Didn't I read Parade Deluxe was ready but shelved for 1999 Deluxe instead? If that is correct Parade Deluxe has been shitting on the shelf ready to go for a few years now...

Parade was also cancelled for Piano and Mic 83

IIRC, WB will still have ownership of the soundtrack albums (PR, Parade, Batman) after this year, so it makes sense for them to hold off on Parade SDE and get something else out (D&P) while they still have time.

They can release Parade after whatever comes next.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but since Universal now owns the rights to all the non-soundtrack albums, is the idea that the creators of the super deluxe are now going to work on projects for Universal and not WB? Wouldn't WB still want to get more Super Deluxes out there, or do super deluxes for Batman, Graffiti Bridge etc. now face the addtional hurdle of WB and Universal having to collaborate in order for vault material to be released? I'm trying to understand if the potential exists for both music labels to release super deluxes, or who exactly gets to decide that. Because clearly, if UMG now has all the power to decide what to do with the vault material, we might not be seeing super deluxe editions of Parade, Batman, GB and PR for a long, long time.

- Sometime in 2021, 12 of the non-soundtrack albums will become Sony's. This deal does not include vault material. Only "previously released" material (although the definition of that is loose since they reissued the Rock And Roll Is Alive single and The Versace Experience)

- It is rumored that the 2014 WB deal has some sort of clause that says Warner has some sort of stake in any studio vault material recorded while Prince was under contract. That, along with the region rights being fractured, is what made Universal demand to be released from their contract.

- Nobody has any idea of how future Super Deluxes are going to work after the rights go to Sony. You would think that additional deals would have to be worked out. But we'll have to wait and see.

I dont think anyone wants to over saturate the market with huge price tags to be honest. A lot of stuff came out this year despite everything going on in the world when somethings have been bumped I think there were quite a lot of releases. We had all the ONA collections, the set, and also seperate releases, plus we had the vinyl releases and cd issues of albums like Emancipation, PE etc....then we get the giant SOTT set and then a vinyl RSD issue of the vinyl. I thnk a D&P issue will be less of a deluxe then what we have gotten with SOTT and even 1999. I think we might get some dvd/blu ray stuff for sure it was a big Prince video era, what i would like to see would be a dual LTD release and do the Symbol album with this since Prince really wanted them released closer together and they are with most of the same players and this is right when Prince drops the name. Releasing them together would be interesting similar to putting out COME and the GOLD EXP together since Prince also wanted that.

I really hope "Player" is included in the outtakes disc.I just listened to it and it sounds better than ever. Now a pristine copy would make diamonds and pearls set worth the purchase.
And please add all the promo videos because the "diamonds and Pearl's" dvd released years back is now out of print. sad

You know Prince fans are a spoiled bunch when they can spend their time making smart ass comments about a record that stands tall next to the garbage that was released by other artists around the same time.

Aside from Nevermind and maybe Siamese Dream (or was that 92?), there's precious few masterpieces from 1991. Diamonds and Pearls, however, had some of Prince's best, most enduring songs of his entire career. And thank God the record was as successful as it was because it helped encourage prince to keep doing whatever it is he did and it resulted in further decades of music that was on his own terms.

I would guess

.

CD1: The Album

CD2-3: Remixes, singles, b-sides

CD4: From The Vault

CD5: [some live show, lets go with your guess]

DVD: Earls Court 1992

.

Maybe we'll get two discs of Vault.
.
Or maybe they'll really surprise us with the scrapped documentary Prince was working on around that time (that was 92, right?)

I'll second that. The album has some incredibly strong material and some of the outtakes from the period we have heard (Open Book, Player, Get Blue) are brilliant.

Forget all the awards tv shows, and everything related to the GB era.
.
The live at MTV for SOTT in 1987 was also used as a music video, and wasn't included on the SDE.
It would have been fun to include the Muppets video for Starfish and Coffee.
Sadly, the quality of the music videos on the SDE dvd was terrible. It looks better on YouTube.
