length. The tracks are listest chronologically and it sits right before 'Bridge of grafitti' (1:14) and 21 Guns (2:29), I'm guessing they are all just piano try outs from the same source tape.

I know the rebels version but there’s a 1 minute snippet of Prince’s version so I’m hoping it’s that version

There is a 2 minute snippet also available.

Do we know for sure this is the Rebels version

It’s listed as hard 2 get on the set and I know the rebels version is hard to get so it might be the Prince version

Scrub that! The set isn't fully chronological.

Thanks.

Knowing that "The Dopamine Rush" is only the 2 minute sample I'll pass this... for that full track only I would have think of it (it's one of my few "holy grail") but the rest is not that worthy (I'll doubt TDR will not be the only one "snippet" included).

I honestly don't get the constant rehash to bootlegs. This is shit we've had forever and a day, is it not? Yes, I know "Neurotic" is new (the person who shared it publically here got it from me), but 99% of the other stuff isn't.

It seems unnecessarily labor intensive to put together something like this, create artwork, etc, and get it out just to put stuff out we already have. And like someone said, unless it's from a newer and cleaner source, who cares? No one can "remaster" something from a hissy cassette, no matter what GarageBand or whatever EQ they put it through. And often times, I find those fan-made "remasters" often sound worse.

BFTP series always seemed to center around an era, or a time frame. This is just a sprawling free for all.

I own my fair share of boots and there's a decent amount songs here that I haven't heard. Speaking only for myself of course but it seems like a weird thing to get upset about it. You can just, you know, not buy it, listen to some of it if you own it or just not worry too much about what bootleggers are selling, which is always hit and miss.

For the obsessive die hard Prince collector who's consumed everything, the "wtf is this tired shit" attitude...it comes off to me like Homer Simpson in the all you can eat fish restaurant.

According to princevault this has been released on Valerie Carter’s posthumous album The Lost Tapes. The song was written by Prince and she but the released version features her vocals and other musicians playing the music.

Hopefully the song on BFTP 7 is an unreleased version with Prince’s vocals and instrumentation. Otherwise, what’s the point of including it? neutral

yes this. I likededed that song pray

*SECOND UPDATE*
Hi everyone. Thanks for all the feedback. I've have received a lot of messages, updates and additional info since I uploaded my post on Blast 7.0. One person in particular (who prefers to go unnamed) was kind enough to send me a lot of notes so many thanks to him. Rather than butcher the original post with annotations I've decided to paste over it.

Before I post my revised notes the person mentioned above wanted me to stress a couple of points. The first I'm just going to quote verbatim...

"
First off, all of the tracks will be tweaked by Eye Records. Meaning the tracks won’t be listenable in their genuine quality and definitely won’t be superior in any shape or form".

Secondly, in my original post there were many instances where I mentioned bootleg albums and collections (such as previous editions or Blast, Demos and Outtakes etc) as places where I found better quality versions of previously circulating songs. This fellow researcher also wanted me to stress that a lot these tracks actually circulate online for free amongst fans prior to being taken by these labels to create their sets. It wasn't my intention to discredit any original sources, I was simply noting where I'd personally encountered these tracks.

All of these are fair points and I assumed most people reading my post would have already been aware of a lot of this, but since lineage matters when it comes to audio he was right to want to stress these points for those who are unfamiliar.

Disc One

01 Neurotic Lover's Baby's Bedroom (6.03) [1977] – Individual leak that surfaced in September 2020. When the track originally leaked the vocals only appeared in the left stereo channel, and the drum machine in the right. However a few different fans attempted to mix the two channels together. The demo file released by Eye reveals that they have either used one of these fan mixes or attempted to mix the track again themselves.
02 We Can Work It Out (2.57) [1977]
03 Make It Through The Storm (2.43) [1976]
04 Just As Long As We're Together (3.39) [1977] –
Tracks 02-04 Originally sourced from 'Studio Nights'.
05 Kiss Me Quick (2.27) [1979]– Originally a track that leaked for free online. It was later taken for use on Blast 3.0. Although listenable, the sound quality wasn’t perfect. Hopefully this version will be better.
06 I Got Over It (3.22) [1977] – Recorded in 1977 by Valerie Carter. It was officially released on Valerie’s posthumous album ‘The Lost Tapes’. It’s not unusual for Eye to occasionally include an officially released track if it’s on the rare side. Blast 1.0 included ‘Purple House’ and ‘A Case Of U’. Blast 2.0 and 5.0 included the iTunes single ‘F.U.N.K’. etc.
07 Broken (2.58) [1981] – Originally leaked on 'Studio Nights'. Did previously appear on Blast 4.0 with what seems to be a lot of cleaning effects applied to it by the looks of the spectral data (or it was a lossy copy).
08 Tick, Tick, Bang (3.13) [1981] – Another track that originally leaked on 'Studio Nights' and the quality isn’t bad from what I remember. This will be its first appearance on Blast.
09 Hard 2 Get (3.37) [1979] – Originally sourced from 'Studio Nights'.
10 Strange Way (2.01) [1981] – Was leaked as an MP3 in 2015.

11 Computer Blue (5.45) [1983]

12 I Would Die 4 U (2.48) [1983]
13 Baby I'm A Star (4.54) [1983]
14 Darling Nikki (2.52) [1983]
15 The Beautiful Ones (5.13) [1983]
16 Purple Rain (9.50) [1983]
Tracks 11-16 match those found on Prince’s Purple Rain work tape (17th October 1983) that began circulating in October 2020 (https://prince.org/msg/7/464903)

17 If The Kid Can't Make You Come (9.13) [1983] –
Appeared on Blast 6.0 with Eye's own tweaking. The raw, untweaked version is not currently circulating in the wider fan base.

18 Dear Michaelangelo (5.10) [1984] – Apparently this track has leaked online twice within the past few years. Once in 2017 in inferior quality, and then once again within the past few months in perfect quality.

Disc Two

01 Wendy's Parade (2.12) [1985]
02 New Position (2.20) [1985]
03 I Wonder U (1.36) [1985]
04 Under The Cherry Moon (2.57) [1985]
05 Others Here With Us (2.43) [1985]
06 Life Can Be So Nice (4.12) [1985]
07 Old Friends 4 Sale (3.34) [1985]
08 All My Dreams (7.21) [1985]
09 Girls and Boys (5.36) [1985]
10 Love Or Money (4.10) [1985]
Tracks 01-10 appear to be the ‘Parade Demos’ tracks (the Charade tracks) made up of the early Parade sequence with a few additional bonus tracks. Interestingly these were previously used on Blast 1.0, and Eye don’t usually re-use tracks unless they can get their hands on better sources / sounding versions. However, 4DF claimed that Parade Demos was sourced from a very low generation tape and were confident that there version is the best available. It’ll be interesting to see what Eye have to offer on this occasion.

11 Dream Factory (2.39) [1985] – From the running time this appears to be the album edit. A pristine version of this track has been circulating since 2002 when SaTim cleaned up the work tape that Thunderball released in 2000. I’m guessing either Eye have been able to get a cleaner transfer of the original tape, or they’re using the circulating version to make the numbers up. This may be the case since ‘Dream Factory’ hasn’t appeared in the Blast series before. (It was also pointed out to me that an alternate edit also exists on the 'Fantastia' set. As such the version featured on 7.0 could be either one of those.)
12 Can I Play With U (4.12) [1985] – Running time isn’t far off the edited version with alternate intro. This will be the first time it appears on Blast, although the longer version did appear once back on Blast 1.0. This alternate edit originally leaked back in 1990 on the classic bootleg ‘Crucial’ (although it was significantly sped up). A much higher quality version of this track leaked online and was used on the 2017 Sabotage set, also titled ‘Can I Play With U?’ at the correct speed.
13 The Sex Of It (3.30) [1987] – The Sex of It did appear on Blast 5.0, however it was a longer and much rawer unmixed version. The running time here implies that this is the more common version that originally appeared on 'Fantasia' (Moonraker 1997). Although it has been circulating in listenable quality, if Eye can release something lower gen this time around I’d personally be very grateful.
14 Rebirth Of The Flesh (5.20) [1985] – This one is interesting since it is dated 1985. I suspect this may be a misprint. I’m guessing if an earlier recording of Rebirth did exist we’d have heard about by now. One private collector I know did assure me that no known version of ‘Rebirth’ clocks in at 5.20, however I think I’ve worked out what this is. Shortly after the release of the SOTT:SD a fan edit of Rebirth began circulating which claimed to have fixed the ‘Original ending’ issue by splicing the released version with the ending from the 1986 Crystal Ball album. This fan edit clocks in at 5.19.
15 Shockadelica (6.27) [1986] – *NEW* About 15 seconds longer that the official 12” release. I’ve been told this time matches a full length version of the song. It seems that even the 12” version contained slight editing.
16 Telepathy (2.32) [1986] – Was leaked online in really high quality and subsequently appeared on PMA’s Demos and Outtakes (see ‘Strange Way’)
17 The Dopamine Rush (2.09) [1988] – I was out of the loop on this one until Phase3 and BoraBora brought up that a two minute sample of a ‘Prince version’ leaked online. Given that this is two minutes long I think it’s safe to assume that this is the same sample.
18 The Line (8.51) [1987] – I've been told this particular version leaked on the 2012 bootleg 'Perfect Unreleased 2'.
19 Big House (1.37) [1988] - Originally leaked as a short sample in 2010, then it leaked again in a longer sample on “Closer 2 God” (in M4A quality)
20 Me Touch Myself (3.35) [1989] – A decent sounding version (although lossy quality) appears on PMA’s ‘Demos and Outtakes’ (see ‘Strange Way’). The track originally leaked on 'Dance With The Devil' (Moonraker 1997)

Disc Three

01 Oobey Doop (4.29) [1990]
02 My Tree (4.11) [1990]
03 A Positive Place (2.20) [1990]
04 Play (3.48) [1990]
05 Heaven Is Keeping Score (1.13) [1989]
These tracks seem to have been originally intended for a longer version of the NPG (Funky Weapon Remix) maxi single but were later omitted. Coincidentally a test press CDR is currently available on eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254852550630). They first appeared on Deposition (Moonraker 1997) at the wrong speed. Lossless versions of all five tracks appeared one year later on Preposition (Satim 1998) at the correct speed.

06 Seven Corners (4.38) [1989] – Has been circulating for decades. I’m unaware of any recent upgrades in sound quality. We’ll have to wait and see on this one.

07 Crystal City Cry (3.58) [1987]
08 By Alien Means (4.48) [1988]
09 Boom Box (1.43) [1991]
10 Work That Fat (4.30) [1991]
11 Glam Slam '91 (5.19) [1991]
Have all appeared on Blast 5.0 in various different levels of sound quality (07-09 originally being from online leaks and 10-11 being from late 90s Moonraker sets). Crystal City sounded particularly bad.

12 My Name Is Prince (9.24) [1991] *NEW*This one is interesting. According to a friend of mine who has some knowledge of tracks that are circulating amongst private collectors, there is an uncut original version of ‘My Name Is Prince’ that was intended for a maxi single but was later aborted. However, the fully uncut version clocks in at 9:56 and is therefore 32 seconds longer than what is being advertised here. Either Eye have the track at the wrong speed (which I doubt since they could have compared it to the released version), or they have a version that has been slightly edited in some form or fashion.
13 Damn U (Sax Mix) (4.07) [1992] – Originally appeared on 'Wow' (Eye 2008).
14 Fantasia Erotica (Instrumental) (4.41) [1989] *?NEW?* According to the notes sent to me " The fourteenth track also seems to be an unique/new item in this set, however I’m very skeptical about this track. I’ll wait to listen to it. (However if people really are interested in hearing an instrumental of this song, the unreleased “Dance Mix” version is an edited instrumental of the ‘89 version.)"
15 Madhouse (7.16) [1988] *NEW* Although not known for certain, there have been a few rumblings that (judging by the running time) this may be an instrumental intended for Miles Davis recorded in ‘87 as opposed to ‘88. (https://princevault.com/i...March_1987). A couple of friends have kindly mentioned this one to me. If it is indeed this track, it’s been described as a mostly drum and bass instrumental. It’s known by private collectors but has yet to circulate any wider than that.
16 24 (6.48) [1988] – Originally I mentioned that my copy of 24 is only 5 minutes long. This was sent to me in response... "The sixteenth track is from the “Fantasia” bootleg, IDK if your version is the same, but if it is, you may have the corrected track, it initially appeared on the bootleg with a glitch/repeat tag during the middle section that made the track longer than it was."
17 Move Me (1.26) [1990] *NEW* From the notes sent to me "The seventeenth track is another unique/new item in this set, it’s a piano demo with Levi Seacer Jr slightly accompanying Prince on vocals, and possibly David Z. being present in the session."
18 Bridge Of Graffiti (1.14) [1987] – Individual leak that surfaced October 2020 (https://prince.org/msg/7/464629)
19 21 Guns (2.29) [1987] – Individual leak that surfaced February 2021 (https://prince.org/msg/7/466017)

Disc Four

01 Come (4.44) [1993]
02 Endorphinmachine (3.51) [1993]
03 Right The Wrong (4.40) [1993]
04 Chaos and Disorder (4.11) [1993]
05 Shy (Remix) (4.45) [1993]
06 Gold (mix 1) (5.51) [1994]
07 Gold (mix 2) (7.36) [1994]
Originally leaked back in July 2004. Known as the Poet99 leaks, or 'Outtakes 93-94'. (https://prince.org/msg/7/103862)

08 Slave (3.05) [1995]
09 2020 (2.06) [1995]
10 Feel Good (4.06) [1995]
11 Journey 2 The Centre Of Your Heart (4.15) [1995]
12 I'm a DJ (4.47) [1995]
13 Emancipation (4.30) [1995]
Tracks 08-13 appear to be a selection of tracks from an early configuration of Emancipation (similar or the same as the configuration released by Sabotage as ‘Emancipation – The Secret Chapter’ in 1999). Going by the running times I’m guessing ‘Slave’ is in fact the Emancipation version of ‘Slave 2 The System’ which also clocks in at 3:05.

14 Love (Never Has To Say Goodbye) (5.31) [1995] – Thank you Silver, Romeoblu & Bora Bora for pointing out that this track has been in circulation since at least 2014 and was included on Blast 2.0. As Bora points out, this may be a quality upgrade.
15 Rich Friends (5.23) [2010] – Was previously included on Blast 2.0. and sounds fine to me. Not sure how they can improve on it. We’ll see.
16 Rumeta (string and horns) (3.56) [2015] – Appears to be fan made.
17 Dream of Fire (Purple Fire Mix) (4.16) [2012] – Originally streamed on YouTube in 2013, this hasn’t previously appeared on Blast.

Hi Lust.

I'm sorry bud. That sucks. Personally I'd love to hear anything from the original Graffiti Bridge / Rave era, including 'Bloody Mouth'. It's such a shame that so little from that time has leaked, and what has tends to be in dreadful quality. Fingers crossed you find your grail some day, sooner rather than later.

Tracks 01-04 appear to have similar running times to the versions found on 10,000 Wallpaper with the exception of Come. On 10,000 Wallpaper Come was 20 seconds shorter. Maybe it’s a misprint or maybe these were from an alternate source. On 10,000 Wallpaper ‘Come’ segues from ‘Interactive’. Maybe this source features it’s own clean intro?

05 Shy (Remix) (4.45) [1993] – No idea about this one.
06 Gold (mix 1) (5.51) [1994]
07 Gold (mix 2) (7.36) [1994]
Tracks 06 & 07 - Not sure about these ones. The running times don’t match anything I could find.

I can't remember the title of the original leak, but these probably are all from the same tape that was later released on the "Magnificent Outtakes" 2CD set.

"Shy (Remix)" has near the same lenght as "Shy #1" so it is more a proto-version than a proper remix.

The 2 versions of "Gold" are work-in-progress mixes, the first really stripped down and the second more similar to the released version but less embellished.

It is already included on CD3 of BFTP 2.0.

Maybe it is from a cleaner sounding tape.

Brilliant work VaultCurator, that's a very helpful list you've compiled. Judging by what you've said it should be worth downloading for me at least as there's a few things that have leaked in the relatively recent past that I've missed.

All this 'oh it's out there, but only in, y'know, SPECIAL circles, among the HARDCORE fans and collectors' is what I hate most about bootlegs.... it's such UTTER BULLSHIT.

Like there's some cache in having a fucking Prince song that others don't have. Anyone like that needs to get the fuck over themselves.

Almost as bad is the 'oh that track is on this boot comp that's for sale, but only a 2 minute sample, and in horrible quality'..... That too is UTTER BULLSHIT. Release it or don't, for fuck's sake.

This stuff should all be out there, for FREE. Nobody should be making money from this, or rehashing old shit.

Just ridiculous, and puts a damper on the whole process.

1. You have anger issues.
2. Everything already is either 'out there or not'
3. Everything you have for free came from a hardcore collector that probably paid for it.
4. If you pay for a bootlegs you have only yourself to blame.

Have a great weekend.
blah blah blah
