I'm waiting for the next single to be released, the first single should have been the very best out of the bunch which is In A Large Room, not that subpar Witness. |

I agree that version of Witness is kinda monotonous, but I think Large Room is a little much for the dinner crowd. I'd pick Rebirth, but maybe that one MFer disqualifies it.

I honestly wonder if these "singles" really aim to promote the release in the sense of attracting new customers, or simply tease it for acquired customers.
Don't Let Him Fool Ya, despite its remarkable resemblance to Let's Dance, was among the most demoish (and repetitive) tracks on 1999 Deluxe, so I'm not sure whether it was the best choice to seduce new listeners. Same here with Witness: a fan favorite for sure, but not much of a catchy melody (it's kind of a challenging track for casual listeners, and this version even more than the more minimalist and electronic second one).
Certainly, there are other tracks among these 45 or so outtakes that are more catchy or "commercial" (in the sense of radio friendly).
So IDK... |

It seems Udo is a big Trump supporter based upon prior thread responses, so this helps to explain the text and grammar issues, as well as, the hypocrisy
I love Udo. A Prince hardcore through and through. I only pointed out his error for a bit of fun. I don't care about anyones politics, as long as they are respectful of the opinions of others.

Am I the only one who likes his utmost poisoned cynical humor ?!
Lemme also try :
"Bart, How about you don't post that here, and instead of coming to this forum THAT HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH A GODDAMN REPLY ABOUT CUSTOMERS SERVICE OR FAQ ON AMAZON. You could easily SEND A PRIVATE ORGNOTE instead. Shees."
-
Well look, it kinda works... no?!
All jokes aside, I like the guy though.
He spreads spelling fear and brings the most dark cynical humor ànd so much more to this confusing place of info.
He's that horrible angry teacher everyone hates, but nevertheless pays attention to.
-
I want 'them' to ask Bart to write future linernotes for Prince releases.
He can do a great job. The info would be 'correct'. There would be less fan idolatry and overuse of the words 'genius' and 'masterpiece'.
Imagine him writing for the SOTT SD release...
I'm pretty much convinced there would be no flaws or misspelling in there and the info would be useful.
Peace though, and,
do check my spelling Bart.

I love Bart!!! I appreciate his knowledge of, and links to, all things Prince related.

Also, grammar and scouring the web to confirm information are two of my strengths; therefore, I have not yet experienced the "wrath of Bart" response

I may be crazy
BTW, I had purchased the 7" box set, the Peach vinyl and the SDE vinyl. I just sent an e-mail to the Prince estate asking them if they would be so kind as to allow me to pay for the extra shipping and ship the 7" box set when it comes out (while ordering, I didn't see that the 7" box set comes out a month earlier than SDE). They sent me a response basically repeating that they only send out orders when everything comes in. :-/
I know that: I was asking for a favor being that I spent quite a bit of money here. Gee, thanks.

Hi everyone. I've just seen that Amazon UK have just added autorip to both the vinyl and CD edition of Super Deluxe. So we should be able to start listening to a free MP3 copy from the early hours of the morning, rather than having to wait for the post man. |

It won't be available until the release date, but it means that you'll be able to begin listening to the album as soon as it's out, as opposed to when the post man turns up with the physical set. |

Matt Everitt’s interview with Michael Howe (well part of it) was on today’s Shaun Keaveny’s BBC 6 Music show in the UK (at about the 1 hour 44 minute mark on the link below). https://www.bbc.co.uk/pro...s/m000khwj (log in required to listen again) Nothing new really, may be some people won’t know about how Prince wrote the lyrics to Sign O’ The Times, after waking up in LA during an earthquake and being inspired to write it from things written in the LA Times.
-
well I tried to check and saw all LA Times newpapers betwen 7th and 16th of Juli 1987,
you can easily access them (on the LA Times website),
but oculdn't find anything remarkable
that might have influenced the lyrics...
-
Anyone ? Maybe someone already did...
Would be nice to find 'that' particular newspaper...

As fan, we want always something else. After the excitement of the announcement and the song "Witness 4 The Prosecution Version 1" post, nothing happened. No new post on the official FB since last week. Can we expect "Witness 4 The Prosecution Version 2" or another song? I would be fine with at least track durations....
Thanks that we have meanwhile "His Majesty's Pop Life" CD release. "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search." |

Hopefully they do that in the US as well. The 1999 SDE did not come with AutoRip.
