I want DIRTY MIND: Super Deluxe

It’s all I want. This one. So so bad. Above all other possible posthumous releases...

I hope it happens. This album deserves the super deluxe treatment! It is Prince’s first masterpiece.

The album has already been remastered in 2011. I own the vinyl of it, and it sounds great. Just cleans up some of the muddy sounds (although the album is relatively sparse compared to Prince and Controversy). Overall clearer sound.

A deluxe would be great, though. And the March 22 show is a must. It's my birthdate!

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Yeah well I want Kristen Stewart but we can't all get what we want, can we?

So you already have this material but still want it yo be released?
What would be the point?

Nevertheless, they really should do two classic albums reissue a year.

- One expensive SDE for the albums with huge audio/video material ( D&P, Lovesexy, Parade, etc.)
- one cheap 3 CD/dvd deluxe edition for albums with not so many audio/video material ( For You, Prince, Dirty Mind, etc.)

Just imagine if Prince had died at Buddy Holly's age all we would be talking about is:

For You - SDE
Prince - SDE
DIRTY MIND - Super Deluxe. lol smile

But we would still be talking about it a lot because because after all, we.are.[B]org. Resistance would be futile obviously.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

If he died before Purple Rain, the org would have never existed.

At the bottom of the Discogs link where you found this image, you'll see recommendations for the other three vinyl remasters released at roughly the same time.

I think I would prefer the dvd to be Paris over the Ritz, both high energy and wonderful, amazing they were both filmed so early in his career

I think there was a big discussion on here a few years ago about Dirty Mind. Bernie Grundman (or his son) was contacted about Dirty Mind and he confirmed he personally worked on the remaster.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I care too.
I never cared about bootleggs ( except I wonder which is fantastic), but each time a reissue is announced, most orgers here are like "I want this, I want that, and this concert, etc. "
And then the tracklist is announced, they're like "We don't care, we already have this" eek

I saw this too much here.

^there were a whole bunch of intriguingly named outtakes from that era like "Bulgaria",instrumentals according to Don Batts. I would like at least a disc of these 😀

Knowing he only succeeded in releasing 8 tracks, clocking at only 30 minutes, I think the unreleased material from this era is not extraordinary.
Or else he would have released like 10 tracks, not just 8.

Except in 1980, most people including Prince were releasing 8 track compatible albums.

Can't tell if joke.

Albums on 8 track tapes could have more than 8 songs.

I said 8 track compatible. The album was short to fit on formats prevalent at the time. Unless you're suggesting they edit the songs to fit more? Most of his albums at the time had 8 or less songs.

You re wrong I m sorry.
Prince only two previous albums had respectively 9 tracks for 33 minutes lenght( which was already shortshort for the time) and 9 tracks for 42 minutes lenght.

Even the Beatles albums in the 60's had more than 30 minutes lenght.

MJ's Blood On the Dance Floor is regarded as an EP, which I never understood, because the unreleased songs makes for 28 minutes, 33 minutes with the alternative mix of Scream, retitled Scream Louder.
