Last time Sony made an announcement for a Prince release was rhe 4th February...of 2020.š±
And we had preorders link even before that. The ONA was eventually released mid-may. When I said there was obviously a problem with the Sony reissues. Nothing to come before at least end of june, as of now. 2021 will be great, my ass. [Edited 3/22/21 22:03pm]

why dont they just put together some vault tracks and release it as a New Album. I guess they are waiting on what super deluxe albums there going to do release. And put the vault tracks on those!

Nine tracks are known to have been slated for the project at some point, although there is no exact tracklist or sequence known. In alphabetical order these tracks are:

I thought Hot Summer was ok. When She Comes is for me by far the worst song on Hit n Run 2. That is mainly due to the accordion. 1000 light years section of Black Muse is wonderful. Hopefully they will omit the songs will already have and just make an album of tracks recorded in the 2010-2011 period.

guys why do you want michael howe to selectively pick prince songs and seperate them from the context they were originally recorded in and then market it as some new outtakes hodgepodge album when there are albums the man himself compiled and finished just sitting there?

Morris Hayes (who produced the "W2A" album) stated that the version of "When She Comes" was different (not sure how much so) than the one on HNR2, so hopefully it's that version.

If it means we get the music out quicker, then I would say yes! We know a lot of the songs already, so to have em in better quality would be great. I have enjoyed the releases so far. But would like to see the estate open a website to sell things like rehearsals etc, which we know there is a lot! Us so called hardcore fans would pay for those. They could still release super duluxe albums out to the general public and more casual fans. Yes I know am moaning but Iām not getting any younger! [Edited 3/24/21 3:39am]

RSD release. "The Truth" by @prince. Sony Legacy issue. June release. Official announcement release to follow at some point.
Safe to say the next Sony Legacy reissue will be "Crystal Ball" with "The Truth" being a stand alone release.

If Welcome 2 America is released this year, the same year as a new administration takes hold, the idea that the release is a political statement can't be ignored. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

I love the Truth , and it deserves a proper release

another rsd another bullshit release that shouldn't be wasted on rsd. so much cool stuff they could be doing with rsd releases and yet every year it's just a repackage of something that's already been released, of course drastically marked up in price too.

If they're gonna release The Truth on vinyl, I wish they'd use the real, Prince-approved, original cover(the one in black and white, that first appeared on Tidal) instead of the one Sony made-up when they rereleased it online. But I have very little hope A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I rememeber that cassette. It was an in-house promo that was only sent to a few journalists for review, IIRC, so it was never meant for release or widely distributed (despite a release being annonced, then cancelled, in 1997). And it's only known to exist in cassette format. Whether Steve Parke (I suppose it was him?) designed a CD version of that cover is something we'd have to ask him. It's the same picture as on the Sony reissue, so it could be that they used a proper cover from that time (though the CB font for the symbol makes me suspect probably not). . I was surprised when the B&W cover (from the same picture, BTW) ended-up on Tidal, and IDK if that cover was ever considered in 1997, but as far as I can tell that was the first time that a cover was given to the album 1/ on a proper release and 2/ in CD/LP format. That's why I would consider it the proper cover. Anyway, IDK what the problem is with the B&W cover, it's not like B&W is offensive or anything. So I was right from the start. Something to be announced in march won't be released until mid-june. Sony has given up reissues ( CB won't happen) but will still keep on releasing these sub-par reissues such as The Truth on event such as RSD. Less costly, and possibility to overprice it for a few thousand of hardcore fans.
